This would make a neat classic Thomas the Tank Engine story episode of some kind - mostly relating to the Railway Series. It's really fascinating to watch how industrial railroading can be, especially when playing with miniature scale models of it.
These dump cars are really cool. They remind me of the Lionel Action accessories, but these are cooler in my opinion because they are contained in the car itself.
Fun fact: it says Bethlehem steel on the carts, Bethlehem is a city in Pennsylvania, I heard about a big ironworks there, I actually live near Bethlehem;
I wonder if you used karo syrup, colored red with food coloring, to simulate the viscosity and appearance of molten metal. Of course, you would wind up with a sticky wicket.
The cars used to transport molten iron, or "hot metal", resembled submarines and were commonly called "sub cars". They transferred hot metal from the blast furnace to the Hot Metal Mixer, located at the entrance to the Melt Shop. Hot metal was poured into a ladle that sat on a special car. It never left the Melt Shop, but shuttled to the furnaces where the ladle crane poured the hot metal into the furnaces. On the other end were the slag pots. It was the job of the Union Railroad to pick up the slag pots from Carrie Furnace, Edgar Thompson, and Duquesne Works and shuttle them to the West Mifflin slag dumps. My bedroom window faced the Taylor Dump, and as a kid I spent many hours watching the slag trains. Today, only ET remains in operation, and trucks ferry the slag from Braddock to West Mifflin.

Amazing dump cars
Great layout.I love the steam & the track plan.👍
This is officially my favorite video from you
could watch this all day
I simp for that Camelback locomotive. There's just something so satisfying about its appearance.
You should add food coloring to the water to make it look like molten steal! Unless it stains the cars ofc. Just a thought
Great fun video, thank you.
Play video at .25 speed and watch the dumping sections.
freaky
I purchased one of these from someone that has DCC installed. I need to test it out I guess.

Woooow....Amazing damp
That’s some weird looking steel slag. I’ve never seen slag that is clear as water. It’s like it was water. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good car’s
galium... that might look neat!
Or Mercury on the slag cars. Easier to clean up too due to it’s cohesiveness. Of course there could be some negatives 😂.
Polizza
Magnificent

Very cool. Servo motors?
Some of the LGB cars where made in the 90’s. Pretty sure their just basic small brushed motors inside with a gear reduction.
nice thanks
Hallo
Like the steam lok at the beginning. Can you please provide name and manufacturer?

I'm actually working on a concept design for this. If you're technologically minded, I would love some help bringing my concepts to life.,
I remember when I was little there also was a store in my country that had model trains run through the whole store. It was awesome
