I changed the driver-side bulb on my wife’s 2008 Prius after getting a $200+ quote from our local dealer. It took a whole day and scraped most of the skin from my left hand. The driver-side is much tighter and it was a truly awful experience! Thank you for your step-by-step instructions for the passenger-side bulb! I really enjoy your channel! 👍🏼
Thank you for the video! ❤ Managed to do it by myself with help of your video and I did a few pictures with my phone to see the wire that hold the bulb! Lots of love! ❤
Perfect case to use small mirror on stick to see what your fingers have to do and which way to push release wire . On my rav4 worked well . Cheap mirror at harbor freight
To be clear, when replacing the bulb, if you’re doing this method, the plastic retainer clips holding in the part you need to move to get in there WILL BREAK. They are like a $4 replacement at the auto parts. Ideally you are prepared for them to pop off so they don’t fall in the engine, but don’t try to salvage them they are replaceable.
Is it not the case where you change the bulbs in pairs? Once one of them blows, it should be the case where the other one is likely to give out as well, no?
Ever had to replace the headlights on a Yaris? Biggest pain in the rear, you actually have to take off the bumper and grill in order to remove the assembly to be able to pull out the socket. there is no other way unless you start removing components in the engine compartment.
had to unscrew the bumper and light fitting in my Nissan Maxima to change main bulb - shame they can't just have a hinge with easy access, like the old Mercedes
I hate to clog up the comments on this Prius video but I am not tech savvy enough to know how to send you an email or personal message. What are your thoughts on Amsoil transmission fluid instead of the ATF WS for my 2018 Highlander with 8 speed Tranny? I use Amsoil two-stroke oil in my aircraft and have found it to be an excellent product. Thank you for your time and excellent content!
Several. At one point the Mercedes/Dodge Sprinter camping van, and then another camper van, and also the wife's Sequoia. Vehicles come and go as they are flipped and repaired as projects for the channels.
I still have all the original lamps in my 08 Tundra. I did have to get into the passenger side headlight area to repair squirrel damage to the wires for the headlight and side marker. I know it was squirrel because his tail got caught under the washer fluid tank and left behind.
The lenses need the white toothpaste with a lot of rubbing treatment to grind that yellowed plastic away. Then you finish polishing with NuFinish auto polish a few times. It worked on my old 2000 Expedition. I had to take the brighter after market bulb out of the driver's side though. I kept getting flashed with both sides with the 2 brighter Sylvania bulbs installed. It's funny that looking at the headlights at night you don't notice that the passenger side one is brighter. But if you pull up to a white garage door, you can see that the after market bulb is both brighter, and whiter than the standard halogen bulb which is stock for the vehicle. You don't want to hit a deer if you can avoid it. Not to mention people walking on a 2 lane unlit road, dressed in all dark clothing with no shoe reflectors.
This has to be the most irritating thing about my Toyota Avensis, and most, if not all, modern cars, you nearly need an engineering degree, these days, to change an f####g bulb.... should be a law against this, but......
TY,,,,,,WOW incredible very interesting super kool ,1st class great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.

200 dollars?! That's honestly an insane quote for just a bulb change. So glad we've got channels like these, yeah!

Great work, Peter, the auto mechanic Magician!
Good idea re. practicing installation with the old bulb first.
Thanks Peter, for this interesting video. I can see this is little tricky installing these.
Good job,I feel your frustration. But we'll done.Thank you.

Yeah, a disgrace, imo, should be against the law to deliberately design in such a way
@@Charlie_Crown Supposedly an economy car that requires a lot of labor for such a simple DIY task in just about any other car.

This is why they say that a mechanic must have slept with an engineer's wife..they are having their revenge with these nightmare designs...lol

Too much talking, just get to the point and teach
It's a Prius. Just toss the whole thing in the trash can.
Better toss yourself and your chevy or what else you praying on
The only way to film that, well, is while the engine is removed.
Those are "do it by feel" replacements.
Too much talking
