Honey I went with my brothers, dad and mom to see this when I was 14 and it was also the same night that I had my first babysitting gig in a rich ass neighborhood in a huge mansion with no curtains and huge windows. My brothers kept calling me (blocking their number) on my cell and their house phone messing with me. I was in HELL.

Something I realized years ago is there are small pcoket knives that come on keychains. Not sure on the legality in different areas but it lets a person look like they are just holding their keys when they are actually armed and no trading off a weapon for a key. If you have it arranged right, you can hold/use the key while having the blade ready. Thankfully I living in an area/avoid situations where I would feel a need but its an option. Also antique hat pins just look like pretty things but they can do DAMAGE. To the point that back in the day ones of a certain size were banned. Similarly some boaches/pins have a serious spike. Both can be used like the keys as a finger dagger, then put back in place. If you dont feel likewearing it another option is pinning it to a purse, wallet, bag, or shoes/laces.

I actually recently re-watched this movie as well and I was amazed at seeing so many old faces that now have prominent acting careers. Back then they were relatively unknown but now they are so recognizable. It's almost inspiring because you realize how long and hard they have been working to get where they are now, especially as an actor myself:

I had totally forgotten about this movie! This is one of those late 90s/ early 2000s horror movies that is SO late 90s/ early 2000s that it's just fun no matter what happens in the plot. But this is kid's play. This is the shallow end of the home invasion movie pool. The Strangers? Good, but mild. This movie? Tense, sure, but where's the existential horror? Check out "Inside." It's a French film, but it has an American remake. Put it on a poll. Now THAT is a movie that will make you put fifteen locks on your doors.

never saw this remake, but the first 20 minutes of the original fucked me UP.
the rest of the movie is kinda awful until the very end, but that opening. holy shit. terrifying, and i am not easy to scare.
the sequel is actually kinda cool also. has a very unique twist.

DUUUDE-- if the first twenty minutes of the film hadn’t scared me enough, the ending sure did… when he was in the SAME BED with the woman he attempted to kill years ago and finally came back to finish what he started- goosebumps! I almost CRIED.
