I was one too for many years but you always got the blame with a disagreement with a passenger even giving you verbal abuse ! It was always "The Driver incited it "!
Driver training kicks in????In all the years I worked for the company, not ONCE did I get training on a skid pan,nor any training on if my bus went in to a skid!!She was told to say that by higher management to make the company look good!!!!Just shear luck that's all it boils down to.Driving far too fast for the road conditions, and I'm sure the passengers on board would agree!!The ONLY thing the drivers get training on,is their routes,NOT how to do a "Scandinavian flick"!!!!!!
I've not seen such control of a double decker bus since Roger Moore in 'Live and Let Die'. She may have been going a bit fast but handled the situation very well.
Give some credit should be given to the driver of the car with the camera. He was aware of what was unfolding in front of him and moved his car to a place that made that bus maneuvering possible.
Haha. Since I'm working as a pcv driver, little millions time I was asking the management for a winter driving training and first aid training as well. Their answer: ( waving me away) ah, you will be fine. Everything I wanted know is from my own studies, readings or if it's snowing and I am home... Yep I jump in car and drive out... maybe there are a couple of companies which offer training... Who knows
@@szarvas87 I was at Longstone many years (what a dump) on the 4 Day Rota exceeding my 10 hours nearly every day but I reported this and was told it was fine. As an ex Commercial Pilot myself sometimes if you want extra training eg First Aid you would be quicker to spend your £68 on a day off and get the certificate yourself because Companies these days don't like paying out extra. There are also Advanced Driving Schools that would give you extra skills for Winter Driving so I advise you to do it on your own initiative !
Nah she was lucky , the ASR , ESP and ABS saved her there , so lucky , its amazing the news jump at the chance to show a woman apparently saving the day yet nothing is said about the appalling driving by women caught on dash cams daily , unbelievable. Oh and by the way she was going way too fast , she should have been crawling .
If the bus company had cancelled the buses in weather like that, she wouldn't have had to avoid anything at all,in fact wait until she makes a mistake then she will be carted in to the depot manger with a "come and see me"😀😀
Driving far to fast with side lights on and during a red alert weather warning. She said her training just kicked in, i very much doubt she's had a bus on a skid pan.
This is nothing compared to Russian crashes. From memory, I think that the chance of road death each year per 100,000 is 10 for the USA 18 for Russia and China 02 for the UK.
Edinburgh's bus drivers are the best bus drivers.

Lothian buses take quality over quantity mate Lothian busses undoubtedly are the best in Europe
Probably too fast for conditions but that said, very, very skilful driving. A natural.
What a move pure class
brilliant driving.
Driving too fast for the conditions.

Very good in driving it must take alot of training and mainly seen we don't see alot of snow that's terrible you have got the nerve
well done you saved everyone life
Charmaine Laurie what a hero...
well done charmaine i know your trained for situations like this but putting into practice is different well done 👍👍
This manoeuvre is routine and expected !
Give some credit should be given to the driver of the car with the camera.

Superb driving
As a Bus/ Coach Driver myself, my first thoughts were , ‘ that’s a bit fast’ but fair play, nifty work. No one was hurt.
Was the bus driver not going to fast also
She had to pick up speed to get up the hill the other side of the of the crest into camera view
Gavin Wilson shouldn't have gone out on the road
I was on the roads thst day
She was going to fast the guy filming should of been driving safe rather than filming and the other car should of been more careful
+Gavin Wilson He wasn't filming it was dash-cam footage, idiot. And she wasn't going too fast.
Bus Drivers are trained for this, nothing heroic ! And she was going too fast.

Steven : I have seen other Drivers sacked for less than that and you know the company I am talking about.
DEJA VU
Driving far to fast with side lights on and during a red alert weather warning.
She said her training just kicked in, i very much doubt she's had a bus on a skid pan.
Armchair opinion ... no snow where koala bears live
koala bear : Reg Varney in the good old days where you were allowed to be frivolous with passengers. When I retired it wasn't allowed !
Typical woman driver, too fast for condition's and she basically panicked and luckily avoided an accident.
being a bit silly
Laurie driving a lorry
Bus driver was clearly going to fast for the conditions.
being a bit silly 1993 songs.
And yet women still can't reverse park !!!!
Is that right?
