Lyrics:
See it coming like a train in the distance
Watching everything change in an instant
Magical, feeling indestructible
You don’t even care what they’re thinking
When you don’t slow down it won’t sink in
On your own, out there in the great unknown
Rolling too fast
Two hundred on the dash
Tell me what’d you do
What’d you do, Is it bad?
Could’ve been worse
End up in a hearse
Talking to nobody, nobody
Somebody’s spilled
End up getting grilled
Temporary fix now you’re living with the guilt
Feel it over and over
Looking over you’re shoulder
You’re gonna get it
Might as well admit it
Cuz you know you’re gonna get it
Might as well admit it
Cuz you know you’re gonna get it
I’m really feeling this one
Like I already won
Ain’t about to give some traction
To my detractors cuz I will outrun
And I’ll outwork them dude
And I’ma finna too
No warnings or letters to let them
Know that I’m not fearing you
I know you’re gonna try
You already know
Rolling all the dice
Kick ‘em down the road
I’ll be on the side
Watching you blowup oh
Rolling too fast
Two hundred on the dash
Tell me what’d you do
What’d you do, Is it bad?
Could’ve been worse
End up in a hearse
Talking to nobody, nobody
Somebody’s spilled
End up getting grilled
Temporary fix now you’re living with the guilt
Feel it over and over
Looking over you’re shoulder
You’re gonna get it
Might as well admit it
Cuz you know you’re gonna get it
Might as well admit it
Cuz you know you’re gonna get it

the fact that 311 is not only still together, but also putting out new music kicks ass!
Not just that but all original members. That's something to be proud of.
something System of a Down should take notes on
Absolutely I agree with a passion. Saw them in Charleston SC and it was indescribable
Hell yes
Hell yeah! I'm seeing them this Wednesday.
Yes! Bring back the heavy 311 riffs and solid SA lines!
What's an SA?
@@profound369 tell me you don’t know 311 without telling me you don’t know 311
@@laflamablanca311 dude. Not everyone knows what every acronym means. Has nothing to do with the band
@@profound369 it does have everything to do with the band because SA is a member of 311.
@@laflamablanca311 well now i know. Cool. I've listened to all their albums just never knew the band members names
P-Nut yelling "Fuck Yeah" when Nick gets laid out lol
This made me laugh! And I re-watched it again just because of this comment, did not notice that until I read your comment. But it's indeed funny as hell! Lol😂😅
Imagine how excited P-nut would have been if it was Chad?
Finally a little heavier 311 again! More of this please
you're only referring to a segment of the song - the chorus. the rest of the song - the verses - are no different than a typical Katy Perry pop song - only its dressed up in the elements that trick your brain to falsely think otherwise. Those elements include but are not limited to the (1) distortion guitars (2) the shaky camera and flashing lights in the video and the attempting-to-be-intense fight club scene that accompanies it. sorry but the majority of this song is vocal melody AND voice inflection *representative* of modern pop music. And this has been the desired direction of the band's songwriters for a long time now. Till The City's On Fire is a perfect representative of this pop camoflauged as rock songs they write. so, no, being heavy isn't simply have a chorus section in drop D tuning. No, heavy is a mindset too and this band only dabbles in it at this point. and if you can except THAT explanation of what they are now and drop the inaccurate "heavy" part of your description than that's your choice but one that I would respect more. and my respect is required because i'm the *silly goose.*
@@SillyGoose2024 your right it def is only heavier in parts
@@SillyGoose2024well said tbh
311 should be writing their own music, like they always have. They brag about being independent but collaborative work with an artist outside of the group, feels like the industry is still controlling them.....sad really but hey, nothing lasts forever
@@SillyGoose2024 Those have only been a few of their songs for the last few albums. Produced by the guy from Goldfinger... whatever his name is. Apparently, he produces a lot of hits, so I guess 311 are hoping the same. Those songs have been consistently considered among the weakest tracks on the albums (among their biggest fans). And I would agree.
That said, those songs have gotten better since he first started collaborating with them, in my opinion, though I still feel they're generally the weakest songs on the albums.
I'm just glad they still end up making songs like Wildfire, Too Late, Face in the Wind, and What The?! I expect the same for this album.
Seeing a 54 year old shredded Nick Hexum gives me a massive amount of motivation to keep working out.
I'm pretty close to Nick. Been working out 18 years straight.
