I learned kathak, The north Indian dance in India last year. I lived in India three years . The dance i learned is with out no doubt motherdance of Flamenca. My father is of rom descent and I am a full time, nomadic, i read tarot for a living, danceteacher and always dressed up in north Indian style. Guess its in The blood.

Yes some Influence came with persian and Muslim invasion from 10th century to 18th century but the dance form was already so much rich and developed before they came. They just added some influences, majority of the dance form is still Indian.
Only the kathak dance form has Western influence other than that no dance form from India has any influence. There are 7 classical dance forms in India.

What you are referring to as 'Northern India" is actually present day Pakitstan (The Indus Valley). You can find these people in almost all parts of Pakistan. A couple of them work at our house. I have seen a lot of videos regarding the history of the region and for some strange reason the work 'Pakistan' is intentionally replaced with 'India'. Historical India is present day Pakistan and the present day India has nothing to do with the real Inida (the Indus Valley).
I'm really surprised that the migration of Roma people are not only included Brazil as an important place, but one of the most important! My country is as vast in ethinic groups as in religion ideologies. I knew Jurema, Yoruba candomblé, Umbanda, catholicism, protestantism, buddhism, xinstoism and Rastafari as a part of cultural origins, and immigration resulted origins, but i didn't knew Romani was one of them.

I have nothing in my family, history, or any stories that have been handed down to tell me that I originate from the Roma. However, I have a blood type B- and that is found most predominantly in northern India and is extremely rare with only 2% of the world population having this blood type. Also, my natural traits are that of a gypsy I have lived in eight different countries, and I cannot stay in one place too long.
