- Repairing a Kenmore/Whirlpool washing machine control board which was causing the washer to flash the lid lock light. In this video I use an ESR meter to troubleshoot the control board. Model in the video is 110.20022014.

DTM, great video. After you bend the legs over cut the excess off before you solder. This prevents damaging or disturbing your solder joints. Also, clean the new solder joints with some isopropyl alcohol. It’s great that you were able to repair this board. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you for the tips! I think it is also important to have a good clean soldering iron tip. Mine was a bit burned up (probably caused a bit more damage than I would have liked)

When recapping you can buy “low ESR” electrolytic caps. Also, higher voltage rated caps will have a longer life.

Great job with the tutorial, I have a question At the end of the video you removed a component that you had installed at the lid switch was that a bypass? Also did you repair the machine for long term usage?
I always bypass the lid switch after making a repair just to monitor the cycle and make sure the machine is not doing anything crazy. I think this definitely could be a long term repair if you do a careful job of soldering and don't burn components, it does take some time to perfect (this video was more designed to show the troubleshooting steps).
