Unless he supports a non confidence vote, this is simply self serving politics as usual
Agree, Singh is opportunis.
Why on earth would he support a non-confidence vote? The only reason the NDP and Liberals were together was to fight conservatives (enemy of my enemy is my friend) and to pass more progressive legislation. Calling a snap election now only help conservatives and, consequently, jeopardize all of the legislation that has been passed--especially NDP policies. Singh's job is to advance *his* party's interests, not Poilievre's.
@@cheenis420 no Singhs job is to secure his pension, if you think he cares about anything past that you are sorely mistaken
@@Holler86and if you think ANY politician cares about anything but themselves. jokes on you.
Exactly, until the cha$ching$ comes he wouldn’t actually do anything, just a lot of smoke and meaningless words
Actions speak louder than words. Until Singh actually calls a confidence vote he’s simply giving lip service and ensuring that he doesn’t get ousted at the NDPs upcoming caucus retreat
Why would Singh force an election? The NDP is more focused on continuing to force the gov't to get a long list of results for CDNs, including historic healthcare advancements - National dental care & Pharma care programs. Great work! Meanwhile PP Conservatives all recently voted against providing access to lower cost diabetes medication - *that's wacko!* And the fact that Big Pharma lobbyists are on the Conservative party's top governing body had nothing to do with that, right? PP is playing CDNs for fools!
Gold pensions matter.

It's all an act Jagmeet Singh will never let his hefty pension slip away.
He's stringing along the Liberals AND the Conservatives right up to the natural date of the election.
@@schrempskynate8944 Makes no sense. He's increased the pressure he's going to face on ALL sides of the coin, including his base voters.
If he keeps his seat in the next election, he still gets it whether he has a deal with the Liberals (or not). All he needs is to be sure that is own seat is safe - so this is not all that valid.
Singh said he'd tear up the agreement. ELECTION now
@@philipdecatanzaro1822 It's not. He's pissed off too many of his supporters.
Singh and Trudeau are both panicking. They know they are done.
Let's hope and pray they're both sent packing.
Don't ever expect Singh to do the right thing nor the smart thing !!!
Singh serves no one but himself… he will do nothing until he gets his golden handshake and continues to force Canadians to give him a welfare cheque!
Only the stupid, wrong thing.
he will do right and smart things for himself and his family
Stupid is stupid does
Don't be silly. Look at how many NDP aspirations were facilitated by their deal with the Liberals. How is that stupid? They capitalized on the Liberal government's vulnerability.
Everyone needs to calm down Singh will never vote against Trudeau
no early election is what that means
no erly elecn it means 😮
He will not risk a golden pension!!! They are still dating.
@janicepaisley9329 Once January rolls around he gets his pension. He'll stop supporting the Liberals then. I am guessing a Spring election

"They broke up but they're still dating." Credibility for Singh and Trudeau continues to slip away.
Yes they are still friends…friends with benefits.
Just a stunt by Singh.
It doesn't matter what he does. Canadians are sufficiently pissed off with Singh and Trudeau that anything either of them wont matter.
So sick of these two, who've been chained together.
When Jagmeet quoted "weak and selfish" he was looking in the mirror.

Why 10 days of sick leave for federal employees? No discrimination in this country. Wake up Canada
The Civil Servants have to go into their work Space only 2/3 days - mostly they can work from HOME. But No One Does - see so many at pickle ball, tennis and out doing what they want. When you call a Civil servant, you can never get them. They get all the perks - Med/Dent//Pharma and massive days off as sick days off and holidays! @@longjohn77 I'm not sure why you find it necessary to be insulting. They say that men with inferiority complexes do that.
You claim that Singh is all about qualifying for his fed pension. Okay, let's play. Poilievre has never been Prime Minister. If he is ever elected and holds that post for 4 years he gets a higher pension. So, I guess we can assume that is what motivates him to run for P.M. ... same logic right?
Can't trust singh
Can't trust any politician😂
And Trudeau
You can't trust ant politician. That you think your boy will not sell you out for the wealthy and corporations as conservatives have for decades means you're too irresponsible and brainwashed to vote.
Can’t trust that Singh, but you can trust me
As a hard core conservative , vassey is one of the few journalist I actually trust.
Are you crazy? She’s a liberal activist. Do not call her a journalist.

Then I may start to listen a little more.
Lots of blaming each other but nothing about how they will repair our country ...
I'm hoping it's not too far gone to be saved
Why is an election not being called? As the conservatives have said once one is called they will be putting out their policies. If one wants to know try listening to what he is saying. Trudeau is not able to fix anything, doesn't do politics now and will let the budget balance itself. This has added to inflation and a poor productivity for Canada. Get this government out asap.
He announced he's running for prime minister which is hilarious. I haven't laughed so hard in a while!

Tom Mulchair has the most realisgic reaction to Singh. He says that Singh is overreacting and he won't be able to retract without making himself look foolish.
I just want to say thank you Vassy, I feel like your persistent pressure on Jagmeet and the NDP in recent interviews had quite the influence on this NDP decision.
If we do get an early election, alot of that comes down to you and your reporting.
Hardly, Vassy is a Liberal Activisit hack and nothing more.
It's all theater, most likely a last minute decision by Signh. Doesn't appear like his party knew
Time to vote😊
As a former NDP voter and supporter I have to say, Singh has burned any chance of my support of that party for as long as any of the current MP’s remain a part of it. For them to support him is beyond the pale.
The ship is about to collapse so they are jumping ship 😂😂😂
I'd really like to know where the Libs/NDP are delivering for Canadians, I have never had such a low amount of disposable income in my life after pay living expenses. If you keep delivering how can you keep increasing the cost of heating, electricity , fuel, groceries from the April fools day carbon tax annual increase? Why won't ANY reporter ask that question to the leaders in an interview? Oh yeah, cause they will just keep the rhetoric of " doing more for Canadians" which they are , but it's just the Canadians that are MP's and senators. What an insult to our intelligence!
Look to your province for answers. Those are provincial jurisdiction questions, not federal
Every issue you just listed is managed by the provincial government, not the federal btw. Which party governs your province?
NDP in BC. They are going to be voted out. The whole drug scene in BC is just gross, health care is deplorable with many closures in emergency department’s occurring constantly.
N@@kiwedinikwe1087Trudeau had the provinces make a deal with these programs like $10 a day care, which is failing because the provinces can't afford the cost . These programs are not free, and not available to many. Dental is crappy and failing also, if you make over 70,000 a year you don't qualify, it is income based on a sliding scale.
@@marlainerose3340 I think you should read up a bit more on the program and why it's failing in Ontario. Quebec has had this system since before I was born, and I'm almost 30. I went to a subsidized daycare myself and it was awesome. It's not been a problem because Quebec believes in investing in children. The feds introduced it because it's more fair and equitable for all children regardless of their parent's financial situation, and ensures they receive equal care. Ontario Conservatives have only been cutting funding for childcare programs, and just this year cut the budget for childcare in Ontario by $85.5 million. So again, let's not blame this on the feds, when Ford is actively telling you with his budgetary choices that he does not care about Ontario's children. He's too busy trying to privatize the daycare system for profit - at the expensive of parents who are already struggling to get by. Let's just place blame where blame is due, and not point fingers at Trudeau because we don't like him.
The words Singh and smart shouldn't be used in the same sentence