Same here, I’ll be turning 40 soon and while I’m fit I don’t look anywhere near as shredded as Nick
I’ve drug my ass back into working out and just kinda plateau’s recently. I’ve got the same body type as Nick so yeah, that’s hella motivation for my almost 40 year old ass!
Hexum has such an unrealistic ripped body...
@@joemuscarella2986 right its basically the same thing with any of these rich guys. Money, time, and motivation. Us normies would have a much harder time achieving that especially at his age.
If you are 311 fan, do yourself a favor and catch them live... they put on a great show.
Yes, they do!
Hell yeah! After nearly 30 years of being a fan I finally saw them live Memorial Day weekend of 2023. I was Front Row Joe! I uploaded a couple of video shorts on my UA-cam channel.
I tried but they canceled Europe lol
Seen them 5 times. Always special.
Seen them a handful of times, they're coming around St Aug in Aug and I'll be there
311’s (still) got the boom ya’llll
....and Grassroots...
Got Damn Do They Ever... 😳🤘🏻🤙🏾
Ain't no such thing as a lukewarm 311 fan!!!
The band has character names in the video!
Chad, as Fergus "The Shark" Floyd.
Tim, as Shamrock.
P-Nut, as Knuckles.
SA, as Sal "Speedy" Sanabria.
Nick, as Hammer Down Hex
Love it.
Still my favorite band… And I’m 47. 311 = best band in the land.
60 shows on my belt since 1994, 1000% agree! 🔥
Hello generation, i've been a huge fan of 311 since 1994
Im 44 and been listening since 1994. I'm from Nick's town of origin so almost every tour they play here in Madison Wis!
I have never seen 311 live because they are not traveling to Europe much... I am from Croatia..
51. Saw them in a National Guard armory gym when I was 18.
Ok 311, we are ready for the INEVITIBLE heavy single for the oldschool fans.
Hexum is shredded! He can float like a butterfly and sting like poison ivy. P-Nut looked sinister. Love SA and Chad as promoters and miT the ref. 311 Forever! This song knocks btw, watch out
Amazing to think we're still not that far removed from P-Nut saying he was taking a break from the band. And now we have awesome new music. Love that these guys have stuck with it through thick and thin.
We've all probably all had our own version of that at work or in life. So cool to see when people can get past their differences and be a cause for good.
He did? May you please briefly tell me what happened?
@@kevin55967 it was during the peak of the BLM riots and the 2020 election and all that. Chad supports Trump, and I guess the riff among them had pushed P-Nut towards wanting to step away. I don’t know if P-Nut still has the tweet up, but he very publicly posted after the cruise and tour obligations were met in either 2021 or 2022 he would be stepping away.
I feel like we are entering in a new 311 era…
must be
So when’s Hexum v Tyson ?
I mean it is a new single and album, so...uh yeah..
I'm glad their having fun and not taking themselves too serious. Looking forward to the rest of the songs.
Let it begin 🍸
311 came through with this one. Certified 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
311 didn't write it through
I've been a fan of 311 for 30 years now (sounds crazy to say) and this song is proof of why I STILL love this band. On a side note, holy hell, Nick is jacked! I hope I look that could when I'm 54.
Me for 29
RIP my salty sister Aubrey! I know you heard this new jam from beyond the grey sky ❤️💛💚
Beyond the grey sky
You're Gonna Get It! That's NickHEX and he's 6'3 like Muhammad Ali,float like a butterfly, sting like poison ivy

Isn't the line "sting like poison ivy"?
Yes..yes it is 🤭
Sting like poison ivy, Drive a ‘69 Lincoln, suicide doors

311 returns to blow me away. Again.
311 Era has arrived again.
34 years together and still crankin’ out smash hits
Haha I JUST posted this and one of my comments was that I truly don't think that there's not a single solitary move that any of these guys make that DOESN'T turn into gold 🪙
I'm an OG from the 90s fan 🤩
And my girlfriend Barbara and I just seen them for the first time at Sonic Temple 😁
What a amazing song!! I like the new Era of 311!!
FINALLY! May the album announcement soon follow!

So many positive comments here. I started "liking' them all, but then I realized I could never get through the whole list. I think I'd be great friends with everyone on this thread. 311 still has something very special. Thankful to have grown up with them.
