    Doing my 52 Weekly Challenge through SOFI Invest with my individual brokerage account. Only buying SFY ETF for this challenge. The total contribution for the year will be $1,378.00. Will see what the return will be. Planning on doing this each year. Just opened a ROTH and transferring some money in there. Starting to like SOFI more as my online bank and my second brokerage. Still will keep my local credit union as my main bank and also Fidelity as my main brokerage. Never know what will happen in 5 years with SOFI. Hope they continue to grow and improve. Thanks for all your videos!

      It's 100% app right now. Only on IOS. You can download the app to your desktop and use your computer (as long as it's a mac). But no web interface. Supposedly that's coming in 2024 sometime, but I haven't heard anything about it.

    Hey Brittany, I came across your videos yesterday as I have been actively testing out various budgeting applications to find the best fit. First off, your videos are great for many people who need some straightforward information in conjunction with demonstrative visuals. So thank you! Just sharing my experience with Copilot.. Copilot isn’t my preferred application, but so far hasn’t had syncing issues with my bank. My preference and hope was to use EveryDollar (based on tested apps thus far) but having to re-sync and manage duplicate transactions is more than I would like to manage and work through..

      I haven't had any problems at all. One of my other banks is same day eligible, so I can have the money transferred into my other account the same day. It's insanely fast. Another of my banks isn't eligible, so it takes a couple of business days (just the standard for most banks).

      Hmmm... it should work for you. As a referrer I also earn the .5% bonus. It's for 3 months for both of us. As a referrer I can only earn up to 6 months of extra bonus (ie...if 2 people signed up). After that it's still supposed to work for anyone that uses my link, but I don't get an extra bonus beyond the 6 months. I don't get any personal information about who signs up, but I do get notified when someone uses my link to signup and they get the bonus. I received an email today with someone getting the bonus. I've checked out the link and it seems to be working when I try it in incognito. I have no idea why else it wouldn't be working for you, unless you're already a customer with wealthfront?

    How do you recommend that I use "GOALS"? Should they be entirely separate or can they connect to the other budget categories that are grouped? For instance.. you had a lot of categories as sinking funds grouped. Could you make it a "GOAL" that these sinking funds could reach a certain value? Or will that lead to "double budgeting" in the app" Also.. what if I have a rollover account (category)... I want to save for a new dishwasher for instance (50 USD a month). If I have an actual bank account that I need to tranfer that to, how do I do that for it to reflect in the budget? If I log it for the category of dishwasher then I will have 100 USD to rollover instead of just 50 USD. That's not very logical?? How should I do this?

    I do both grocery shopping and get my pharmacy meds and walmart pharmacy. On my credit card statement the transactions end up in two different categories, such as "Healthcare/Medical" and/or "Groceries" Is there a way to see that in Monarch?

    • @BrittanyFlammer
      @BrittanyFlammer 11 днів тому

      I know exactly what you mean....in my experience they will come in as the same category even if they show up differently on your cc. That's just what I've seen, but I'm not sure about every specific situation. You could create rules to prevent this. For example, if you are getting a prescription every month for a specific amount you could create a rule that any transaction from that store for that amount is under health/medical. You could also message Monarch Money to ask about your specific store. To do this <help & support <contact support <get support with a human ..then explain your question.

      Yep! You create a transfer, type in how much you want to transfer, then select which bucket you want it to come out of. You can divide it up between multiple buckets if you want. If you don't specify which bucket you want it to come out of, it will come out of your default bucket. This can be set up in the settings.

    Hi I just turned 20 and want to be able to have generational wealth. I know nothing about apy or percents because I haven’t been taught. I assume Wealthfront is a good place to start for my savings? How much do you recommend I put in at first?

    • @BrittanyFlammer
      @BrittanyFlammer 11 днів тому

      Wealthfront is a great account for saving money. The younger you start the more interest will work on your side! If you're wanting to save money, the best place to start is with an emergency fund. Make sure you've got 3-6 months of money set aside for an emergency. An online savings account (like Wealthfront) is a great place to hold this money. After you've got an emergency fund, the next step would be investing your money. Most experts recommend investing 15% of your gross income.

    Can I roll over negative amounts with the sinking funds? For example, if I budget $1200/year ($100/month) for auto expenses, then pay $300 for an auto expense in January, can I roll over -$200 to the next month? Which will then become -$100? I'm a long-time user of YNAB but I don't like that it makes assign money to every dollar that was spend each month, as I like to think of my expenses in annual terms as there is too much variance month-to-month and I'm not living paycheck to paycheck. So I'm trying to figure out if Monarch lets me do this. Thanks!

      Yes - you can roll over negative amounts. It will work just like you described. I hope that helps. Good luck with it!

    Where does the Cash Back go? Do you need/get an Ibotta debit card?

    • @BrittanyFlammer
      @BrittanyFlammer 11 днів тому

      Nope. It accumulates in the app. You can see your balance at a glance in the top right corner. Once you've reached $20 you can withdraw it. You can transfer it to a bank account, get a gift card, or to paypal.

    Watched a couple of CIT review videos, love that your video is short, straight to the point, and shows the site interface, it's wonderful for potential customers to know what they are getting into and the ease of useability

    Great video! Question, so I am a bit confused about the roll over part. So the way I read it is, let’s say my in my pocket amount is $500. Will it roll that amount over to the next month since technically its $500 I do have and rolled over from the previous month that I didn’t end up using?

      Good question. Money from what's in our pocket doesn't roll over from one month to the next. If you want it to rollover , you have to create a cash transaction for the next month equal to what is left at the end of the current month. In your example, you would add a cash transaction of $500 so it gets added to your pocket for the next month. I hope that helps.

    It's sad to see how people close down an entire community after creating it, these Mint people, I'm pretty sure the intuit proposition was to close the app, and the Mint developer probably wasn't even thinking about it, until it was offered to them a briefcase with an irresistible offer.😡

      Sad. I know so many people who would have willingly paid for mint if it would have been an option.

    Help. If I draw down from an investment and use some of it for a holiday, is that considered a paycheck or make a fund with that money then take it out for the holiday.? Hope that made sense. It’s easy to track regular expenses and income but these “one off” from investments confuse me.

      It is a little confusing. You can do either that you mentioned. The first is probably easiest if it's an investment...just count it as income and then budget more for a holiday that month. Or you can put your investment money as a fund....but if it's invested it wouldn't be an accurate number, you'd have to update how much is in there before pulling it out. I hope that makes sense.

    I missed your live webinar by one day (ratz!). Just started checking your vids. Is there any way to get a copy of the webinar or will you post them here eventually?

      Send me an email at brittany@brittanyflammer.com and I can share the replay with you. Or you can put your name on the wait list...I'll be doing it again at the end of the summer. If you're interested in that, do it here: www.brittanyflammer.com/f/waitlist

    Thanks - this was very helpful. Do you know how I can delete a bucket? I created two for the same thing by accident.

      I'm so glad it was helpful! To delete a bucket on the computer: open up your savings account, select the bucket you want to delete. On the top left it will have the name of your bucket...just below that is the option to edit or to delete the bucket.
