I was so happy when you got Sherb last night! I have him and he's so precious. I got him on my third ever mystery island when I started searching to fill the first of the three houses I built. I actually prefer the default house he's in over his actual house. I think it fits him. (In the default house he's in, he has some fruit furniture and a dirt floor. He loves food and bugs so it fits him so well). I visited someone with Saharah last night and they actually updated her, too! After buying something, she asks you if you want to continue buying stuff. You don't have to talk to her a million times now!

I'm currently isolating alone away from family and friends, and watching your videos makes everything a bit more bearable.

I bought the game for my birthday, after playing on my roommates island for two months. I time travelled back to May and played forward to present so that I could skip days and stuff because I had already helped complete the shops and stuff once, now I mostly play in real time
spoilers about new NPC mechanics early testing has shown that you should get all nine NPCs within a two week period, all completely random, so that should help with Redd
Putting flowers in front of trees help measure the distance between you and the tree I've found. Simply get as close to the flowers as you can without stepping in them. (Also happy diving! I'm loving the update and I hope you have lots of fun too!)

I'm not a huge time traveller, I have done it a few times but for the most part I try to avoid it. But when I had Redd this week I time travelled a few times to get more art from him. I would love to get it without time travelling but I literally went over a month with him not being on my island. And at that rate I was never going to finish my museum. So, I ended up getting 5 art pieces from him that day.
i passed out on the livestream, re-watched it all this morning and nearly bawled when you left Zucker when I was on the hunt for him. He's my birthday twin, but I'm happy you got Sherb!
i just found a funny bug while diving. if you jump into the water with your construction helmet on and you try to close it in the water you still have the nookphone in your hand and it glows under water even while diving :)
Your villager hunt was epic! I'm glad I was there (Lunar_Feather) to witness your entire, painful journey. Rain doesn't seem to change the sea creatures you find. It's been sunny on my island today and I've caught the same ones you did.
i think one of the nook miles achievements is based on the total number of creatures u catch, but the other is based on new creatures/finding all the diff types of creatures (hence filling out ur critterpedia) !
with the nook miles, one of them is how many total sea creatures (for example if you got 2 sea stars it would be 2) and the other is how many in your critterpedia (for example if you got 2 sea stars it’s 1 in the critterpedia)
Did not go through all the comments... Pascal will only take the first scallop you catch. Any others you catch that day will be ignored (at least, that's how it went in New Leaf). As for fast sea critters.. in New Leaf the octopus and scallop were pretty fast, as were several of the crabs and the lobster. The octopus and scallop aren't all that fast in this game, but I can confirm the lobster is fast and hard to catch if you don't luck into diving right on top on it. I just chased one all over the north and east side of my island. Also looks like they may not be able to escape under the netting like they did in New Leaf. Could be wrong but the lobster came really close to the netting and turned back instead of going under it. Also, getting art from Redd can be a pain. Even in New Leaf, it was very sporadic (I literally went three months without a single visit). i think the devs think this is how you prolong the game, but it truly can be very annoying. I don't necessarily want to be able to fill the museum in a month, but having at least one piece of real art per visit would be nice.

Had a great time diving this morning! Btw, the sea creature that swims really fast is the Gigas Giant Clam, I spent a good minute trying to catch it
Man, you’re lucky. I spent a good 5 minutes swimming after the Gigas Giant Clam. That think was fast!
The giant isopod and the vampire squids do as well! I kinda already caught all of the sea creatures in the northern hemisphere already 😶

To do the flip you just have to be on a rock or one of those boards.
The depth for swinging the bug net is so off compared to the other games. I still don't have it down.
