Just so you know generals can build watchtowers in your province that give you continued line of site. They cost 200 florins but if you put them on your borders you shouldn't be caught offguard by big enemy armies just turning up at one of your cities. Might not be too necessary now but you could put one near the border with England so you can check if they're planning to attack you. I also find them useful once the Mongols and Timurids start roaming around
Loving the campaign thus far, lots of excitement making it hard to turn away from the screen. My favorite series that you've done since the imperial roman campaign back on total war 2.
The absolute best compliment I am able to pay this campaign, is that I am subscribed to around 150 channels right now, but THIS is what I look forward to every week. Thanks Heir! :) Edit: YOU PRONOUNCED TOULOUSE CORRECTLY ZOMG!!!!! :DD
Also, cease hostilities only means not to do any aggressive moves for the duation of the mission. You dont need to make peace with them. You can wait four turns and then go back to exterminating your enemies. Also watchtowers are a great way of knowing whats coming for you. Getting generals with much dread can win you battles more easily than with high chivalry. And even though they cost more. Heavy Cavalry > Infantry. Anyway, fun series so far!
If this series goes well I would really love to see you play some Medieval II mods. Rage of the Dark Gods in particular, especially with the new Warhammer Total War that's been announced. Seems like a good way to get a grasp of what Warhammer Fantasy is and what the game could potentially be.
Heir a piece of advice, always keep a castle as one of starting settlements, this is so that when your other further out castles get attacked later in game you can still train the best troops without too much worry.
Like most cities in Europe, you're right to think that 'saying it the way it's spelled' is to be used with caution... but in this case it's just 'to lose'.
charli hardi I'm going to try that. I'm playing England and allied with Spain. I'll offer them minimum payment for maximum number of turns. Hopefully, that will delay them turning against me as I hear is likely to happen with most factions. This is my first campaign.
Shit, I just finished my own France Campaign and now i am going to start to play ETW as France. The Saga continues. I'll be very glad if you could make ETW France Campaign after M2TW France Campaign.
heir if you didnt know eventually when you get the event message The world is round(i think that's the name of it) you can actually sail to the Americas with the highest tier ships
Just FYI, Theologian's guild gains you favor with the Pope and lets you produce higher level priest from that city. Couple it with a cathedral or the highest level religious building you can build, then produce priests from that city - soon you'll be in control of the College of Cardinals and eventually the Papacy. Excommunication will cease to be a major threat, plus the higher level priest help with conversion if you ever fight outside of Europe or down in Spain.
I've really enjoyed this campaign so far Heir, especially since I haven't had the time to catch up with all your videos lately, exam revision and all. Still, I am able to sneak a bit of time in the mornings. Keep up the good work. Also, will you Stand with Rand, or are you Ready for Hilary in 2016?
Heir, I hope you see this. I clicked on this video and the like button also to support you, as you seem like one of the nicest most honest people on UA-cam. I didn't however do these things because I like your content. It really has gone stale over the past few months. I hope you can fix this. I wish you luck!
Why don't you just keep the units in groups on the battle map? As long as it isn't a hard group it won't affect anything plus the order should not screw up.
He did say that he had no idea why his mouse cursor disappeared when he recorded his Med2 campaign and Med2 online battles. So we have to deal with it then.
Btw - Try and use ur best Diplomats those who are better ( more experienced) is more likely to get deals off. The noob diplomats are like rubbish in a way - Hope this might help
Harry Colesell Haha, we have a stupid song about that in France : "Toulouse en Anglais ça veut dire perdre" (toulouse (to love) in english mean lose !")

Lop thanks glad you enjoy it :)
The moment you looked at the minimap and saw the other army reinforcing, I breathed a sigh of relief. Haha; it's come to that :)
I wish there was a mechanic where it would make soldiers more expensive to recruit when you never pay the ransom and you keep losing battles.
Hmmm interesting idea
Man that snake attack. If that snake bit the guy where I think it did that's a horrible way to go.

Good plan
Vive la France :-)
J'aime bien quand il prononce les villes française en anglais ^^
hmm my spy died............ What a loser
cease hostilities just means don't attack them until the quest is over, you can even defend your settlements from sieges etc
In those make peace missions from the Pope, you don't have to declare a ceasefire you just have to not attack them.
maaa-aahhh the frensh campaign has always been celebrated for its excellence...
Like most cities in Europe, you're right to think that 'saying it the way it's spelled' is to be used with caution... but in this case it's just 'to lose'.
Fitting for France.
Lol an odd circumstance indeed
Dear Heir,
One trick to avoid factions to suddenly turn on you is to pay tiny fees every months to them.
charli hardi I'm going to try that. I'm playing England and allied with Spain. I'll offer them minimum payment for maximum number of turns. Hopefully, that will delay them turning against me as I hear is likely to happen with most factions. This is my first campaign.

You deserve so many more likes/views your vids are dope :))
I am just glad people like yourself enjoy them. Thanks for watching!
Timbuktu is an earthquake paradise. I lost half of my army down there
Seems like a long march out there :)
heir if you didnt know eventually when you get the event message The world is round(i think that's the name of it) you can actually sail to the Americas with the highest tier ships
What really? Cool.
HeirofCarthage yep eventually the maps expands westward and you can fight native americans.

Excellent. Thanks for the info. This game is so much deeper than I am used to even on some of the newer TW titles.
heir if you left click on the troops that you can get once you upgrade your military building it will show you it's stats

+Barry Goldwater Why Hilary?
I hate her too, but who knows? xD
I really hope CA is considering Medieval 3 after WARHAMMER... They should at least consider it, especially if the fans want it
Heir watch the videos of the assassin when the assassin died the snake bit him and they are all different depending on targets
Heir, I hope you see this.
I clicked on this video and the like button also to support you, as you seem like one of the nicest most honest people on UA-cam.

***** Speak for yourself.
***** You're kidding.. right? He's playing like 4 simultaneous campaigns. This shit is awesome!
Hey heir, cool vid
Wow when Heir says he'll upload tomorrow he means exactly 12. Well at least in CA
Yea worked out that way :)
I need to play this again
This game is really fun.
That feeling when no agent spam.
Except inquisitors I guess but they aren't nearly as annoying as Shogun 2/Rome 2.
No not nearly as bad so far
Why don't you just keep the units in groups on the battle map? As long as it isn't a hard group it won't affect anything plus the order should not screw up.
can you plase enable your cursor so we can see it.
He did say that he had no idea why his mouse cursor disappeared when he recorded his Med2 campaign and Med2 online battles. So we have to deal with it then.
Heir you should try the Lotr Third Age Mod for Medieval Total War II
360p? put up your tents! Were waiting

Btw - Try and use ur best Diplomats those who are better ( more experienced) is more likely to get deals off. The noob diplomats are like rubbish in a way - Hope this might help
Good to know as well. Thanks.
The flaming shot increases your armor piercing damage but decreases your accuracy and reload time!!!!!
MarijnmeteenM agreement reached ;)
Cease hostilities means just don't attack, not make peace
what the crap is goin on?!?
You need to stop leaving your cities undefended because they can just walk in.
Toulouse is pronounced "too-loose"
No time Toulouse!
Lol perfect
Two-lose for Toulouse
Harry Colesell Haha, we have a stupid song about that in France : "Toulouse en Anglais ça veut dire perdre" (toulouse (to love) in english mean lose !")
