I must have been about 5 years old when I first heard this come on the radio. I remember a lot of the old standards from the fifties because my mother would dance around the house while doing house work when one she liked came on the radio. She also had this one on a record album. Nice choice for the New Year! Hope you had a great New Year's Eve!
I think the reason these songs give you Christmas vibes is because most of the Christmas songs we sing were written after World War II into the 50s, so they would've been written in the styles of the time.
Everything was live in those days. You can feel what's missing in today's music. It's neither better or worse, it's just the way of things then. It was a time that has come and gone.
Angela- I think you are doing. fantastic job with your song reactions. I would love for you to react to the song”Pieces of Dreams” by Johnny Mathis. The Live version from the Tonight show.He was Barbra Streisand’s favorite singe R when she was younger. She has said of him:”Tgere are good singers ;there are a handful of truly great singers; and then there is Johnny Mathis”. He is the third best- selling recording artist of the past century behind Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley This is a phenomenal performance by Johnny. Must See!! It is absolutely spectacular . I am sure you will enjoy it and be floored by it. Please react to it. Hereceived two standing ovations that particular night!!
Great stuff. These guys had it going on! Also of that time; The Ink Spots with,,, I DON'T WANT TO SET THE WORLD ON FIRE 🔥 and The Platters, ONLY YOU ❣️ with stellar freaking vocals. I will link! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎🎸🤟🏼 ua-cam.com/video/rAUJSc6unAg/v-deo.htmlsi=nAq0h8tBbQM9sdg4
