Reading all the remarks about this mower I will tell you this. I bought a Hustler Fas trak 54 inch deck and you are going to have problems with any mower.
My deck vibrates at low rpm. I paid $7916.00 for my mower.
I been doing research on zero turn mowers for over 2 months. As far as quality a price the Arian mower is a good mower. It's a got a great deck a powerful engine a strong frame a excellent spindle system.
I have a 35 year old craftsman GT 6000 garden tractor and it still works.
It's all in how you take care of your equipment. If he takes care of his mower I would say it will outlast him. A mower is only as good as the operator. I've seen people tear up a anvil in a sand bead.

I see it's got serviceable zt3100 hydro transmissions. And I have a Hustler Fas trak and the control leavers don't return back to center either.
My tires have to have air also. I think you made a good choice. Dollar for dollar I think Arian iss a good buy. I see where a lot of people or buying them.
My next door neighbor just bought one.

I purchased an ariens apex april 2018 this mower is a beast. I use it cmmmerically. j mow large estates in northwestern Connecticut. have 168 hours on it. no problems so far. been in lawn maintance 40 years had most every comm. lawn mower made and this machine is great for the money I paid for it. the tires are better than most other mowers. great traction on hills has the 3100 hydro gear transmissions they are comm trans.sometimes not everything is adjusted right from the start.so if you are unhappy with this machine take it back. go buy a scagg lol lol doesn't sound like u have much experience with comm. lawn equipment. nothing wrong with the height adjustment lever when travling on a trailer that's why it locks . just keep up on the maintance oil changes when it time greasing it adjusting things when needed. mine carries a comm warrenty one year. happy mowing dude

Both decent engines, the Kawasaki has better torque , better cutting in thick ,deep,or wet grass. Has better starter, last longer.

If the handles had springs on them to spring back that would cause arm pump and not enjoyable to mow.

i like how the levers dont spring back to nuetral. if you have to let go to get a bug off you, the mower will stay more stable.
i have the 60 inch deck, i really like the mower except for a few things. 1. the seat pivot hinge is cheap and rattly, they could have done better, 2. the deck vibrates quite a bit with the blades on and low speed, seems to not be balanced well. 3. when you turn off the blades(clutch), the electric clutch makes a loud rattle noise. took my mower in to get looked at and they said turn the clutch off only at high speed, did that and still has the problem. can you tell i hate rattles? i think for asking price they could have put a little more effort into the rattle problems. but other than that its a good mower. i think it should be priced more around 4k like the hustler sd. they would sell a lot more of them.... fyi, cuts great in low and high grass.

DAN KOLLARS I notice it is cutting ok in high grass but I can't cut near as well with this compared to the deere riders I've used. Granted those are a x749, a 1025r, and a 36 inch walk behind. They just dont bog down in stuff that slows this to a crawl.

I actually had to sell it because I lost my job. If I am being honest, pay the little extra and go with the gravley commercial. I think its alright for a homeowner as long as its dry out. Any water and you have zero traction and can't get out of any problem areas. Hills suck and there are alot of minor annoyances if you use it for anything commercial. I ended up mounting a winch to the front a lawn I did that had a few wet areas near a lake. In short for home use i would say hell yea but anything bordering commercial use go with a more dealer type brand like gravley, deere, Husqvarna, etc. Parts are OK to get but I had to go to a dealer for ALL of them and they usually had to order anything not basic maintenance. So don't expect to buy blades from anyone else. Would I buy again? Flat big yard, yes, 100%. But if you plan to do snow or anything else, buy a rider with all wheel steer from a dealer, not from a box store and your good. Currently using a deere 455 that I am restoring (gotta get the rest of the vids up) and its alot more versatile then the zero turn. Slower by about 45 minutes on 3.5 acres but can do more with it.

Sold it a few years ago. Was a semi decent mower once I got used to it. Zero turns were not the mower to use for the areas I had to mow though. Kept getting stuck so mounted a winch to the front and I hated that it was gas. Have a 455 john deere diesil now with all wheel steer and it's a much better mower. More comfortable and can mow all my lawns 3 or 4 times before having to fill up.

bad machine.spindels get loose, deck connections must reweld everyone of them, cracks ,muffler loses the outlet pipe, front wheels are welded badly(in ruff land they just snap off-one side weld),,cheap, powerful but badly welded everything.otherwise good machine.
