This is so old and I always come back to it. Lisa reminds me that you don't need giant triangles of light concealer under the eyes, or liquid lipstick, or overlined lips, or even eyeliner, to be STUNNING. God, she is the best makeup artist in the world.
this is phenomenal! for my go-to natural look, I have a similar trick: I gently dab some pink lipstick (that would be very bright if I applied generously), then blend it out with my fingers and add some clear lip balm on top for moisture and volume. This combo has saved me, since my lips are quite pale on their own, and this looks like my natural lip color.
Yes its has a similar dewy finish to the Healthy Mix Serum foundation but its a thinner consistency and has a lighter texture and coverage. This one works best when you apply a very thin layer and rub it in really well to the skin and then use concealer to cover any blemishes. I like both X
Always thought Lisa is absolutely stunning and one day my brother (who knows nothing about makeup ofc) was passing by, saw my monitor and asked, "Who is that actress?" xD It made me so happy for some reason lol
Wow, I love the light eyeliner on the upper lash line! I've never really thought of applying a light color for the upper lash line, it looks wonderful!
Have you tried YSL Touche Eclat? Its a thicker liquid than this one and has more coverage but the finish is good and it brightens well imo. Chanels Vita Lumiere Aqua is also good X
Thank you so much for the great tip for combining a bright with a nude lipstick! It’s a great way to perk up an every day look when I’m so tired of all my nude lipsticks.
The lilac pencil would look amazing along the water line but as a top lash liner it would register as almost white (which is a look .... but not very natural looking). To give a more natural and brightening effect along the upper lash line a warmer rose gold type of shade (the depth of which would depend on your skintone) would add light without screaming fake. Hope that makes sense X
Ooh thats such a great orangey red and must look amazing with your colouring! A warm apricot rose blush would fit well with it, or even one with a touch of coral. In Chanel, Rose Initial or the new coral shade from the spring collection (cant remember the name of it) would be good, or any brand really .... as these tones arent hard to find. I hope you fully recover soon!!! X
you voice is soo soothing . i love all your videos and how u dont need to use complications like adding in eXtra features and music like other makeup tutorials. plus you are very talented in the way you make makeup seem soo flawless and natural :)
I love your tutorials. As a SAHM of 2 young children I appreciate simple natural makeup and the variety of simple everyday makeup that you are doing are right up my alley
If you're looking for the discontinued color Chanel Beryl, you can try Benefit's eye bright or Makeup Store " illusion shimmer". They are all very close :-)
Hi Lisa. Thanks so much for this tutorial and going in depth of the products, especially the foundation you used in this video. I have been on the hunt for a foundation that was not oily, with just enough SPF but didn't "look" like foundation. Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow is everything you said. Once I put it on it blended seamlessly. I can NOT see it sitting on my skin in sunlight. Thanks a million!
Apply a super thin layer and work it really well into the skin with fingers (if poss) if you need more apply only to the area you need - again in a super thin, well blended layer. As the finish is dewy you may have to do a light powdering touch up throughout the day if necessary. In my experience most people apply waaaay too much foundation and dont blend it enough, anything left sitting on top of the skin will slide or rub off (whatever the formulation) X
There is a pretty peachy coloured eye pencil called Or Rose in the collection.... its kind of a sparkly champagne and is No89 I think. Beryl is No.106 and is definitely a very light lavender shade X
There is another Ivory (confusing I know) Ivory - Fair, which is a touch lighter and less yellow. May not be light enough for you but worth a look if you are considering this foundation X
I LOVE LISA. Every other guru just creates looks with the Naked palette and they slap on bronzer and blush like nothing, but with her a little goes a long way. Her makeup is subtle but GORGEOUS.
I bought the Clinique Airbrush Concealer the other day and it's made such a difference. Really lifts the eye area and brightens your face. I don't know how I did my make-up without it.