311 concert should be on everyone’s bucket list
Been twice and they rock. Seen then on alien head tour. Then 3 yrs ago at the beach . It was great
My dad and I took the trip from South Carolina to Louisville last year for Louder Than Life to go see Weezer and Foo Fighters. Having 311 on the bill was a huge plus and were incredible! Also had Rancid and L7 that same day
@@tresdabney703 Awesome, all great bands. I ve seen all of them except Weezer.
311 throws down , saw them at least 10 times by now.
My show count is around 10 at least. But I haven't seen them since mosaic tour.
What a bada$$ Song!!!! This is the 311 style I love!!
One of my all time favorite bands. These guys never fail to impress. They’re the very best. Congrats to Nick on being in such great shape. Awesome tune guys
S.A. 's verse is Sooooo Smooth!!!!!!!! Ahhĥhhhh.... 🎉
The new song is 🔥🔥, heard it in Vegas at 311 Day!!
ヤバっ! 久しぶりにheavyな311が帰ってきた! 最高かよっ!!!!!!!!
I’m shocked at how refreshing and downright ferocious this song is
??? lol - this sounds like katy perry what on earth are u even talking about
@@SillyGoose2024 I like it. Is there something wrong with that?
You guys were my mom's favorite band. She was born March 11 1983, passed away August 10th 2022. My biggest dream was to see you guys with her but even if I could see you guys by myself it would make it worth it. Keep rocking!
311 doesn't disappoint
That breakdown is cooking! 😵
SA mastermind 👽🔥👽
Yup, 10 out of 10
Before I watch this I have brace myself. I'm not sure I'm ready for another great 311 song/album.
Ok...Here we go!🎉....
Yep. I knew I was right. Great new 311! 311 forever!
Makes me happy to see this...love 311
the first rule is "You do not talk about Fight Club".. Amber is the color of your energy . 311 is the best! 🥰🤟
Real Musicians right here... true OG's
Dude.... This is what we all needed. Dude when SA comes in, I dropped my phone. 50 plus years old. Give me a f****** break. 311. You are the greatest of all time. 🤘🏻💯🤘🏾🔥🤙🏻🤙🏾
Kudos to keeping it till 2024 guys. 311 are true musicians. Tim Mahoney is a genius.
Severely underrated
Do some research, 311 didn't write this. Some young 19 year old kid who writes for the Jonas Brothers, got the writing credit for this.
@@LaneTheBrane And produced by the Papa Roach guy, huh? No wonder it sounds like this. 😓
@@UntetheredBansheeyeah, this sounds nothing like what 311 excels at imo, verh disappointed, hopefully the new album has something they all mutually wrote
They shoudve jammed this one out a little more
Right!? This song is only missing one Thing. Well 2 lol. A bit more Jam Time. And most of All, an Epic Timmy Solo 😳💯🤘🏻
To be fair 311 only has solos in about 25 to 30 percent of their whole catalog.
I consider myself an expert on their catalog.
For example, there's not a drum roll on the tom toms ,of any kind,on transistor, until track 9 "use of time" .
My first thought. But still an awesome song
Absolutely love this new song!!
this was unexpected. good tune! hope the rest of the album has the same energy
They still kick azz after all these years!
Nice to see some of that old school 311 style evolved into some new 311 style. Fuck yeah
Well that was a pleasant surprise!! I like SA's style lately and how much he's evolved and matured (in a wisdom-ey way).
We're all getting old. But 311 never does.
Those double guitars riffis sound heavyAF, what a banger of a jam. Love that last part, duh du duu-du duh dah du du dah duuh 🙌
a fan for more than 30 years! still here! excellent song!
This is beyond what i was expecting in all the right ways. So exciting to hear more 311.
My anthem whilst divorcing a narcissist, by one of my best friend’s husband who I admire! It’s cosmic, it’s divine timing and a new era for 311 this song is LIT 🔥
Feels like a big renewed energy and direction and I’m very excited for them
WOW!!! A different side of 311. Yeah!!! Make it LOUD!
thats what im talking about ...... my favorite band back at
it again 311 forever
You guys have been on absolute fire. 30+ years as a fan and been loving all the new sounds and new musical roads. You're like a fine 🍷. Keep it up!!! Make 'em for 30 more.....PLEASE!
Renegade Reggae Soundsystem starting like a ballad then turning into a headbanging Banger!! 311!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Noice!
