    We go to replace the drive belt on a Cub Cadet LT1050 Riding Mower and find the engine pulley is stuck
    The pulley will not come off but instead of using penetrating oil and an air hammer with a blunt end or heating it up we show a little trick that is even easier many times depending on the situation/model
    This will work on a riding mower or a zero turn mower when replacing the drive belt and run into an issue with the drive belt pulley not coming off easily, rusted on or stuck
    Find our videos on removing a stuck pulley or clutch if the above tip for some reason does not work for you at:
    At • How To Remove Stuck On... we remove a stuck on electric PTO clutch and pulley from Ariens Zoom 2040 zero turn riding mower.
    We remove a stuck on PTO pulley from a John Deere 125 automatic riding lawn mower at • Stuck On PTO Pulley Re...
    This is the easy way to remove the rusted on PTO or drive pulley from a riding lawn mower.
    We use an air hammer with a blunt end and penetrating oil ( amzn.to/3RwFR5y )
    If you do not have an air hammer you can use a regular hammer and lightly tap with a punch but it takes a significantly longer amount of time.

    Great tip, I had a new Cub Cadet recently that a customer said the belt was slipping, come to find out the belt was never put on the pully from the factory and the belt was riding on the hub of the pully. I was fortunate that the tractor was new and the pulley just came down easily. Thanks for a great video.

    I had a pulley that needed to come off. The center of the V in the pulley was a full belt width off of lining up with the hydraulic units. I first drilled a 3/32 hole thru the side of the hub, in line with the keyway and sprayed 'blaster' in the hole. It all ran out the bottom so I used some plumbers putty to keep it in, letting it soak over night.
    Still no movement , even with some heat on the pulley hub. I then drilled to 5/16 holes in the flat of the pulley, far enough out from the hub to get a 5/16 bolt head to clear the hub. Put my home made puller plate on the bottom of the shaft and bolted it to the hub thru the holes I drilled. It did finally move with a bit more heat, by cranking on the puller screw.
    Evidently, the wrong pulley was put on this mower from day one, since the edge of the drive belt was always shredded after minimal run time.
    I now have a pulley that lines up with the hydro units and the E clutch bolts in at the proper position.

      It seems like I forgot about this trick once upon a time and was prying and ruined the pulley then when I replaced it I was wondering why the heck I didn't just do it this way to begin with

    You might wish to add some "never-seize" to the engine bolts now. To save future headaches.

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  26 днів тому

      I usually use it on shafts and PTO bolt but never have an issue with them seizing on engine mounting bolts never hurts though
