Seems like it answers the 'gays on the street' question quite well. 2) Piers made a very good argument in the beginning about migrants; All of these workers are given substantially better lives and money to support their families back home. I've lived in Dubai, most of the labour workers quite literally come from slums with a horrible life expectancy and no capability to support their wives or children. Yes the deaths are unfortunate but the alternative is to let the labourers and their families literally die from poverty back home. Qatar simply cannot afford to hire the same number of migrants and yet give them all comfortable lives. They can either hire 'less workers' and up the pay scale at the expense of bringing over less migrants (and thereby helping less people and dooming the rest to a fate worse than death) or help as many as they can with a better livelihood. Everything is relative, hence for the west to criticise Qatar is hypocritical considering practically no Western country cares or helps these poor workers.

I`m a woman from Poland and I believe that other nationalities should be respected, especially when they host such a big event like this. This isn`t the time for political correctness, fighting with arguments and domination of one's own views over other people. Qatar has been drawn and the most important thing is that everyone who decides to go there must be safe. Since it`s a Muslim country, you have to be aware that there are different rules than in Great Britain. For me it`s easier to understand, because in my country the right of an individual can`t exceed the right of society, faith, culture. It is true that Poland is a Catholic country (churches are almost everywhere), but I understand the idea of not showing intimacy in public places, provoking others isn`t a good idea. We Poles are always serious, everyone is busy with their own thoughts and problems, holding hands isn`t eye-catching, but the rest of feelings you can show your other half are distasteful, inappropriate. What you do in the privacy of your own homes is your business. Society must abide by certain rules... and violating them can result (at its mildest) in a sharp exchange with someone who will be disturbed by the misbehavior. Freedom can`t be without limits... people need to know what they can and can`t do. Let's start the discussion with what unites us and then we can try to talk about what divides us and why. Let's respect each other, let's get to know each other, let's use this time for something positive.

Here's a strange odd feeling....I'm actually starting to like this new & improved 'Piers Morgan'. He's spitting out facts.
He's comparing LGBTQ attitudes in Qatar now to in England in 1966. He doesn't challenge the "400" number at all. And he backs off the "OK to be gay in the street" topic really fast. The only fact he "spat" is that the UK backed an illegal invasion... then says he was a newspaper editor who could lead a campagn against government policy.
@@nicholascoldicott9569 400 in 12 years for such a big project . Seems a lot but compare it to European countries .
@@nicholascoldicott9569 it's not really complicated;
1) The Qatari explained that "any public display of affection" is not in line with social norms and culture irrespective of whether it was heterosexual or homosexual (i.e. what people do behind closed doors is their business and not the government's concern).
@@samwats7892 I guess I interpreted the fella’s reply differently. He seemed to squirm at the question. I’ve no idea what it’s like there, but Human Rights Watch paints a very different picture.
You're right, there are different rules, like the one that Imprisons women that have been raped.
Very very well said....

I have to say, I've never been a fan of Piers but his impartial and informative coverage of this particular topic has been brilliant and simply refreshing. Western media outlets, particularly in the UK have been absolutely disgraceful and tactless in what seems like outright smearing of this special event. We all know they don't give a donkey's ass about human rights or migrant workers and one can only speculate as to what the underlying agendas could be but it doesn't take a genius to connect the dots. Hats off to Qatar too, they've done an amazing job on ALL levels for this world cup. They really seized the opportunity to not only showcase Islamic and Arab culture for what it truly is, but the infrastructure and organisation from day 1 has been at the highest level, they've really set the bar! Let's see how the word cup in the US looks like next 🤣 . Well done to Qatar and congrats to the Qatari people!
Living in Qatar as an expat for 8 years so far. This is a very safe country, very welcoming to families, free medical care if you are a resident or lower payment for private clinics as compared to my home country. Extremely low gas prices, extremely low public transportation costs, no taxes on salary, there are areas where you can find very affordable accommodation, places where it is extremely cheap to eat, and places of worship for Christians. The Christian community here is large. Qatar is very respectful and very open to expats like us. My family has lived here for many years now, and many other families when they go back home to our country, they wanted to come back.
Of course, if you would do something illegal, that is where the law would be very strict.

If the laws of Qatar were implemented by European countries or America, the media would not talk about them for a simple reason. They are not Muslims. For example, Palestine and Ukraine. They support Ukraine and ignore Palestine. Ozil and Germany
We're legit witnessing a Piers Morgan redemption arc. Man speaks exactly whats on his mind and is not afraid to back down, he invited andrew tate twice even though he is a highly controversial individual, he interviewed cristiano ronaldo, and he is starting to bring corrupt topics to light. Hats off Piers, Keep it up.
tate is not "highly controversial", he's a scummy criminal who scams kids/teens who will in return promote him on social media.
He's bathing in the blood of his enemies to catch the attention of their fans. Classic move
Lol he is the corrupt one. He is ltierally giving this government operative free reigns to spread propaganda with no push back. Migrant deaths actually total 6500 at minumum. Most of whom were enslaved by the Qatar regime.
You've earned my respect which was previously lost from the Andrew interview, good job Piers. Beautiful interview!
It takes two to make a good interview. Well played both of them. That was great!
I have to say this is the best interview with Piers that I’ve seen so far ! Big respect!!!
This sort of conversation/interview is what I call constructive and progressive, where mutual respect is key and move on with understanding each other’s values, concern and criticism.
It´s weak journalism
Your honesty is simply incredible. Thank you Piers.
Great interview.. best of luck to Qatar and all the countries in the region and to the rest of the world
It was only worker issue in Qatar !! What about next world cup holding in America where people life isn’t even safe at school!!!!! Why media isn’t talking about it
A world cup where everyone has a F gun in his or her pocket
Be right now it’s about qatar
"I do want England to win... It'd be great to have English Football history connected to Qatar forever." nicely said
And we looking forward to it, especially how BBC gonna portray their Champions in morally trouble place under their definition.
Yeah Liverpool to this day remember Istanbul
It would amazing if all of England remember Qatar
that woke team being remembered? the fucking nightmare...and all of them rated as "world class" including Maguire, JESUS CHRIST.
we all know England doesn't have a chance against big teams lol
@@therealone714 They definitely do, I'd say their only serious contender is Brazil, they have a pretty good chance against all other teams, Germany has been playing very poorly, so has Argentina, and France has many key players injured, this is the best chance the English will get
Thank you piers for showing another side to this world cup.
