A lot of times if you spend too much on your main residence it usually won't add value to the house when you want to sell. They watch too much grand design forgetting that any amount you invest in your main home is sunk cost and usually unrecoverable when you want to sell. Forget about what the banks tell you about what the value of your property is. You will find out the true cost when you sell it! We need to understand finance and money management

😁😁😁 People always think the other groups are good at something their group is lacking. They are not. Asians borrow money from each other to start businesses and if they don't repay it's h e l l to pay. Many of them are gamblers. If you go to a race track or casinos you'll see them there. Have you noticed they are in their business 24/7 and they seldom go on vacation? That's because they have debt. I have them as inlaws. They would considered good business people to those who don't know how much of a gambler they are.

Returning a vehicle in the middle of a contract is known as a voluntary repossession. It's unhealthy for your credit & can affect you for a lengthy period. Also it could have been informative to find out if the Range was a lease or purchase. Range Rovers have bad resale value & depreciate rapidly. Regardless, the individual seems to be keeping up with the jones.

What is your Net Worth …
Net worth is the value of all your assets, minus your liabilities.
Some of us are in negative net worth…
While your income could help in wealth building, your spending habits gives you the speed to go further or backwards.
Some of us behave like we have hot charcoal in our hands when we have money… spend .. spend…. spend .
Ask yourself if I continue to spend this way in my productive years how will I fund my lifestyle in my none productive years if I don’t practice financial discipline and delay gratification.
Nothing wrong in living basic or frugal if and when you can.

However, when you have a family, you must let your head assist you in decisions not your heart. It's a no brainer for me....drop the Range and get something more affordable because of the greater good i.e. the sanity of the family

For many outside the UK & US. These are usually the reasons for marital breakdown in the diaspora. When you both come struggling to having good jobs but, you've moved with certain groups with these status competition. You want self preservation of your outward status despite losing your job and struggling to secure another. You put your children and wife through Hell by keeping hold of this stoopid car that depreciates. You'd rather that your children receive rubbish education than give up material vanity stuff. You live a lie outside meanwhile your family are suffering. You are packaging yourself outside to be among the 'Big Boys'. Your car is a status symbol so that the respect. Buying Aso-ebi and the accessories with designer labels is your priority. Yet, you can't invest in your child's education. I can't understand this 'keeping up with the Joneses'. Unless, you are a Doctor - Registrar level upwards- that can never be unemployed ( in the diaspora) except that you are struck off, don't flex living a life of fakery or seeking peer validation because you want your peers to 'see me now'.

Job security is low, no pension contributions, no holiday, sick pay etc and the lead time between end of contract and finding a new role can be protracted at times.

I don’t get why people can’t live outside London like up north or cheaper places….why? And it’s mostly black peoples who can’t afford it…..

The new Range Rover is already out (5th Generation); so his Range is old already, poor chap, its not easy to publicly drop status. i wish him and his wife resolve this amicably

Well...it's easy if you make it so especially considering circumstances that's not in your control. It's difficult only if you feel like you have to make appearances, much like how people portray their lives on Instagram.

Hi Frankie good morning, I like your videos, one thing I've learned on your videos is that " don't play God " when you live overseas and go back to visit , what ever you are saying goes out to every human being not only Nigerians

The guy should give up the car, they will only talk about you for a short while and move on. So many bad financial decisions, 2 car notes, loans for home improvement. Phrankleen not sure about UK but on the USA there are so many financial literacy programs/podcasts you tube. Eg dave Ramsey, financial independence retire early (FIRE) that folks could educate themselves from.

Yup, all that is here in the UK. The issue is, our African people do not listen. Many are concerned with appearing rich and well off than making good financial decisions.

    He didn't realise he's bankrupt.
Somebody said he should have used it to make money. Hmmm. I used to work with a company in Lagos, My boss got a good deal from this oil company and used bought a lot of cars. One day he had a meeting with the client's MD, he just looked at him funny like man 'what I want is get my job done.'
Also this idea you escape liability by putting on cooperation might not be true. Recently the biggest real estate investor in China was order to pay off debt of $300b. All these ideas really don't work. The best advise is just don't get in a mess.