Both are really nice and do the job well. The lilac is a fresh option and quite nice for spring as its a little more unusual but the beige option works like a dream too for removing redness and opening the eye. Either way will be great. Just avoid using a harsh white pencil, it looks so fake and trashy X
Gorgeous.. as always!!! How do you not age at all, ever??!!! I love to rewatch your past videos to watch your amazing work, you have taught me so much about makeup & lots of other things too!!! There are multiple generations out here that have greatly benefited from your skill & tutelage and we all appreciate it so very much!!!! 💙🤗
I watched this video last night and wore this look to work today and it was bright and pretty. I felt refreshed. I didn't have a lilac pencil so I used some eye shadow primer and lined my eyes with a beautiful lilac shadow and it stayed all day and was perfect. Lisa, I love your videos and am very grateful that you do them. I always feel confident that I can do what you've shown, you give such practical advice and you show each step. Thank you so much.
Same as applying lipsticks, I learn something every time watching your videos! My boyfriend got into the habit of listening to your voice playing in the background, he says it's calming. Thank you Lisa!
Thanks for letting us all know of another pale lilac eye pencil.... and a drugstore version at that! Shu Uemura used to do a similar one but i dont think they have it anymore, likewise Avon. Any other dupe suggestions are very welcome X
Becca (as in the brand?). If so I would think this is more a 'how to use their products' type course than a general make-up course .... but I could be wrong I dont know anything about it. Ask if you will be using all different brands or just theirs X
I love watching your videos because beside the fact that you're an extremely talented makeup artist, you also have the most soothing voice and way of talking.
This is my favorite foundation. Nothing worst than feeling like you have makeup on. It truly builds nicely. I do let it dry a bit before building onto it. You'd be surprise at how much it covers. Wonderful tutorial!
This video was PERFECT for a lot of my friends who are intimidated by make up and often forgo it altogether or stick with their tried and true look...I found the techniques and tips to be super approachable and intuitive. I've since shared it onto my FB to help my beautiful peeps out. Thanks so much for this wonderful, every day, achievable look.
this is such a beautiful make up. you always look so classy und natural, even if your doing some more dramatic looks it's never too much. your by far my favourite make up artist on youtube x
What size of brush are you using to apply it? If the brush is too large it tends to cover too big an area and if its too small the blush can look like it has edges and not blend in well with the skin. You need something in the middle, of a size that matches how much space you have on your face. I just did a video about this exact subject for elleuk website, there is a link to it on my facebook page X
you need to find the right shade of concealer to counteract and brighten the melasma. I cant recommend an actual shade without seeing you as finding the right mix all depends on the colour of your pigmentation. Is there a good Bobbi Brown counter with a talented consultant any where near you? You could do with some good advice and help trying out lots of shades to find the perfect fit in that area X
Absolutely gorgeous. Love the simplicity of this look. Now have the Chanel eyeliner in beryl, love the subtlety. Now trying the lipstick trick...great for those of us not quite game enough for really bright lipstick. Thank you so much for these tips...have given me confidence to wear makeup. Such joy!
I do need to track down a good dupe for that shade soon as I wear it a lot and its getting worn down (or I need to to persuade Chanel to re-release it for me, one or the other!). I know that Sonia Kashuk does liquid blush but I've not tried it myself so I'm not sure how similar it is to the DS one. Maybe someone else here knows? X
it's the most elegant-wearable-quickly-everyday makeup in the web! and it's really, really beautiful! I love you because I am italian and I don't speak english very well but I understand very well your words when you speak, and that it's really important for me!
Such a beautiful effortless look. My mother in law and I are enrolled in a makeup course. We bought most of the products you recommend. I'm 35 and she's 56, never too old to make the most of yourself.
Fresh IS the effect and I love it. I've been trying to simulate the light patting motions that you always use. I think it takes patience and attention to detail - not my strong suits but I think I'm making headway! Thanks for sharing as you do.
