I’ve got a drop cat 38, it was meant to be a 33” but they sent the wrong one, I kept it anyway, so fun. Now i am getting okay at doing basic slides, I’m going to get the new Freedive Reef I think. The micro drops intrigue me.
Switchblade is definitely a good recommendation. Like you said though, downhill/freeride decks are a very personal preference thing. The switchblade is a really good board to learn on but I would personally go for the Freedive because it's topmount and smaller. Drop throughs can go fast in a straight line very well but as soon as you do any turning, the top mounts are taking the win. Also top mounts are just more lively and you get more input onto the trucks, drop throughs can get boring once you get more advanced. But again, it's all personal preference. Nice video, keep it up!
Also, would love you to do a comparison on the Dinghy vs Arbor Oso. I bought an Oso recently and absolutely love it. The ACE trucks are, well, ace lol. It sits low and carves nicely but the bigger platform is super comfortable and heaps of deck space. Being 30 inches long it's still ultra portable. Keen to get your thoughts. Thanks man love your work !
Never ridden one, but I've heard good things about the rally-cat. Its an ATV cruiser thats like ~34" with apparently more rocker than the drop-cat. Its literally just a flat popsicle shape but long and with so much rocker that the flat butt and nose turn into kicktails
I have a rally-cat and 7 other board, long board, cruiser and normal popsicle board but the rally cat is the one I used the most, it basically can do everything, u can cruise, downhill, pump, and pop an ollie no problem. I freaking loved that board
Hey OG ! Got my first Landyachtz recently, a Battle Axe 38. I went with this over the Drop Cat due to the slight pintail shape so it has a bit of a tail for when I progress to do some tricks. I've put 80mm Orangutan 77a (sky blue) wheels and its an absolute cruising beast. Might get a Drop Cat 33 at some point in future just to try though
What do you think about the battle axe? I love the shape and the graphics, and i know that if you love a board, thats the one, but i would be happy with some opinions
Should I get the dingy turbo flight over the blunt or tugboat because I want speed and I am not new (I am comfortable with the smaller deck size) but I still think I'd like to do some basic downhill stand up slides
@@bonerboy196 if it's stable enough I can just ride out hills because I don't live near large downhill areas anyway. Getting a smaller diameter wheel dingy might not be worth it over the turbo for me even if it's more versatile in some basic tricks and slides because since the dingy is meant to be a cruiser to begin with I'm thinking turbo beats it for fast cruising, comfort over bumps, and a portable board size I'm comfortable with
Turbo will def give you fast cruising and stability over bumps and supreme smoothness, but like mentioned above me, the sliding is definitely not great.
These videos helped me out alot man. After doing some research on hardware and board comp, I finally landed on the Drop Hammer white pinecone. Never know when you need to go into the office with style 🤣.
I recently got my first Landyatchz, a Dinghy Blunt Pinecone, and it's really amazing. The over-all quality, the style, the wheel well, the smoothness, the speed on a flat concrete road that blews my hair is incomparable. Highly recommended! BTW, here in Thailand there is a phenomenal active surfskate scene (here, skateboarding never have time like this). Almost everyone that has a chance to try (me not yet) the Pocket knife and Butter line surfskates said it was the most disappointed experience even when compared to many much cheeper surfskate boards from China. The trucks are way too less turny and hard to maneuver, the wheelbase too short for their liking, and the price point.

It’s a carvey cruiser so you can carve hard if you want but also push for longer distances due to the more stability vs a traditional surf skate. every dinghy performs almost exactly the same.
