Coming from a third-world country, there were some things that were much higher priority than people's sexual orientation, like food, security, education. Am Kenyan, and am here to support our former president (even the current president has the same stand). The issue of homosexuality is at the very bottom of the list of the things we care about, actually it's not even on the list. We just don't care about this issue, we have a number of Kenyan celebrities who have publicly come out as gay, but nothing has happened to them. No one cares about their sexual lives. But, when they start promoting it on media and other spaces, that's where we draw a very thick line.

That is not at all true, many many examples don't want to make you appear a fool but the Greeks and Romans for example where hetero or homo sex was not how they perceived it only as the "dominant" "penetrator" and the one "submissive" regardless of male or female, however, it must be noted that the Greek homosexual relations were potentially and possibly likely pedophilic in nature with Spartans taking young men and minors as their sexual partners. At best nobody had care to give in the early "colonial" United States, at worst it was "Tolerated" Widely by most. Saying it is a holdover from the Colonial area could be seen as true from some sense I suppose as the British had a wide and broad law criminalizing Sodomy in all their states, colonies, and other lands and controlled assets. Also in an article I just read from centaur.reading.ac.uk, there are indications that British-controlled colonies that have become free states and the like do have a higher likelihood of criminalizing Sodemy. This does not mean that they somehow have this relict power over these states it is just a statistic, nothing can really say whether or not these states are doing this because of their Colonial histories or not. I'm a bit baffled by people who die hard in favor of gay rights while paying no mind to other more important issues such as hunger and the keeping of the atomic family. For example, I'm sure adultery and domestic violence is a much more prevalent issue. Children need parents. The promotion of homosexuality is intrinsically anti parent because it is the opposite of matrimony for the purpose of having a family.
Coming from a third-world country, there were some things that were much higher priority than people's sexual orientation, like food, security, education. I understand where this president is coming from, but the west, seems to think it can impose its beliefs on everyone. Some people are just trying to survive, and these issues are the least of their concerns.
Kenya law calls to imprison gays for up to 14 years. That is not "culture" or "moral belief". It is human rights violation. It is a falsehood to suggest that simply abolishing such a law would somehow interfere with solving other problems of food or security.