I've been watching your videos for a long time and still every time I see you apply makeup to yourself I'm always struck by how beautiful you are just as I was when I first saw your videos!
Love all the little tips you give us in every video, so helpful! Some people are good at applying makeup but they can't explain why they're doing the steps, but you actually do. You're a great teacher Lisa :) Would love to see a nice wearable spring look using pastels, maybe pink and green?
I watched this video yesterday and I bought that foundation today and can't wait to wear it. They tested it on me on the store and it look so beautiful, it suits me better than any other foundation that I own! Thank you for the amaizing tips, love from Portugal
Becca recently went into liquidation in the UK and their shop has closed. Do you want to work for Becca, is that why you want to pay a lot of money to do a training course with them? What kind of make-up artist are you hoping to be and which industry are you interested in entering. I have made a video about this called 'first steps to making it in make-up' if you are not sure X
I think it would be too dewy for a very oily skin (especially if you are living in a part of the world where its warm right now), you would probably prefer a more velvet/matte finish X
I need to get my hands on the Chanel eyeliner now, it looks so brightening without being unnatural like white or a skin tone beige color can sometimes be on the waterline. Thanks Lisa!
Amazing transformation. It really is brightening. I've been having problems with looking dull despite the make-up I have on, I'm going to see if it's the lip shades I've been using (or something in the list of products). Thank you for this. It was very helpful.
One of my favorite video to watch often times. I remember the day I wore this make to college I kid you not everyone was complimenting my skin and my look saying I look so fresh and youthful
lisa, i too use this bright shade+nude shade technique often and it does work so well. now that you have recommended it i don't feel like i'm doing something odd anymore, lol. i think it also adds a nice dimension to lips that you might not get if you only use one shade! i'm going to try that lavender-ish tone for the eyes because it looks so lovely. thanks, as always, for your wonderful expert advice!
A series on makeup/makeup tips for different skin types would be AMAZING. Your acne video was fab, so I can only imagine all the tips you have to make makeup last on an oily skin with large pores like myself!!
What a gorgeous look! I especially love the lavender liner. I'm not sure if you have done this already, but I'd love to see a wedding look and/or learn some tips about wedding makeup from a professional.
Hi Lisa, I've been using this look daily for the past couple of weeks prior to your video and I have to say it really does work. It's such a simple look yet I've got comments from colleagues saying i looking so fresh and alive and they've all attributed it to the good rest over Christmas break but really it's the makeup. A tip I'm taking away from this video is the lavender pencil in the water line. A reason to spend money on makeup! Thanks Lisa!
Very pretty. Love the light lavender eye liner idea. I sort of have puffy/hooded eye lids and the browns and grays on liners or shadows makes me look old and dirty. I do have a hard time though with lip color. Warm colors are too orangey and cool colors wash out my fair skin and make me look sickly so I stick mostly to tinted lip balm to be safe. Great vid. That's the look I'm shooting for!
you need a different and quite specific shade of concealer to lift that area (cant say exactly which without seeing you). I would suggest you use a shade of foundation that suits your general skin tone, one that evens out your face generally, apply a thin layer of that all over and then mix the foundation with a more 'colourful' concealer - either more golden, peachy or salmon toned depending on the colour of your pigmentation. Go see the best Bobbi Brown consultant you can find to help you X
I love how you put on the concealer under your eyes. I've seen other videos of people who put sooo much on and then they put highlighter on top of it! Its crazy.
This is so old and I always come back to it. Lisa reminds me that you don't need giant triangles of light concealer under the eyes, or liquid lipstick, or overlined lips, or even eyeliner, to be STUNNING. God, she is the best makeup artist in the world.
Who else loves the sound of her rings clicking together ???? Lol I could listen to her voice all day 😄😄
tvisha OMG......Me!!!! I love that sound.

