I'm so glad it was helpful. There are a lot of great accounts out there, but these are the ones I personally use and like the most. Let me know if you have a specific question.
** The interest rates have changed. They are currently 4% (Ally) and 4.5% (Wealthfront and SoFi). Try Ally: bit.ly/48nuPWt Try SoFi: bit.ly/4dxGtzZ Try Wealthfront: bit.ly/41Mr8XG
Thanks for the informative video. I am curious about their customer service and how well you are able to reach a live human being. Have you had any experience with contacting a representative over the phone?
Good question! Ally has great customer service via chat or phone. When you're logged in, it will tell you the wait time. SoFi has a bot that will respond via chat. I've never actually called and talked to a person - but I have had 1 or 2 people leave comments saying they got a hold of someone on the phone. I have never tried anything with Wealthfront's customer service.
@BrittanyFlammer Thank you so much for responding. I do appreciate you for that. I actually found a phone number and called them. The woman I spoke to was nice and answered my questions. However, she did mention that their customer service is more for customers who have urgent matters.
I heard about Laurel Road from Dave Ramsey co-host George Camel here on UA-cam, currently offering 4.8% interest rate as of October 2024. Brittany have you heard anything about them? I currently use SoFi and am loving how easy the ACH transfer is and also there’s no transfer fee unless you do the faster type of wire transfer. Thanks for the info!
Yes - I'm familiar with them. I haven't used them personally, but they are FDIC insured and I've heard good things about them. They look like they would be a good bank - I just like the visual separation with the other accounts so I haven't personally tried it out.
This was amazing information. :) i was curious to know how long was the sign up process and also of it had any monthy fees and minimum balances?. Lastly where can I find the referrals link for wealthfront. Thanks ahead of time for answering my question. Subbed btw.
I'm glad it was helpful. The sign up process for all of them is usually just a few minutes for you to enter in all your info. Depending on how you fund your account it can take a few days to actually get money into it. No monthly fees for any of them and no minimum balances. Wealthfront referral link to get the extra .5% is here: bit.ly/41Mr8XG
Some places say Sofi top interest rate only for direct deposit or 5k/month into it. So if i was looking to transfer 25-30k into Sofi account would it be smarter to do it all at once or 5k/month for 6 months?
Totally understandable. I've never personally had any problem - but if it makes you uncomfortable definitely go with another bank. That being said....anytime you put your info online there's a risk and Ally isn't the only bank it's happened too. But there are a lot of other great banks to choose from. if you don't want to risk it.
This was very helpful! I’m off to watch your in depth videos on each. Thanks Brittany!

I know SOFI is very fast for transferring funds when I use it.
Thanks for sharing your personal experience!!

I've used and like both of those options. Why can't you use ally anymore?

If you're not planning on setting up direct deposit, then I'd recommend doing 5k/month to get the higher rate.
Is there a way to fake a direct deposit each week automated? Or do it from another account? No matter the amount will I get the APY rate?
Ally Bank data breach makes me nervous.
