    I got mine at RealSteelShop.com If you are not yet signed up at RealSteelShop use this REFERRAL link and you will get $20USD credit that you can use toward your first purchase: i.refs.cc/5KfjxRb3
    There are some other Exclusive versions with other handle materials and M390. But look hard as a number of stores are saying the ROKOT is discontinued, so if you want one, now is the time.

    Hi buddy, thanks for the very high quality review of my knife. The funny thing is that my name is on this knife three times. The third time it is indicated on the clip in Morse code in Russian. Paracord is fairly easy to insert without completely disassembling the knife. You need to unscrew the two screws that hold the spacer closer to the blade. Then pull out the nuts. After that, loosen the screw that fixes the spacer and the clip and turn the spacer into the pole relative to it. In this case, the hole for the paracode will open as much as possible, and it will be easy for you to thread it there. Then you need to return the spacer to its original position and assemble the knife. This is done simply and quickly. I hope my chopping block of English will allow you to understand the idea. Thanks again for the great review, regards Ivan D. Braginets!

      And I believe you can remove/move the clip without removing the scales, as is done with some SOG knives.

      Aha, so the morse code did mean something. I don't know morse code at all, and I tried to input it into a morse code website but it didn't work for me.
      Thanks for describing a way to more easily insert paracord.
      Your English is just fine. I have reviewed a number of your knives, I am quite fond of your designs.

      Yes Barry, the clip is quite easy to change from one side to the other.

    Nice video but even though I've had the same idea about the clip it doesn't seem to be Morse code.
    I've tried a Morse code translator that gave me UANGI (not unagi) for one way and IWAND for the upside down view on the knife.
    Maybe I'm missing something or maybe it's another part of the Voynich manuscript...

      I was thinking UPGI one way or IWPD the other. spacing between letters is not clear... but neither make any sense. I'd have to HEAR it.

      Hello buddy. Everything is fine there, and my name is really written there. Only this is done in Russian. I am a Russian speaking person!)))

      So, my sense that it was morse code is correct. I did test it out on a webpage that was supposed to decode the morse code to English, but it makes sense that it didn't work because it was RUSSIAN morse code.

    The description on real steel's site says the Morse code spells out the designers name .

      Thanks. Ivan even commented (after you) telling us the same thing. So he gt his branding on the knife 3 times instead of just once like most designers get. Good for him.

    I've never spent one hundred USD on a knife, the most I think I've spent is between $60 and $70, on 3 or 4 knives I have. Anyway, I'm thinking about biting the bullet and buying the new Buck 112 Slim Pro TRX in black G-10, but that's a lot of money on a Buck probably. It's listed at $99.99 I get to thinking about Spyderco and/or Benchmade and hope I don't live to regret it.

      This knife was $75, and the G10 version is $65 at Real Steel Shop.
      I too don't spend this much very often. I try to stick below $60USD for knives - 90% of the time.

    I got the white G-10 variant. All's good except I find the pocket clip to thin and not much for my fingers to grab onto when flipping the blade open. Great video!

      @CanadianCuttingEdge  2 роки тому

      Thanks for sharing your experience. Maybe the G10 is a bit slicker in hand than this micarta is because I didn't have that concern at all. Also, I mostly used the thumbstuds.

  • @barrybogart5436
    @barrybogart5436 2 роки тому

    I do like it a lot, and the 'Morse' clip almost convinces me, but it is too pricey for N690, and you only get $10 off from RS, not $20. I'd rather have a regular flipper too. Maybe in brown Micarta from a Canadian source...

    • @CanadianCuttingEdge
      @CanadianCuttingEdge  2 роки тому

      Perhaps they have changed it, it used to be $20 if you used my referral link, but that was when the store was brand new. Thanks for the update on that.

      @@CanadianCuttingEdge You are right - the $10 is for signing up for their email.... does that make it $30USd? VERY interesting. Just that pesky CBSA to worry about.

      Thanks. I have lived in 4 different provinces in Canada and I am quite fond of living so close to the Rocky Mountains. now I just need to get my knee healed up enough so I can hike in the mountains again this summer.
