- Knife self defense is tough and if you can run you should always run instead of trying to fight a knife wielding attacker. But if you want to train and learn to counter a knife watch this.

The problem with a lot of these kinds of videos is not really emphasizing that to be effective is to practice till you have muscle memory. That basically means until you don’t even think about it. To adapt to different scenarios is being one step ahead of your opponent so your awareness is seeing potential threats that deviate from a certain type of attack. I was a military combat instructor to several highly trained military personnel. The first thing I taught them was if you don’t practice these moves till you can do it by rote, then my advice is don’t. When I see guys demonstrating taking a gun pointed at them, and not explaining what it takes to do that. I taught three main things focus, calmness, and speed. Any advantage you can give yourself you need to take advantage of. Like glancing quickly behind the person then back to him making sure he sees the glance as you learn body language, the slightest movement of his eyes may give you that xtra 1/4 of a second that makes the difference. I admire him saying practice but that needs to be emphasized over and over, or you’re giving people just enough information to get themselves killed.
3D - distract, deflect, disbalance. Attack the center. Don't grab. Get out of line. Don't look at the knife. That's are basic principles.
Can you use the same principle against an upward or straight stab to the torso?

Check real fights, no one uses knife that way. They always have classic grip
Suggestion please: It is all such valuable information, and often the most important part is at the end of a sentence. But Your voice tends to drop at the end of Your sentences and i miss what You're saying. Thank You for Your videos. They are excellent.
