Ahhhh to be 16 again, I was 16 in 2004 when this was all over FuseTV and rock radio stations. Times were different back then. If only I could go back in time and do things differently and do things over again, part of me would. I would have enjoyed the moment/ride of life. I'm enjoying it now, at 34 years of age.

One of the best jobs a band has ever done of a cover.
311 captured a "drunk outside a bar on a beach with your girlfriend in the cool breeze" vibe with this cover. The original song had a nice gothic-rock vibe, but 311's version just captures that feeling of a specific place and time. Not many songs can do that.
Very underrated. I barely listened to the cure but them a different version like this song made me know to listen more carefully instead being a numb mind listening to trends.

I had a 311 obsession and burned out after Soundsystem. Good to be back. 38 fn years the same dudes stuck together 😳 Never stopped working hard keeping their chops up, staying fit, and latest shows prove it. Mad respect 💪
2024 here. I fell down the rabbit hole when I saw a "behind the desk" performance. They got up there in qge and I just wanted to see if they still the same dudes when younger. Listened to them a lot back in the 90s and 2000s.

I've never heard this cover before, but as a fan of The Cure, 311 really did take a the right approach to this song. It has the same emotion as the original, but sounds like a song that the band made their own.

This video makes me think about how my son-in-law met my daughter. She and her friends were always going to shows at Gilman. She came home and told me about a punk-rockabilly band she was dancing to and the guitarist/singer/songwriter made a beeline toward her when their set was over and said, "I love you. Will you marry me?" She laughed, but for him it really was love at first sight. He was one of the best human beings I've ever known, sweet, funny, amazingly talented; a third-generation classically-trained professional musician, whose favorite music to play made him famous. We lost him to an incurable condition young and we love and miss him to this day.

I first heard this track a few weeks before "50 first dates" movie was released in theaters. I believe back in the day, record stores would release soundtracks before movies were released in theaters. Those were the days. This songs keeps me in 2004 every time I hear it.

I got to hold her and sing this, beautiful disaster and amber to her along with SA, Nick and the band playing. I lost her a month and a half ago. I've been trying to be strong, but I'm really struggling. I come back to these songs and watch the concert we attended(was livestreamed album release show). I remember the whole show.

I was locked up from late 2003(September) til summer(June)2005. I was only 19 and when I got out I was already 21. So it was to my surprise that one of my favorite bands from my teenage years made such a great cover of an amazing song from the 80's.
I guess it was a weird bittersweet feeling.

I remember hearing this on car rides with my parents. I was 10 when this was on the radio, 2004-2005. It matched like seeing the Heavens meet the Earth on any beautiful day usually with clouds in the sky and having a grayish-blue color.
