Something I’ve noticed as a beginner that the amount of water I need also depends on the quality of the paper I’m using. My experience is that the cheaper the paper I use, the less water I find I need. I need a lot more water when I use my professional arches cold pressed compared to when I use my inexpensive canson paper. These videos are always incredibly helpful 💖🌸💖

I like to have a paper or cloth towel to dab on. It stops drippy brushes and you can check the colour strength before committing to your paper. I find creating tonal swatches is very useful to practice water and colour control as well as getting to know your pigment, paper and brushes.
I truly love watching your tutorials !! so informative and helpful! Thank you!

That’s really interesting!
Yes! I noticed that too!
I think the Canson dries really quickly. So doing wet on wet or trying not to get "blooms" can be a challenge for this beginner with that paper.
