It’s looking great Jakob! The Diner would look nice in the far right corner (turned to the same direction as those already on the raised platform) in the longer term.
Thanks :-) Yeah, I think the Parisian Restaurant can be kinda difficult to fit with the other modulars because of its unique, european style. It's a beautiful building though!
Looks great Jakob! While I certainly think seeing the next raised section would be cool, I think changing it up with what sounds like a very unique possible building with the Ice planet stuff could be really neat!
You have inspired me to looking at going up with my city. I really am curious to see how you do the next raised section. Also intriguing on the ice planet theme. I think that would be an unique looking office building.
at some point knowing me I will come up with a suggestion or two. but anyways love seeing the progress of your lego city. mix of your own created from scratch stuff and sets.
I love the raised section in the back! It looks great! The tv store does look better with the tan bricks! Quick question. What is the recommended number of studs for between train track and the wall or LEGO buildings? Is it the the four that you said you were going to do?
Thanks! I have no idea about the recommendations 😄 the logoc I'm implementing here is that a half baseplate is 16x32 and a train track is 8 wide. If you want to place a track in the middle of 16, you'll end up with 4 on each side 😆
Looking absolutely great, doesn’t it seem like our LEGO city’s are always in temporary mode. Looking forward to see the second raised section. Keep up the great work
Good to see your city coming back. You could make the square road section into a town square like I have in my LEGO city - yours is actually the same size! Then you have lots of room for all the food stands etc that you have around there. And maybe base your office building on the Daily Bugle with some modifications to your theme. The office building for my LEGO city is nearly finished also. btw I don't think there's quite enough room for the train to get round the corner by that building?
I'm thinking I'll add a park or a square in the middle of those roads. The road layout will probably change as I get more of the permanent stuff done, so I'm not rushing into making that right now 😀 I believe you are right about the train. That row of buildings are just placed like that temporarily as I work out the other raised section that they are going on top of. So, good eye but no worries :-D My next update is on Monday and I'm working on that specific solution!
Great update!!!! Tan is much better indeed! Smart to make a higher level on the right to! I'm curious what building you are going to put in the corner!
Hi, just subscribed! I really like your city. Can you share the method you used for the raised section please, I want to do one and no idea on how to begin. Thanks!!!
Hey BN - thanks for your sub! If you go back a few videos you can find a video on how I made the raised section and how I prototyped it. Hope it helps :-)
Looking good! Probably much too late to suggest this, but then again I only thought of it myself: When your city is done, you’ll have a white background… why not paint it light blue, and have a lovely sky instead?
The reason I haven't done that is, that the walls require a special kind of paint when it's in a basement like this. And that particular type of paint didn't come in blue tones. The closest ones were still very green. So, I decided against it. But I definitely thought about it!
@@BrickBakery Aaah... that explains it, but that sucks... ok... how about large printed posters? Actually that way you would potentially swap them - have a lovely day, or a night time scene, or an alien invasion... anything really :D
@@MutantProductions I've thought about that solution too. The problem is that it's basement walls. They contain moisture and that needs to be able to vent. Covering the wall with fabric or paper would seal the moisture and probably lead to mould :-S
Would love to hear if there are any "rules" when building with LEGOS - like what is allowed to do to help build, glue, tape, third-party-pirate LEGO, and you're talking about using cut baseplates. Are there any "unwritten" rules for building, and do you have your own rules? 🙂
There's no rules, only guidelines 😄 Seriously though, I think most things are allowed at this point. Glue and other adhesive is generally frowned upon (I.e. don't use it). Cutting plates is a necessary evil as no table dimensions ever fit with the 25x25 CM dimensions of baseplates. And third-party stuff is rarely very popular because of the lower quality. But I've seen it been used from time to time. And plenty of third-party bricksellers contact people like me to do promotions for them!
Definitely attempt an office building 🏢. Ice 🧊 planet 🌏 was always my favourite vintage space theme. I’d like to see the 2 combined
I will - eventually 😌 It's a very very vague idea at this point! :-)
City is coming along very well. I'm looking forward to seeing the next 2 raised sections and what buildings will go there
Thanks - I can't wait to get started :-D
I really like the look of the city. The different levels are very nice. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next!
Thanks a bunch FB - I can't wait either 😀

New viewer here, your design for the facade of the raised section is amazing. Great work!
Thanks a lot NB - I really appreciate it! And welcome aboard!

Yeah, I was thinking something along those lines as well. The idea I have is very vague though so I may push it a bit still :-)

Thanks a lot - I really appreciate you saying this! :-) It'll be hard to decide what to start with 😃
Great update! Love seeing the progress!

Temporary may even be a good LEGO city name! :-D

Yeah, tan was a great suggestion. I'm wondering if that Ice Planet office building would fit in that corner?!
@@BrickBakery interesting! Curious to see how that looks! Enjoy building!!!

Is the BrickTubers Network dead? Nothing much on the website linked to.
I'm afraid it's quite dead at the moment unfortunately. Sorry for the inconvenience!
