But I haven't had the excited feeling at seeing 311 for the first time ever idk how but ya never made it a 311 show they're gonna be here in fresno at the fair playing in a great small-ish outdoor amphitheater which is dug out like a bowl.... I'm 58 and discovered them when I would have been around 28 and totally loved the band. Of course, I was living at the beach and still living like a teenager and trying to hang on to my youth and 311 takes me to those days. I tell ya, listening to Amber is like a literal time machine and I'm back walking on the beach, scoping out the ladies with a nice buzz or riding Ocean Blvd in my little Suzuki Samurai. Man, it's funny how a song can instantly transport you to a specific place and time. 311 sounds just as good today as they did back then. Nick seems to be in great shape and taking care of himself. Kudos to these guys, must really care for each other because it is super RARE for bands to last even half this time without a plethora of lineup changes. Thanks to KROQ for this very cool little concert!
Fucking Same! My first 311 memory is a middle school field trip to Kennedy space center. 1996. My friend who knew I was obsessed with less than Jake, Blink and offspring,...was all check this out. 311, 311 on repeat for the 4 hour drive and I was hooked. I'm 40 years old and this is one of the only bands I have never gotten bored with. A band who has stayed true and never sold out. I could never get sick of this sound.
I graduated in 1995. Saw them open for my friends brothers band at Burke high school when they did Slinky Girl, saw 311 at Sharky’s 1993. Took my son last September in Lavista still great band
I saw them in small clubs in LA and Long Beach in the early 90’s when only the first album was out. Such great memories. They sound just as good now as they did then.
These guys have been my favorite band since I was 15 years old. I saw them every year, even before I could drive! It wasn’t until I was 32 years old that I stopped seeing them every year, but that’s only because they haven’t played a handicapped access venue. It honestly breaks my heart that I haven’t seen them live in 12 years, but I am still a diehard fan!!!
