I just adore the way Lisa explains everything with such detail. It's like every time I watch her, I learn something new. It's never like most videos on UA-cam , repetitive.

Learned from it and I'm in my 70s. Wish I'd had access to your look-younger make-up tips in my 30s!
No matter our age, the general advice you offer here on make-up as we age helps us do the best with what we have. Thanks, Lisa!

I admire your work, really, it's lovely. I'm nearly 61 so I'm always keen to learn new things with makeup, but as a few other commenters have said, I disagree about a red or dramatic lip, I do have a much thinner top lip now, and while I use a liner and your advise on 'cheating' or balancing the top lip, for me, the matt red lip still works. I also agree about our eyebrows, they also thin naturally so we need to leave them alone! lol I loved how you filled hers back in, it really is so much more youthful. So many things change as we age, but the desire to be and look the best we can remains strong! Thank you again for your advise.

Great tips, Lisa Eldridge ! Especially the one about creating a socket since my eyelids are starting to droop and I need to learn how to effectively create a natural-looking socket.
Thanks again for your tips!! 💕👍

I love the way she does make up. I used to apply a lot of foundation to cover my pimples and everything and i felt like i was doing it wrong. It happens that i really was. Love the way she makes you feel natural but beautiful at the same time instead of changing the face completely

Like many I was a bit disappointed not to see an older model. It was good to see that I already do all of these things though. Hoping to see more eye makeup looks for my deep set eyes. I use light colored shimmer shadows on my lids, which are larger than this model's, though we both have prominent brow bones. I can't do a winged liner for that reason. My eyebrows are higher, too. I subscribe to HotandFlashy's channel because she has similar coloring to mine and is in her 50s so I can relate to her skincare and makeup advice.

Lisa, Thank you so much! So, I've just now been watching many of your vids', and not one do you over do the make-up, Not One!! I'm 55yrs old, and I've certainly been doing it wrong. I've been over the past couple of years been watching all these make-up goorues, young of course, not thinking about how wrong of me to try to mimic them. It's just not going to work! So, today I've taken many mental notes, going to minimize oh so much of what I normally do, and bring the amounts I use way down. Your so right, less is more, and oh Lisa, thank you so much for the many antiaging tips!!
As I've said before, I would give so much, my dream is to have you one day do my make-up!! I doubt it will ever happen, still, I have tour tips. Thank you from the bottom of my heart..xoxo

I order this *Argan Rain %100 Pure Argan Oil* every month. I am sixty years young, and I do have wrinkles, but this product has made my skin glow and my wrinkles don't seem to be as noticeable. I don't want to look freakishly young, (I'm thinking about celebrities that go to extremes) but I do want to look as good as I can at any age.

First off, she is giving some tips, not saying you have to follow every little thing she is doing here. Also, the antiaging thing is for the makeup style (at the beginning she mentioned that even young women look older by wearing a wrong makeup style). And to finish here, the model may not be old enough for you but she has some pigmentation issues so this makeup is also useful for that.

Lisa, Your tips for maturing skin are spot on. However it is not apparent what the actual effects are because the visual connect is not there. Using an actual model with mature skin would have been more effective in getting your message across. There is a lot said about "anti-aging" which is actually a misnomer term. We should not be "against" aging per se but embrace the aging process and then embellish your beauty with makeup. "Anti" anything sets up a very negative energy. How can one be "against" aging when one cannot stop the process. This term of "anti-aging" is a marketing hype to sell product. Most mature women should know this. Is there a better, more positive term that can be used when referring to maturing skin? That would be a real winner if you could retrain yourself to use it and go with positive language. As you know Lisa, words are powerful. You are so very talented as a makeup artist and you care deeply about transformational beauty that comes from using makeup correctly. If you could combine your knowledge of application of makeup with positive language when speaking about mature skin and the process of aging, that would be a powerful approach. Aging is a good thing. It shows us that in the end to control the process is folly. Ah, so what we need to do is just love ourselves into our 90's and beyond. There is a huge market out there of women over 60 now with all of the baby boomers. Capture that and you have tapped into a gold mine. Positive language is one way to go. The best thing about aging is the gift of wisdom. A wise woman is incredibly powerful. So that's my story and, I am sticking to it!!! Eileen

