Great idea!! I have dehydrated the celery in the past and I prefer to freeze it. If I had a freeze dryer, that would be the route I would take for sure! Maybe one day.
I'm watching you as I send this you are a inspiration to me I Love watching you and you can do it ❤️ Love to you and spice ! Joann Spratlin Have a Blessed night
Great haul! You can pickle those cucumbers, can the carrots, dehydrate or freeze the celery, peppers, onions & can those beets...the buns can be made into bread crumbs or make a bread pudding, so much blessings
if the cucumbers are good make some tzatziki sauce with some f it ,its really good as a dip.i do that im diabetic and its no carb idem and no sugar .good with fish to.
I live in fl on the gulf coast. It's been 106. I have been skipping out on food giveaways. It's to hard in the head with 2 small kids. Qe have Been using what we have in our freezers
yes be careful with your dog , they can trip you , i know someone that got a fall with is dog tripping him i he brook a hip , and now he have a walker. yes in a couple there always one that visual and the others audio. I am visual.
I guess I'm a terrible person LOL but I'm not the one to encourage you to stand in that kind of heat and humidity I am your same age and I couldn't do it. I live where it gets very hot but it's a dry heat, humidity makes a big difference.😓
It really does! It increases the feel of the heat. I spent many summers in Nevada and that heat is way different that where I live. I did not feel that heat.
Wow! What a great bunch of produce you received today. I’m from Atlantic Canada and, of course, didn’t know that you could eat cactus. Have a blessed day, Suzie. So glad you made it in to the food pantry today
Can you put a clean wet washcloth into a zipper bag in your freezer, the night before your due to go to the food bank. The Day you go, grab the zipper bag out of the freezer and take with you to put around your neck
Can you cook the carrot ends for spice to eat? Our dog loves carrots! When you got to the third bag you cant see what you are doing. We don't get any fresh produce at the food pantry but we do get a $40 voucher for the grocery and can buy them with that.
I can not cook the carrot ends for Spice. He is on a very strict diet specially formulated for him and by prescription from the vet and prepared by Hills Diet for him. I have to have it shipped monthly to my door as it can not be bought in a store.
Thank you for your suggestion. I am a one woman show and sometimes I get it wrong. That is ok, I show my mistakes improve daily and move on. Be blessed!
I would put spice in a room with a closed door while you bring your groceries in so you wont have to worry about falling. We have the same issue with our 150 pound dog lol but we have a fenced in back yard so we put him out there. Like your fur baby he is nosey and wants to be in the middle of it!
@@justcallmesuzzie Oh your mistaken about what I said. I didn't think you were mad. I was concerned with him being underfoot while you brought in groceries. I know you always worry about going to the food bank when it is raining due to the chance of falling. I would assume having spice under foot while you bring groceries in is also a fall risk.
Oh how i wish i had those banana peels right now! They can be made into plant food for roses(& other plants) by cutting them up and soaking in water for a few days, use the water to feed a few plants and then put the peels around the bottom of rose bushes and other plants that benefit from them and completely cover them with soil. Ive been doing compost in place in my big pots and containers, and raised beds. I too, live in a mobile home park and are not allowed a big compost pile but i keep larger pots/ containers that I buy plants in and "plant" the container beside my plants in the larger pot and have the same size pot , i plant a flower in, to put on top, that can be lifted to put kitchen scraps in top off with some dirt so it doesnt get smelly, things like egg shells, coffee grinds, potato , carrot peels etc to feed those plants beside and the flower you put on top. I learned this from Robbie and Gary Gardening Easy on UA-cam, i e learned quite a lot from their channel! They live in Southern California, so closer to your zone than I am. I am in zone 6. SW Ohio 100 miles North of Cincinnati. But in a mobile home park , we're not allowed to plant in ground now, only raised beds, pots and containers,so i learned compost in place from them. I save a lot from going in the landfill& feedmy plants at the same time! It adds nutrients to the soil, and feeds the worms that help your plants and soil also! Hope this helps! Joline Crane P.S. My new pup Benji is still wearing me out! My friend told me about a water bottle,so if he's acting up he gets squirted and learns! Its working so far! Lol! He was using my arm as a chew stick!! Not puppy nibbles ,actual bites! And he was going on tangents ,running and growling and the squirt distacts him enough to"snap out of it!". I was at my wits end, ive never had a dog this young! Hes a baby and just learning right from wrong! I just need to have patience!(& ENERGY!! Lol! 63 y o with a 6 month old pup! Blessed from heartbreak losing my 10 year old MinPin in January, he gave me my laugh back! Every day!😊😅😂❤ Big hugs to you and Spice😊🤗🥰🙏
Wow, that is some haul!! You sure received a nice variety of goodies. So much to process and take care of. It can sure wear us out. I can relate. I'm sorry you had to deal with the heat/humidity to get the food haul. I know too well about the bathroom issue. I drink very little when I know I have to go out, and I get SO thirsty. It can really be a challange for us... SO thankful for freezers!!
Absolutely!! I was so blessed and had to work for it! It is not the work but the heat and humidity that beats you down so fast. I am slowly processing it daily so watch for upcoming videos on what I do with the produce.
I've only ever had nopales at a taqueria and they were pickled. Loved them! But I can imagine they are a pain, and look slimy when cooked. I'm not fond of okra either.....
You can also dehydrate the celery along with the cilantro. Stay blessed Suzzie!
Great idea!! I have dehydrated the celery in the past and I prefer to freeze it. If I had a freeze dryer, that would be the route I would take for sure! Maybe one day.
Thanks for sharing with us today!!
My pleasure!! Thank you for watching as that is my blessing!

Me too!! I am so going to make some one day and film it! LOL
Great haul! You can pickle those cucumbers, can the carrots, dehydrate or freeze the celery, peppers, onions & can those beets...the buns can be made into bread crumbs or make a bread pudding, so much blessings

Yes it was! I was so blessed!
Are you able to do a compost where you live. You have a lot of things you could compost and use later in your garden!
I can not compost here. It is not allowed or I would be doing it for sure.
@@justcallmesuzzie I was wondering because you said you could not have a clothesline.
Your blouse is lovely
Thank you so much! Thank you for blessing me with a watch!

What a great idea! Thank you!
I plan my trips into town based on my liquid intake in the morning and map out where we can stop if needed, so I get it
That is a wonderful idea but once I get into that line, I have to wait until it moves or leave and loose my spot. I have done both! LOL
Really, really nice haul. Do you take anyone to the food bank with you? I take a neighbor that does have a car.
No, everyone is working at that time. I go and then what I don't use is shared around the neighborhood.
make refrigerator pickles or can the cucumbers,
Awesome ideas! Thanks!
ive even seen some orential people cook cucumbers
in dishes like stir fries,
Great idea!
Good haul
Yes it was! I was so blessed!
I'm 72 and I have to make myself get up and go. I refuse to give up
Yes, it is a daily battle sometimes and we have to get ourselves moving.

Me too!! I am going to tackle it soon!
I live in fl on the gulf coast. It's been 106. I have been skipping out on food giveaways. It's to hard in the head with 2 small kids. Qe have Been using what we have in our freezers
Nice but if you are feeling the crunch of the economy please go to the food bank if necessary.

Thank you for stopping in! I love having you all in my home daily! It is eatable but you have to be ok with slimy food. LOL
Glad you made your haul today suzzie. And what a big haul it was😂
I got an idea from you, I’m putting water in my Kittens food because she won’t drink much water . Thank you 😮
You are so welcome!