You are the only makeup artist that makes me want to apply makeup.
Beautiful always. Perfect makeup application
For me it’s her and Ali Andreea. Both incredibly talented makeup artists
It's 2019 and I still learn something new and relevant to this day from Lisa.
Yes its has a similar dewy finish to the Healthy Mix Serum foundation but its a thinner consistency and has a lighter texture and coverage. This one works best when you apply a very thin layer and rub it in really well to the skin and then use concealer to cover any blemishes. I like both X
That eyeliner made so much difference!

This was absolutely hilarious 😂

"reverse panda" lol i love her subtle shade so much
This makeup look equals absolute perfection! Every time I watch any of your tutorials I immediately want to try it out

No, I think the finish is too dewy if your skin is particularly oily, you would probably prefer a more velvet/matte finish X
This is the best tutorial I've seen in ages!! Love it. *favourited*
There is a pretty peachy coloured eye pencil called Or Rose in the collection.... its kind of a sparkly champagne and is No89 I think. Beryl is No.106 and is definitely a very light lavender shade X
this is the only make up tutorial i have watched that really shows a difference and makes the face more brightened, so thanks for the tips
Wow your eyes look very awake and glowy after this, I will totally try it out. The Lavender pencil looks great.
lisa can you do a men's newsanchor type look that wont be obvious, preferably with drugstore brands
There is another Ivory (confusing I know) Ivory - Fair, which is a touch lighter and less yellow. May not be light enough for you but worth a look if you are considering this foundation X
your tutorials are inspiring, I´m learning a lot! Cheers from Paraguay.
I LOVE LISA. Every other guru just creates looks with the Naked palette and they slap on bronzer and blush like nothing, but with her a little goes a long way. Her makeup is subtle but GORGEOUS.
love the lip color tip!! amazing video :)
Clarins Ever Matte is a nice natural, light textured one for oily skin X
I'm speechless, but I would say this... MAKE-UP GENIUS!!!!
I dont think they released this formula in the US, hopefully they will do soon though X
Thanks for the 2 shades of lipstick tip, love it!
lisa its so refreshing to see such tutorials as makeup artists tend to pile make up on but you are the breath of fresh air
so amazingly beautiful
Has anyone found a good alternative to the Chanel Beryl liner as it is now discontinued?
You could try nyx pastel liner
That is a great foundation and a worthy contender I agree. I will make a foundation video soon X
Anyone know of a similar eyeliner? They don't make Beryl anymore
+EarthMoonStars Yes. It's from benefit and it's called " Eye bright". It's exactly the same color and I own both :-)
eye bright isnt purple
+EarthMoonStars None of them are purple. They are lavender. Wink.
ah, same thing
I bought the Clinique Airbrush Concealer the other day and it's made such a difference. Really lifts the eye area and brightens your face. I don't know how I did my make-up without it.
Benefit's Eyebright pencil looks like it would be a good alternative for Chanel Beryl, has anyone tried it?
+Effy Yes. You're correct. Benefit's eyebright pencil is the exact same color.
thanks!

"Its a nude, with a but of umnf" omg This is why I love you
No not for very oily skin as the finish is dewy, I think you would probably prefer something a little more velvet/matte in finish X
Your so naturally beautiful your complexion and dark hair your makeup is always so flawless and natural looking
Gorgeous.. as always!!! How do you not age at all, ever??!!! I love to rewatch your past videos to watch your amazing work, you have taught me so much about makeup & lots of other things too!!! yes of course. i do that a lot, with a little lip balm on top X
her videos are somehow like therapy for me. So calming and nice to watch.

that color of lipstick absolutely does suit you! lovely, and i'm such a big fan of you!
this is such a beautiful make up. you always look so classy und natural, even if your doing some more dramatic looks it's never too much. your by far my favourite make up artist on youtube x
Someone here mentioned that it was similar to one by GOSH but I havent seen it myself, so not sure how close it is. X

One of my favorite video to watch often times.
I remember the day I wore this make to college I kid you not everyone was complimenting my skin and my look saying I look so fresh and youthful
I havent found that's happened with this particular pen as its not as highlighter-y as some of the pens out there X
lisa, i too use this bright shade+nude shade technique often and it does work so well. now that you have recommended it i don't feel like i'm doing something odd anymore, lol. i think it also adds a nice dimension to lips that you might not get if you only use one shade!
i'm going to try that lavender-ish tone for the eyes because it looks so lovely.
thanks, as always, for your wonderful expert advice!
A series on makeup/makeup tips for different skin types would be AMAZING.
Your acne video was fab, so I can only imagine all the tips you have to make makeup last on an oily skin with large pores like myself!!
Not that many pass, so yes I could do a video about the ones that do if thats what you would like X
What a gorgeous look! I especially love the lavender liner. I'm not sure if you have done this already, but I'd love to see a wedding look and/or learn some tips about wedding makeup from a professional.

The Benefit foundation looks perfect for a subtle makeup look on your wedding day. Thanks Lisa.
You're truly an artist Lisa, I LOVE your style, I feel like every look was made for me, totally my taste. Thanks for all your hard work!
you're a natural make-up artist! X
The double lipstick idea is fantastic. I need to try it, it looks so good! Actually great for traveling, 2 lipsticks, 3 options!
This was so beautiful. Simple yet absurdly gorgeous.
This is a gorgeous make up tutorial, I have been hesitant to try liquid blush but you made it look so easy.
I am SO impressed with the lipstick trick you show in this video. Wonderful!
