Amazing job of restoring these speakers. It just goes to show anything can be brought back with some talent and hard work. These speakers are probably better than they were new now!
Well first of all these speakers were cheap when they first came out. I know because I’ve rebuilt them quite a few times They’re not worth this extreme effort. A basic fix is about all they are worth. Gold paint doesn’t make things sound better. Second, the rebuild of the drivers was wrong. They didn’t shim the coils to assure true alignment. The Re-edging of the woofer doesn’t take two people. As long as the coil Was in good shape, it wasn’t worth the time and cost to remove the cone assemble and paint. There is a good chance these speakers will Distort as soon as they are blasted. Finally, was an AB test done to assure the speakers match? You do have components in that crossover that can go bad. So An AB test is mandatory. the job looks nice and clean, I’ll give them credit for that. but I have to be blunt. They basically polished a turd. Now maybe in that area of the world, those Speakers are a win, but new, they were cheap shelf pieces at your local circuit city.
@TheMazo02 It looks like "system in box" speakers to me and they're certainly not worth restoring. Maybe if you live in some place where there's no better options, but even then, it just doesn't worth it. These speakers are garbage. Restored or not.
@@MarvinHartmann452 not sure which country is it.. maybe it is worth there.. but when restoring, at least do it right.. well, I have seen better restorations lol
Increíble!!!! No usa centrador en ningún parlante!!!!! Será Kenwood???? El parlante de medios va en el mismo compartimiento que el woofer sin aislar?????
Indeed .. most of these old 70's speakers with mostly paper cone speakers (and lots off'em) is pure junk, but they might actually turn out to sound better than the original when reconed with better materials. And I gotta say even many of these videos look like some phillipine street workers, they actually look quite skilled at what they do and often the results look quite professional
Parabéns... nessa semana almocei em um restaurante e vi duas caixas dessas tocando... + de 40 anos depois. Som limpo e nítido. Era meu sonho de consumo
What a beautiful Restoration! They look like you just bought them! You bought them back to the original they were in the 70's or 80's I don't know what Era they were!
you some seriously level of good skills. I remember my neighbour who was an expat from Baharin bring back speakers like these in the early 90's. I used to watch it work with such fascination.
Hi all subscribers and friends, absolutely brilliant workmanship. The attention to detail is second to none. Your passion is inspiring gents, keep up the great work and content. Much Luv & Respect from South Africa 👌👍🙏🙏🙏
Аналогично, да что вы хотели от дешёвых колонок? То, что это дешёвое гавно - понятно было сразу, как достали басовики, на которых пипирошные магнитики. В этих рисовых корпусах я даже нормальных фильтров не увидал кстати.
How come you did not put a crossover in them. I had a pair the highs was a little to bright, the person I sold them to put crossovers in them and they sounded almost perfect.
the external cabinet and the speakers restoration is superb. however, the wires are the same and the crossover caps, etc were not changed. i wonder about the sound and the freq response would be.
What a respect I have for you. How you do it, how you made these "oldies" working and see so well again. I cannot. Greetz from the Netherlands! (The land of Philips😄).
Fun to watch. One recommendation while they are apart is glue the corner and throw a small brace. Also spray sound deadening on the backs of all the drivers takes the ring out of them.

Outstanding restoration of a classic speaker! Wow!

@@TheMazo02 and people like you shouldn't make comments.
Nice job. I was just wondering why you didn't use shims in centering the voice coils. You just relied on the spider ang cone suspension alignment.
because it is not serious.. he also left glue in the gap at 18:32...
I was also thinking about this, centering is necessary otherwise voice coil strikes with magnet pole.

la otra pregunta es en cuanto ha quedado la impedancia, y como ha configurado el crossover
That is one new lease of life, wonderful work !
Nice work, love the effort you guys put into these restorations, keep up the good work. 🍻

Safe to say you put way more effort and money into these than the original manufacturer did.

They sounded awful new.
You don't really know much about this stuff, and it shows.
@ghostsniper2099 I've built plenty of DIY speakers. You saw the video. What kind of crossovers were in those speakers? What have you built?

For restoring the body of the speaker , what is the black filler you use
Acetone or paint thinner, among others..
