    The Elephant Walk.
    Highly Effective.
Used in both Physiotherapy and Advanced Gymnastics.
Also a component of Kit Laughlin’s “Stretch Therapy” as well as Ben Patrick’s (KneesOverToesGuy)‘s ATG System for strengthening and lengthening the hamstrings against injury.
The Elephant Walk (which you do stationary and not actually a ‘walk’) is Criminally underrated exercise that is actually proven to work. The name comes from the raised hips and butt swaying side to side throughout the course of the movement.
    10/10 recommend to everybody

what if I have back pain does this work as effectively with a straight back?

Hi Oren - The important thing for you here is to NOT train through pain. Work with whatever range of motion you have and slowly ease into this - if you need to keep a straight back at first to avoid pain that will still help, just not as much.

I think the elephant walk was originally invented for healing back pain.

U can even have your hands more elevated than using bricks. Maybe a box would work better for u? By doing this u can eventually move down to the bricks and then palms on floor. It about finding your own level that is pain free and slowly build from there. U can adjust elevation lower when u are comfortable with where u are at. Lower slightly to where it can present a little more of a challenge but pain free

Your hamstrings are propably tight because your pelvis tips forward into anterior pelvic tilt and the hamstrings get already stretched out.. Stretching them further only screws you up more and more
