What a sweet video....u are so good with kids!! I'm so impressed w ur interviewing style, how open and friendly you are, very kind, great with children- I can see they trust you. This whole exchange was very endearing and genuine.
Btw- I was surprised when u said in the beginning that your Chinese was bad and u apologized to the lady. U sound so fluent to me- from the inflection in your voice, to pronunciation, continuity of thought/speech and facial expressions/gestures seem culturally Chinese (this perspective coming from a non-Chinese person...but i would have thought u grew up here! In China)....I don't speak Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) so I couldn't tell if u made any slight mistake, but that's not what is important. What is important is that you are a kind, friendly person who is curious about the world, with a good heart that wants to explore, question, be open to differences and find the common thread, the connectivity. I think your wonderful spirit will help u face any adversity you may encounter :) Shame on the people who are saying mean things in comments, or being disrespectful. It is simply cruel.

As a man who domiciles in China, I've experienced in general that kids (especially the Chinese ones )are so lovely, friendly and respectiful

This is such an awesome video. I'm black and have been studying Chinese for almost 7 years. The two times I visited China, I never ran into another black person who also spoke the language. I'm definitely looking forward to watching more of these interviews!

Once Mexican tv dramas are populau in China. Don't see them recently. My impression about Mexican: food is great, tv drama is extremly long.
No country is ever truly isolated from rest of world, and China is no exception. World events have shaped China, and China also shaped world events. A change in world perception by Chinese may occur slowly in China, but it is still ongoing and it begins with our children, who will form next generation of Chinese.

Han Chinese been conquered by Mongol and Manchu before, but they still failed to significantly alter China's demographic. China has over 50 different minority ethnic groups, but still, 9 out 10 Chinese are Han.

Europeans are still the majority in their own country, and besides, their immigration policies are looser, whereas China's immigration policies are much stricter. Look at how easy apply for citizenship in USA for example. If you have relatives that are US citizens, then you eligible apply for US citizenship. China's immigration policies will ensure that our demographics are conservated, even after thousands of years, Han Chinese are still dominant ethnic group in China.
Yeah but if they don't change that China will face big problems such as aging population and declining population. Look at Japan protecting their own ethnicity and tight immigration control, Japan is already in deep trouble. Europeans are still the majority in their own countries but we have to admit that the demographics is already changing with the future generations of all the immigrants from other continents. Take America for example white population is closing to 70% and in a few decades they will be even less although still being the majority. Hispanic immigration a few decades ago and recent Asian immigration are the main causes
my friend, the only way to change china is to kill the old guys,,kill all old women and men leaving the young ones.....
There are over 2million Chinese living across Africa, if the Chinese do not want to integrate then they should not send their people to the rest of the world, they should just stay at home.

Nigerian women in Nigeria don't associate with their Nigerian origins with all that hair straightening, wig wearing and skin bleaching.

you can tell that she has a lot of African in her, she has that big personality/individuality & intelligence, also has that funky type of koolness & swag that only Africans have, she seems happy i hope as she grows up that she will mostly be surrounded by positive people but i get the feeling that she is a tough one & won't have any problems

tyjghjghhh I don’t believe you can make such a general assumption about a whole race. I’ve met plenty of very nice white ppl. I think we all should be judged case by case
tyjghjghhh I’m American of Chinese heritage. I’m sure you are speaking from your honest experience, but every person’s experience is different. In my personal experience, I’ve gotten along just fine with persons of all different races, socioeconomic backgrounds, and religions. Of course there are bad seeds in every demographic, but whites are no worse than Asians, blacks, or any others. That’s just my take on things, not refuting your experiences.....
Diversity can make china better? really? What youre asking for is more mixed kids and not necessarily Diversity. Diversity means a range of different things this can mean languages, tribes, reglions, traditions etc it does not just mean racial diversity and i dont know what "problem" is being solved if more mixed babies were to run around in china. Lets not encourage the big lie clueless people like to thnk which is that "mixed babies will end racism " because they wont and dont and this coming from a child of a fellow "blasian". Also blasians arent new are rare to that region of asia infact during the war many women ended up having children by black american men
Dayra Chi I’m sorry you feel this way. You are certainly entitled to your way of thinking. That’s just my opinion. I wasn’t even thinking of problem solving through diversity. I was not that profound. Rather, it was just my unfiltered and heart-felt happy reaction to seeing that beautiful blasian child. just saying that it would be better when various races are truly integrated, not just by words, but by actual reality. What’s more real than kids who are the results and proof of love between races?
I understand but the issue is people always making it seem as if biracials are something new and extra ordinary when really were not. A child whose parents are the same race are just as much proof of love i dont understand what race has to do with it and ask for intergration a person doesnt have to be out there ONLY being with another race inorder to intergrate. intergration is not race reated and more to do with accepting and learning from once culture as well as respecting their people. Also a person can not fully be intergrated until they are also seen as an equal. Peoples obsessiom with wanting mixed babies needs to stop. The only thing that will make china better in terms of tolerance is exposure to more cultures and not just western only then will they slowly but surely (majority) respect Black people who arent westerners and or south asians

Good vid. It would have been nice to know how their parents met. Does that girl realize her roots? She seems to only be aware she's Chinese.
I am sure she know her roots as she know where her father is from. Only when she became older and started to work she will be more a defender of her being proud to be half african and half chinese and I bet it will turn out to be an advantage telling people what her roots is. Presently Blasian is still relative rare in China and they will be seen as exotic and most likely get more kind attention than negatives one. But I do agree she better brush up her English and because the stereotype would expect from her and to save the all the hassle to explain, girl you better study hard. :-)
