Antonio Lucio Vivaldi (4 March 1678 - 28 July 1741) was an Italian Baroque musical composer, virtuoso violinist, teacher, and priest. Born in Venice, the capital of the Venetian Republic, he is recognized as one of the greatest Baroque composers, and his influence during his lifetime was widespread across Europe. He composed many instrumental concertos, for the violin and a variety of other instruments, as well as sacred choral works and more than forty operas. His best-known work is a series of violin concertos known as the Four Seasons. Many of his compositions were written for the all-female music ensemble of the Ospedale della Pietà, a home for abandoned children where Vivaldi (who had been ordained as a Catholic priest) was employed from 1703 to 1715 and from 1723 to 1740. Vivaldi also had some success with expensive stagings of his operas in Venice, Mantua and Vienna. After meeting the Emperor Charles VI, Vivaldi moved to Vienna, hoping for preferment. However, the Emperor died soon after Vivaldi's arrival, and Vivaldi himself died, in poverty, less than a year later. *Painting ..The Lion of St.Mark ...with a Bible that says: "Peace to you Mark, My Evangelist"

There's nothing wrong with being a casual listener! You absolutely do not need intimate knowledge of a topic to be a "real" fan of it - it clearly brings you a lot of joy, and that's all that really matters! Very slim chance that it would be of benefit for a music lover to magically appear in that time. Any given person living during the baroque period would be very unlikely to ever enjoy this music, since only the absolute elite (and their nearest servants) would have the chance. Urban elite settings in only the very few, most culturally evolved, cities of Europe (usually the ones with the most powerful royal halls) at that. Similar melodies, in a crude form, could be enjoyed in folk music, since composers has always been inspired by folk music. We are in the best of times to enjoy this music. How do you reckon Vivaldi to be underrated?

I usually don't listen to all movements of the pieces of other composers. BUT.............I desperately wait for the second movement of Vivaldi's concertos. Vivaldi knew how to send the feelings from the ears straight to the heart. Everytime I listen to the second movement of his works, the beauty pierces my heart like a sword. I can't take the whole beauty inside my heart. I usually have to pause the video for sometime to breathe. Such a beauty and emotions Vivaldi's concertos have.

ALL of Vivaldi’s pieces needs this much views and likes
We dont fully understand how lucky we are to play this music whenever and whereever we want to!
I'm so glad I can hear Vivaldi from this century. Like a time machine!
I learned to play this on the violin when I was in high school. I now listen to it through my Bluetooth headset when I am flying. Such a relaxing experience to be in the sky while listening to Vivaldi!!!!!
When you said "when I am flying" I thought to myself: "this guy must be traveling often" and then I looked at your profile picture and realised you are a PILOT. So very cool!
@@inyourgame6131 thanks...fly as much as possible...it is definitely a lot of fun!!!
Two tears just slipped away from my eyes. Don't know why, but it just happened
He was both one of the greatest composers ever and one of the greatest violinists ever, two for the price of one, when Vivaldi comes to you, it's because, somehow, you've earned it
Oh this is the music my soul has been searching for all these years!
Its so beautifull ! I did 12 years of violin and I continue to love this concerto.
Every healthy mind have to listen classic music, especially in this century.
I can't agree more
That opening though... fantastic. Caught my full attention immediately.
100% confirmado

Sometimes I wish I could be one to live in the Baroque period and experience the living Gods at music. This is fabulous, definitely underrated.
StrawberryHero Eh, you probably wouldn't be able to experience it though. Music was reserved for the wealthy back in the time.
StrawberryHero nope it's not underated. It's lived for hundreds of years. U call that underated? It's had it's time over, and over and over again. It it rest. No pun intended.
Why the fuck would anyone want to go to that horrible time in history
No you are ignorant. U descibe music branche like utopia. It was not like that. Being a Christian does not mean anything like u described it. Everyone was a Christian. Music like that
was a privilege and that's a fact
Vivaldi. A maestro .by no other .Bravo.
Imagine how much it must've sucked to only hear songs like this on special occasions or to play it yourself, provided you had the time and skill to learn to play this well.
I'm in voluntary quarantine at home these days, and the Presto is perfect for some crazy cardio-dancing around the house to get the heart pumping !
OMG, I'm absolutely agree with this!
tea.rex The Presto is my jam 😩😩😩
*VIVALDI's* music is wonderful, this is tranquility and peace. It is a balm for the soul.
But he can also push out fiery rage at will...
Tranquility but wild
I love that combination

Hermoooosaaaa!! obra, grande maestro Vivaldi.
My God, Allegro is very powerful but Presto... Presto really does it for me! Easily my number 1 among Vivaldi's compositions. I've been visiting this place for years and keep coming back for more. In my book, this is the correct tempo, the correct energy for this piece.
Wondeful!!! I wish I was in Venice drinking coffee and hearing this music...
Senza parole.Padrone dei violini in progressione ❤️
Belleza como pocas veces el hombre creó. Gracias Vivaldi por haber existido...

👍
I listened to this on the Seoul subway for the first time and was intrigued when I was a child
call me a modern phillistine but vivaldi is one of my favorite classical composers because he operates in a style that includes lots of really active *rhythm* and bounce to his fancy art music
it just makes it so tuneful and joyous compared to a lot of later developments in the classical and romantic periods.
he isn't classical, he is baroque.
This is hitting me like hard rock does.
Seriously. I'm really feeling this and damn near jumping out of my chair it's that intense for me.
Try "La Follia" by... Vivaldi...you'll jump up and down
@@theokatcha6026 You were absolutely right. Sorry about the late reply. Absolutely a masterpiece of music. I think Vivaldi has become my favourite classic composer.

All composers are brilliant. Vivaldi is one of my favourites.
Vivaldi seem to have the capacity of translating his emotions in joyful repertoire like a flower that blossom in spring.,like the smell of a perfume that titillates the nose.A delicate joyful sensation always keep you on the path of sweet remembrance.
La musique de Vivaldi apaise mon esprit ❤
Simply fantastic Vivaldi

@@carlosc5196 It is written "Pax tibi Marce, evangelista meus" which translates as "The Peace be with you, Mark, my evangelist", in an inscription that indicates his grave is in Venice.
There is only one God and one Antonio Vivaldi! Che genio!!!
I believe he and Mozart are the two greatest composers ever. Their music wasn't the music to march armies by. Its the music of the soul, the music that at a base level is akin to musical DNA.

Vivaldis music is touches every desire and need.his music expresses the spiritual, great joy, grandeur, majesty, excitement even sadness.only j.s. bach comes close.you will never find it in mozart, beethoven, nor haydn or the so called greats.vivaldi was blessed by god to bless the world and vivaldi did just that.he longed to be a priest but was ill and he expressed some of his spirituality in some of the greates spiritual music.
Never thought of myself as someone who would be interested in classical music but found a new side of myself after listening to Vivaldi

Beautiful, perfect! Extremely wonderful and delicate ❤❤❤❤
Many thanks to all those fantastic musicians who dedicate their lives studying Vivaldi's music and of so many other composers and perform their pieces for us to listen and enjoy. You make our world (society wise) so beautiful. It would really be unbearable without music for the majority of mankind tends to destroy the cosmos (from the Greek word meaning jewel) as we care more about the material and not for the soul.
