- So I documented building a house in the Philippines from start to finish to give you an idea of how they construct houses here in the province areas, you can build a very nice house for very little money, it gives us an idea of what kind of materials they use and the cost to completely construct a simple province house it only took a month to be finished and only one builder was working on it.!

Sorry to see what happened to MelJeans home, hopefully future repairs will include cement and hollow block. It may cost more, but it will be a safe house in turbulent times for her and her friends and family. Best of luck...

can you do a vid on land prices tom , it be very interesting to see how much an acre cost.
Foreigners cannot own land in the Philippines, you’ll need either a citizen as a partner who’ll actually hold title to the land or a lease contract with the government. Read up on some sad stories of foreigners that have lost their investments when partnerships have gone bad.

Did they tape and mud the joint on the hardiflex and gypsum board or did they do something else, it is hard to tell cause you moved fast and it is all white!
Im interested to know why the top of the septic tank is sealed off and there is no breather vent,or access point to pump it out when its full.Thanks.

I would have liked to see the process on that cement countertop. I've seen the finished product before when polished and they're pretty nice. We were going to do that on one of my rental houses, but i was too chicken to try it.

Wish I could have seen our house being built like yours Tom and MJ. I was working in Melbourne as mine was getting built in Camotes Island. At least my gf Liza take pictures of the house getting built Tom. Started in September 2017 n done by mid Dec just a couple days before I fly in

The builders didn't hang around did they. Only thing I don't like is the gap between the roof and walls. I would want that sealed to stop bugs/animals getting inside. 4000 Dollars so cheap.

Hi Guys, wow just wow, how nice you can make a decent small home for so little is amazing to say the least. But what was the cost of the house to register it etc, and did you get the title deeds, not yourself of course? plus do you have to pay for land tax each yr.? I think I know what I shall be putting my money into when i come, helping some families out I am sure.

so misleading dude....yes your house cost 4k us but what you left out was some very important facts. you forgot the kano tax if you did this without a local your prices would have doubled or more. . next, a foreigner cannot own land in the phil so unless you marry a local, forget about owning unless it is a condo. you state land is cheap in the province but yet again, unless you marry a local, forget cheap land prices and you got family land wihich is very fortunate.
