    Thanks for the video
Best connection from Ljubljana to Trieste is Eurocity in the afternoon, without any change of trains
And yes, Trieste is great, located directly at the waterfront, and still having a touch from the austro-hungarian empire

I remember traveling by train from Belgrade to Trieste to do shopping quite often; it was back during the '70s. Tens of thousands of people every day were crossing into Italy to shop. In my old passport I had stamps from "Villa Opicina". You wear the 'throwaway clothes' on your way to Trieste that makes travelers resemble the scene from "La Miserable". You put on your new clothes immediately and discard the bag with your old clothes in the near by park; there was a designated place and city sanitary services were hauling away trash throughout the day. At the border the Yugoslav customs were charging import duties on everything you are carrying in your hands - but not on what you were wearing! Some 'black marketeers' put on several pairs of LEVIS jeans over one-another concealed - some do get caught. Those were the fun times!

    Beautiful and impressive indeed.
I guess train operators in Italy have heavily invested in stock and I hear train travel in Italy is not as killing as in Europe, fare wise.
Don’t know if I missed it, how much is the distance and time between the two.
    Thank you 👍👍

The distance seems to be approx. 260km. Time depends on the length of the break in Trieste - shortest is 5.5 hours.

There's a new High speed rail from Milan -- Ljubljana, starting in July 2024. Sadly i thought it would take off from Venice. (I read the Venice station is still years away, like in 2030) Can you make a vid about that? Its from Trenitalia.

@@1391mad I took the 5:49 connection from Ljubljana. I can still see it in the search results on OBB and Trenitalia. But some other search engines don't show it for some reason...

Thank you for you comment. I am not aware of such website, I use just a map for planning and then research further. I write prices in the subtitles, when it is a fixed price or one difficult to find. On many routes, ticket prices are changing as they are selling out, so there is often no sense of writing them down.

@@Europe-By-Train it was scheduled to enter service on 1.4.2024 and later postopned to july 2024, and then cancelled! The word is that it is due absence of ERTMS system between Verd and Ljubljana in Slovenia (as there are currently major works on this stretch)