New 311?! YES!!! ❤
I've been listening to 311 since Grassroots and 2023 was the first time seeing live. What a performance and you'll appreciate them more. Awolnation opening was also a bonus!
Hexum is shredded!
This is what I’m taking about! Let’s goooo!
Awesome song, guys. Splendid shape,Nick. Thank you so much. Been listening to one of my favorite bands over 20 yrs. Love from Saint Petersburg,Russia
311 has always understood the drop. Love the song. Gona do well live
just as good as ever…one of the few bands that have gotten better with age👍🏼
One of my favorite bands . Had the pleasure of getting back stage to meet nick hexum in the late 90’s at a show at Irvine meadows in California, he was one of the sweetest guys and very personable… I loved this music in my high school days and continue to love it even now at 43 . Definitely nostalgic just hearing them again , what an era they came up in , can’t wait to see what’s next !
Getting Colin Brittain to produce this was a genius call
It's 12:30 am and I am too hyped to rack out because I just heard 311 rocking out!
Good song.
Good video.
311 does the modern rock stuff uniquely.
Sometimes is good and sometimes not.
The cool thing is that, they are fearless and unapologetic.
311 has blended styles together as early as the first demo and were clearly influenced by other hybrid bands like rhcp, bad brains, prince,Jane's addiction, beatles, ect.
This is what makes them special.
Seen em 30 times exactly.
2 311 days.
Incredible band who deserves to be recognized for their efforts.
311 is down for the unity and fighting!!!
Sometimes you gotta fight for Unity!
Just saw them tonight in Raleigh. I first saw them in 95 in LA. These guys still have it!
Once again, Nick fears no man and he's unarmed... 👊
Because Guns are for Pussies ha!

YESSSS. 5 years is too long between albums but any 311 I get, ILL TAKE IT! Best band of all time. The last week I’ve been listening to a lot of Mosaic and Stereolithic… Stereolithic is one of my favorite albums of all time. Not just 311, underrated album IMO. And now we get a new release!!! Yay :)
I agree Stereolithic is the best of their later stuff. Wish they would play Sand dollars more live.
@@brianmyers9989 I’m with you there. Stereolithic is my personal favorite of their “later stuff”. Which is an era I personally start at Uplifter in the large chunk of my long term memory that 311’s music inhabits. Where do you start the era of “later stuff” yourself?
@@grandmadaewood Dude, that is exactly where I start their "later" stuff. For me, Music through From Chaos was almost flawless, Evolver good, Tread, so so. Uplifter was a let down and I stopped keeping up w the new stuff. I later realized Stereo was a standout.
311 is their own genre of rock.
And in one song you've made me want to get back in the gym
Yeah, it's time.
Still got it! One of the most underrated bands of all time..
Gangster art direction and cinematography!! That track hits hard as hell too! 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡
Thank you 🙏
Very much here for this🙌
Holy Sh*t !! Got it!!
Omg nick hexum is like a fine wine....
Cool to see the boys still got it. Rap verse and choruses go hard.
This is S.A. Martinez best rap work in a long time. It sounds current.
I rapped too and struggled to keep up with the constant changing trends, from gast, to mumble, to auto tuned. so i stuck with fast stuff holding out hope that it would come back.
But now i believe Melodic slower lines, with 2 to 3 notes makes the best music, irs easier for the average person to digest your art, and its here to stay for awhile.
And luckily S.A. is already an incredible singer, i think this should be his new style, it sounds incredible to me, i love it ❤ and i hope to hear a lot more this.
And its super cool because its taken him a lifetime to be great at both. And this feels like a fusion of his best strengths.
I just can't say enough!
Im ready for more!
So much fun to see all of the guys having fun! 311 for life.
When I picked 311 as my favorite band back in high school 1996, I made the best pick. They look great till this day. Love this new tune.
We have been 311 fans since 1995!
Goshh these guys just sound better and better with age
Omg !!!
Let’s go. Monday. Berlin!!!!!
Sounds legit.
How is it possible they still haven’t peaked after all these years?! They’re incredible! This new song is amazing! 10/10
Man...they peak every new album!
You guys STILL HAVE IT. Absolutely insane, loved this
Please, please, PLEASE release an instrumental only version of your next album like you did with Voyager. That was such an incredible idea/addition and its like getting 2 unique albums in 1.
Literally begging. Love you all.