    • @Yellow-Rose
      @Yellow-Rose 7 років тому +1

Eileen Summerville I totally agree with you, Eileen! However anti-aging is not a term coined by Lisa. It is the industry and since she is part of that industry she uses the word so that people understand the techniques she will be using. The industry needs to change. From watching Lisa's own YT channel I'm sure she would agree with you somewhat. She does lots of videos for mature women and menopausal women, even talks about her own experiences with aging a bit. She's probably the most humble, sensitive, thoughtful and compassionate artist in the industry. She knows the hell we go through and tries to help as best she can. Lisa's got our back! : )

I'm 56 and still have an oily skin so still need to use powder, particularly on the T-zone. I find that Corn Silk's Original Satin is still the best as it mattifies but also has miniscule reflective particles to offset the deadness of an intensely matt look. I wish there were more products and videos for older women.

I'm 58 & fortunately have good skin, this is due purely to good skin care from about 15 as I never liked makeup! Now at 58 I love makeup & I do believe that dark lipstick is not great on most mature ladies, but some women carry it off great, but I go for beautiful nudes & light pinks & the light peaches. Not orange tones! Wearing makeup is great fun but blending is the best lesson learned! Blend blend blend X 💄 X

Just beautiful and wonderful to learn how to do all that. I have oily skin and hooded eyes. I just wish I knew the foundation she used. I've been on a quest for some weeks now looking and researching a foundation for my skin type without defining the fine lines. Just have a few breakouts sometimes on my chin. I have heard about so many foundations. But think the mattes that everybody says is good for me because I have one and hate it shows the lines so bad. I need one that is in between I guess. I just keep watching all these foundation videos. Anyone that can help please do. I do not have a sephora near me for samples. Would love a drugstore for oily that has a little lumi. Please please help me.

Using someone in their TWENTIES to talk about anti aging makeup just shows how messed up today's society is. Nothing against Lisa I think she's amazing and just doing what she was told by Boots. This clip is nonsensical. Using a twenty-something with glowing, unlined, unmarked skin and then talking about ageing, flaws, pigmentation and so on. Pointless. Absolutely pointless. The whole point of a video is to SEE the techniques transform an older face. It completely failed to do so because it cannot do so with that young model. It's like demonstrating your amazing spot cover make-up on someone with zero zits.

Give me a break! I don't CARE how old you are but I am in my early 50's and this model is OLD....she has age spots all over her complexion -- just to point out ONE thing!!!
Just because she is "younger" than you ... too bad! She probably isn't 55, either!!

And if you would have just even LISTENED to Lisa, she gave many EXCELLENT TIPS!!!

BS, you have nothing better to do but look at old at YT posts??? You don't even HAVE a picture...I have photographed terrible since I was 6 years old! But in person, people continually mistake me for someone in my late 20's, and I have bounce on my face with MU application, no fine lines (or deep!) and no pigmentation. Pigmentation/texture looks awful and APPEARS OLD whether someone is or not. And quit getting so obsessed over women's makeup, I don't care what you do, but get out of old comments and get a life outside of yt.

I have the utmost respect for Lisa, but she should have used an older woman even though she has videos doing make up on an older woman. It does not make any sense that she would use a very young woman to teach us how to do makeup on an older women! They all seem to do it ....shame really because any makeup on a young woman will always look good..

Isn't it amazing that in spite of asking (nicely) many many times to please list your products, not once (unless I've missed it) did you take a minute to just answer! What does that tell me? It tells me that you don't really care. You just want the numbers of "hits". This is NOT cool.

Marie-France Robert This isn’t Lisa’s own UA-cam channel. Someone’s just lifted this video from somewhere else - maybe Boots because that’s what it says at beginning of video. Very random- someone hoping to earn ad revenue off Lisa’s name? Anyway you should go into Boots and ask for what a specific product might be.

Very disappointed with this video :/ Lisa is usually fantastic! But the model has a very visible patch of skin on her left cheek that is not blended in with the rest. Looks terrible. I suppose even someone as great a Lisa Eldridge can have a bad day.

Use a model in her 50s . This is ridiculous.

Seriously, forget this and go watch Monique Parent's videos if you want to see an 50 year-old woman transform herself without being a trained make-up artist. Much more useful than this patronizing gash.

I should be a makeup artist. Nothing new. Also, if you're really an aging woman, you would want more lip gloss, especially if you're using a pencil! Come on. Wasting my time.
