It makes me think of moving in to a new home with the one you love, painting and putting books on shelves, and imagining where, in years to come, there will be pictures of family and friends hanging.
Not tears but smiles, i was with some skank for years, when i left her, i out the game on and waited till this came on, just smiled that i was out of it, then turned it off. Oh memories😃
I swear I cried listening to this for 2 reasons: 1- This song is so damm beautiful 2- It gave me memories and unimaginable nostalgia feelings THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS WITH US.
Jerry Martin is one of the great video game composers, man. From the forlorn progressive jazz that perfectly matched the impersonal city building of Sim City 3000 to the so-lame-they're-cool catchy themes of the shopping tunes from The Sims. And these solos are so beautiful and memorable.
@@wildnisimherzen i would always put two ;; at the end and it would cause an error so i could just keep pressing enter over and over making my money go up
Having listened to the original countless times, I've spotted some errors in this rendition/cover (such as 1:47 where he hits the wrong note and replays the previous couple, then continues) but they're really minor and corrected really quickly.
Wait, seriously? I just checked it out and there's a GameCube version of The Sims. And it looks way better graphically than the PC version (even though I still rather play the PC version). How come it was so unpopular? I mean, I'm no stranger to gaming and ports for Nintendo consoles, for crying out loud! This port deserves some recognition! >:(
You must have split personality to play this song. Unlike every other piece, this song doesn't only have complex left and right hand parts, they're also absolutely independent of each other. Like most pieces have left and right notes start on like the same beats, which makes them really easy, but this song is just crazy. Please tell me you had trouble with this stuff in the beginning too. (PS: This song and you inspired me to get a piano and learn to play).
Haha, Idk about split personality, maybe some corpus callosum structural improvements? It was definitely a challenge to learn this piece back then, but if you want a real independency challenge, try for example Chopin's fantaisie impromptu (16th notes over triplets) :D
Sorry but as a musician and piano player i have to say you're not correct at all, Just because its conventional doesnt mean its impossible to relate the right hand to the left. Sorry if i sound triggered but its the same with progressive music, people just think the instruments just have absolutely nothing to do with eachother, and its simply not true. I understand if you dont have a music brain its hard to hear, but you can break music down into like, i dunno, phases. On paper it'll look fucked up, but i promise you theres thought and relation between both the hands on this song, and pretty much all songs actually.
Damnnnn it... Sounds exactly like the original composition. Perfect! You just made my life…… to you, and to all who are listening to this! build your dreams ;)
That was absolutely beautiful. Outstanding work. Thank you. Can't tell you how many countless hours and sleepless nights I spent creating within that game. You made an awesome rendition of the Build Theme.
Congrats! You win the video game music appreciation award and all round musicianship award! Not only because I say so, but because you're that awesome!
You are extremely talented, and what a beautiful performance. As a fellow keyboard player, I really enjoyed listening to you play this nostalgic piece of The Sims music, it brings back happy memories. Thanks for posting.
Jerry Martin is the one of my favorite composer on the gaming theme song, beside the sims, i love his creation in the SimCity 3000 too! Thx Jerry Martin.
Its been a rough day for me so i looked this up just to listen to it because the music mixed with actually building was so relaxing I needed to be in that state again
Truly a masterpiece! One of my most memorable moments playing this game was listening to this track in building mode. You played it perfectly! Well done!
OMG!! Im gonna cry in school! So many memories of this game and wonders of music. When I get home from school I am gonna play the Sims 1 and do a video on it
Wow, as well as your brilliant performance the point that captured me was your ability to get an octave plus 2 quite comfortably... very tricky in parts of this piece. I have pianist's hands and can get an octave plus 1 comfortably, but only just 2. Bravo.
This is just brilliant! I have always loved to improvise upon this theme, but I have never seen such a perfect rendition! Wow! I am really really impressed!
NOSTALGIA HOLY CRAP ;-; I REMEMBER PLAYING THIS GAME The memories of this game are great :p I still have it on my laptop but I can't play it anymore :(
3 things, nice watch, is that a loaf of bread sitting atop your piano and fantastic playing. Anything Jerry Martin is always really complicated (to me anyway)
I remember picking up this game back in 2000? thinking hmm this looks interesting, turned out to be one of the best PC games ever, I was a freshman in highschool that year, great video 👍
If you play this song to a girl who love the sims, i'm sure she's going to love you forever.
+Ivanna Depp Actually, if he play this song to a man who love The Sims, he's going to love him forever too. XD
lol girl you should go ahead and @ me because that's me all day.

I tried as you taught me, but I'm failed. What's wrong?
where is this girl lol
My favorite build mode song . Brings me to tears .

Absolutely amazing, it's _just_ like the original piece.
I can't even feel the difference o.o
+CubeHead Same piano sound, same playing, no errors... So basically yeah, no difference x)
Just the tempo, but for bits. Its pretty much flawless.
Having listened to the original countless times, I've spotted some errors in this rendition/cover (such as 1:47 where he hits the wrong note and replays the previous couple, then continues) but they're really minor and corrected really quickly.
have noticed a couple of errors mainly to do with the octaves but an extremely well played piece nonetheless
This is what my UFC music would be when I walk out to fight
I used to build on The Sims for house just to listen to this piano rift.. Amazing!!
Me too....
Wonderful, The Sims 2, 3 and 4 will never be the same than The Sims 1, a Masterpiece that started everything
Great job. This looks extremely difficult but you did it perfectly
Thanks, mr. Lachance. May you walk always in the Shadow of Sithis.
this song makes me happy
You even played Jerry's mistake at 2:27 ! Haha Perfect. What a beautiful song for a great game :)
there are no mistakes in jazz ;)
The pianist is actually John R. Burr. He improvised this entire piece over the left hand idea and structure that Jerry wrote.
No mistake, it’s a technique called a trill.
Seriously... There's no mistake.
@@furrybear a trill is a rapid alternation between 2 notes. 🤔
So perfect :O If I close my eyes, I remember wen I was 10 and when I was in front of my Gamecube... Thanks a lot !

ambidiextrous is not being left nor right handed but both with the same skill
just amazing!! so many memories man! im gonna cry........
I'm dedicated to learning this. You play beautifully and thank you for inspiring me.
Dammit the nostalgia is making me cry!
The beginnin is like "okay I can play this" but after 0:18 "nope nope nope"
Can you do better?
I don't. I was talking about how I would try to learn this, not how he plays it. At 0:18 I WOULD be like "nope nope nope"
Iro LeRokh Oh that's fair enough XD Thank you for clearing that up.
with practice dude you can. Think positive
One of the greatest videogame soundtracks ever created.
I was 14 or 15 years that time I used to play
How time flies 😭
You're playing it so well I don't find any real difference with the original song. And I can tell you, I heard it a thousand times.
Ah....this is why it took such a long time for me to build anything in the sims! Such a soothing and beautiful melody *cries
Oh my gosh,It's just like the original one O.o
Ohh, how I love the TS1 soundtrack. It's so perfect! Jazz, Bossa Nova and so many iconic songs..
The way you multistask with two hands is crazy unbelievable holy fuck
I was also in tears,Its played so beautifully, and the player is gifted beyond belief. God
truly loves you! I have nothing even close to this.
I emailed Jerry :)
AND HE REPLIED :O
I literally fangirled... which is weird seeing as most people don't know who he is...
What did he say?
I just said I loved his music, and that I missed it whilst playing sims 3. I asked if he'd do Sims 4, but he's left EA >.
