Hello my friend! 🤗 Every time, I am impressed by your courage and strength of character, because not many would have returned to sea kayaking after such a spinal surgery. Respect! 👍💖🤗
Hi Paddledog and thanks for the well wishes 😀 👍 Doing just fine and back out when I can. Up on Shetland for the next couple of weeks and had a short solo trip a couple of days around St Ninians. Magic 😃
I had a spinal surgery as well several years ago and kayaking is the main element to maintain my mobility. Glad you were able to restart this early. Kepp on going. Wish you a good recovery and many more of your fantastic videos. See you on the water some time 😊
Thanks for you kind well wishes and comments, much appreciated. It sounds like you are still maintaining an active life despite surgery which is always great to hear. Yes I'm not sure what part of the world you live, but I'm always up for a paddle and enjoy meeting new people. Keep in touch as your comments are always most welcome and thanks again. Best Regards Geoff
Hi Alex, great hearing from you again, you'll know the Farnes well then I'm sure as it's our jewel in our NE crown 👑 But hey, Skye will beat it hands down! I love paddling Skye and the West Coast is magnificent 👌 you're certainly spoilt for choice in most wind/swell directions. Keep those comments coming and I'll keep posting my adventures. Currently waiting for our ferry at Aberdeen to Shetland, I'll probs get a few days paddling with the locals I made great friends with last year but it's primarily a touristy holiday for Shirley and I...with an obligatory paddle or two 😂😂 Great hearing from you and best regards Geoff
Good to see you back on the water. Had major heart surgery in the fall of 2017, and the only thing that kept me going was planning my next kayak trip! By summer 2018 ... yay! Back at it! Again, so good to see you back at it! Keep paddling!!!
Hi Tip and thanks for the well wishes, its appreciated. Yes, I'm sure you are right, if we have a purpose in life its the perfect way forward to recovery, we "make it happen" which is exactly what you did too!! That's another huge plus for kayaking, getting us out for exercise in a wonderful healthy environment 😃😃😀 and good for the soul 👍 I'll be keeping at it for as long as I can. Currently on holiday in Shetland with my wife and had a fabulous solo trip 1st day on the islands...video to follow soon!! Thanks and best regards Tip Geoff
Fantastic video. Reminding me that spring is less than two weeks away. Looks like a warm weekend here so I'm paddling too. Interesting rock formations.
@@geoffburke Yes, I need some cold weather gear. Mind you at about 8C I wasn't cold on the water. Though I have added a thin T-shirt over the top of my thin singlet. Still in rugby shorts. Getting soft.😉
Hi Bev, yes I'm just about out of the other side with recovery and looking forward to some multiday trips when I return from Shetland. More adventures on the horizon 😂👍 Cheers Geoff
Hi Sawyer, thanks again for your comments. Yes, we must keep getting out and enjoying our wonderful sport 😀 It's restricted enough with our weather so I grab the opportunity when I can. Have a great time, where are you from and whee are you paddling? Keep in touch and your great comments 👍
@@geoffburke Wisconsin - United States....I think we've chatted before, I spend most of my time on the Great Lakes (Michigan and Superior) I would love the opportunity to kayak in your corner of the world :)

Thank again Gadget, a paddle is always good, be it spring, summer, autumn or winter it's only the gear you use that changes 😀 😉 👍
Go for it 👍
