I worked on an advertising project and contacted Marcus Winslow thru Dean’s image representative and after a few days heard back from the Winslow family thru the representatives who explained that the Winslows offered to provide Dean’s image for our use for no compensation. I was blown away at their generosity. The Winslows are real, genuine people.

Around 2008 in Santa Clarita CA we had a James Dean gathering with around 30 people with some family member being present .That day I met, and talked with, the police officer that was on the accident site , his name is Ron Nelson .We talked about the crash and the last moments of Jimmy's life .He confirmed that there was no speed involved at all at the moment of the crash .People are mistaken with the speed ticket he got a bit earlier before the accident that was above 70mph but at the accident time it was evaluated at no more than 50 mph and collision at less than 30mph .The Porsche was so light construction that if it had been any faster the car would have been pulverized .So it is a very unfortunate accident caused by the sun reverberation on the Tarmac with a silver tiny car on it and probably Jimmy assuming the guy saw him .Mr Turnupseed just didn't pay enough attention on an empty road when he turned left

He was very photogenic. He was practicing to being himself. And underneath the cool exterior was a bubble of energy like an enthusiastic child. When a person like that becomes victorious and then passes away every generation afterwards is hoping to become those three qualities and that’s why he still lives.

Very sad ending of an extraordinary young man with so much promise and immense talent. Dean had so much more to give. It is almost as if he felt like he had to rush life and live fast because he somehow knew life was short for him. Tragic. If he were alive today, he'd be 93 years old.

You know, Jimmy had such eclectric, interesting friends he surrounded himself with, Martin Landau, Eartha Kitt, Rydall and all the others. But he was a tough nut to crack, I don't think anyone really knew him, just parts of him, he was that complex. If that makes any sense. He was always working on improving his craft and becoming a better actor, and he liked to study people and their reactions. He was a natural. I read he even studied the farm animals he grew up with to gain insights.
He was an extrovert but at times he could be an introvert and distant. You could be in a room full of people sitting next to him, but if he wasn't in the mood for talking, he just would ignore you. He disliked small talk and the superficiality of it, so he wasn't always congenial and gave a great first impression.. Troubled? Oh, yes, certainly as a creative genius. But he was adept at blending in to look normal and even keeled.

Since this broadcast James Dean's fatal auto accident has be re-reconstructed and it was determined that he was not speeding at the time Donald Turnupseed turned into his lane. Dean was ticketed earlier in the day, so people assumed he was still driving 70mph.
I hope that Joan Winslow lived long enough to learn her cousin was not at fault in his death.

    • @djangorheinhardt
      @djangorheinhardt Рік тому +1

No,I am sorry but I thought like you did, that Dean was blameless and died an innocent victim: then I bought Lee Raskin's book," on the road to Salinas "".Mr Raskin has done a very thorough forensic job of reproducing the relevant statements and testimonies from the official inquest .All the witnesses were called and all the evidence examined .I am afraid Jimmy does not come out of it very well. His driving just before the accident and at the accident shows the Jimmy was at least 50% to blame for the catastrophe. It is a very bitter pill to swallow to see that an unguarded moment by a driver cost the life a young actor ,just on the cusp of greatness, but that is what happened .You need to get Raskins book and you will see how the circumstances played out for all the people caught up in this sad event ..

He was the Brad Pitt of his day, in the looks and talent Dept, unbelievably good looking and had that certain look that is so mesmerising and heart stopping but because he died so ridiculously young and in his prime and didn’t have the chance to grow older and age and make mistakes in the way that age often does to people he will always be held up there on a pedestal. Fascinating man. Incredibly sad that he didn’t have that chance to enjoy his life and opportunities .

Most method actors who can turn into other people in a natural way like they are not acting are Bi-Polar. In person off screen they seem shy, defensive, and never reveal their true inner self out of fear they will be rejected. You have to ask a psychologist how bi-polar disorder develops or if perhaps some people are born that way. Searching for something they can never find. A rebel without a cause.

James Dean and Rudolph Valentino are the 2 male Hollywood stars that have become such towering pop icons that endure to this day- although it should be noted that Valentino has slipped further out of the spotlight in recent years. They were handsome, with very pretty almost feminine soft features that photographed well and looked great on big screen. They also had a charismatic sexual chemistry that had an amazing effect on both women and men. It is fascinating that Deans "look" has never seemed out of fashion- the T-Shirt and Jeans the hairstyle still are relevant to young men in 2023. He has a timeless quality. By modern standards the acting style is hammy and for my taste almost unwatchable.

The title of some video regarding this extraordinary man and supreme actor is absolutely correct "James Dean died in a misterious car crash". J.D. was murdered like Princess Diana also was. Both from different countries and different social status bur both were extremelly envied by many pople around them. Dean was very young, beautiful, talented and an exgtraordinary actor, he was envied by older actors with less talent and especially with neither high schol frequency nor college education like for example Rock Hudson who couldn't stand Dean and the reason was the one I just wrote, besides Hudson was hommosexual, Dean was not and this was one more reason to make Hudson furious. Diana was intelligent, beautiful and adored by the British people and by the entire world and that adoration made some royals not only disliking her but envied her immense popularity as well, Charles and the Queen being the first ones.
Turnupseed was hired to provoque the accident. Just to think he never spoke about it... why?!, he never gave a sole interview about the crash... why?!, he never spoke about the sorrow he (supposedly?...) must have had by Dean's death with only 24 years old... Why?! It is a shame before he died he did not leave a note describing what really happened and what was his real falt about the crash, this was one more black signal against his persona without necessity. We know T.'s car was enormous (proposedly big for what it was chosen to do) and strong enough compared to Dean's very small, very light and extremelly low. Yes, unfortunatly Dean was murdered by T. all right and he surely recieved thousands of dollars as payment. Diana was also murdered (Dodi's father - Dodi as her fiancé - has said a thousand times that Diana and his son were murdered) but by the Secret Service and no one needed to be payed for the crime because the S.S. works for the State and does whatever is required from them, even commiting a horrendous crime such as the one cited above.
    Thank you for the attention.

Buenas tardes o buenas noches.

Hard to focus on what these old men are saying with their obvious hair pieces and dyed hair.

The worst interview ever, with a historically salient panel. Larry King destroyed an opportunity here.

The most iconic star to have ever lived. Just like River Phoenix, Kurt Cobain, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn., Amy winehouse, among others. 🤍🕊 🤍🕊
