- Hi! My name is Abhinav and I am a UK based, Indian, documentary filmmaker. In the last 5 years I have travelled to different nations to meet and spend time with Romani people. A lot of people doubt that they are originally from India but there are lots of historical evidence that proves it.
Ever since I first met them in Ukraine I have fallen in love with their community spirit. After producing a few documentaries about them in Ukraine, Bulgaria and Romania, I recently went to Sweden to meet a Roma family. In this film, you will learn how the Romanis were treated when they first landed in Sweden in the 1500s and how their life has been so far in Scandinavia. You will also learn how along with the jews, Romani people were executed by the Nazis.
Hope you enjoy watching it. Also, if you would like to support my future travels so I can tell more stories become a patron today.

Hi! My name is Abhinav and I am a UK based Indian filmmaker. In 2018, whilst doing a documentary production in Ukraine I came across the Roma people for the very first time. At first, they thought I was a Romani too but they soon realised that I was from India but we immediately had a connection the moment we met. I fell in love with the Romanis that day and later found out about their connection with India.
Over the last 5 years, I have travelled to various European countries and spent time with them. After producing the first video about their existence I understood the need of giving them a voice by using my gift of telling stories through filmmaking.
Roma people have faced persecution ever since they first arrived in Europe and it continues. Although, the persecution isn't as harsh as it used to be hundreds of years ago but they still suffer. I want to travel, meet these people, encourage them and tell their stories. If you would like to support my vision then you're most welcome to join my Patreon and donate monthly. It will allow me to get to the most remote places and bring forth stories that need to be brought to light. Thank you :)

I think you need to tell both sides of the story. Romani are not victimized on the basis of their identity. Their actions have often caused them to get into trouble with authorities. Romani kids were adopted only from abusive families just like with Aborigines and American Indians. I wish for the Romani to embrace their Indian heritage and move to India because frankly we have trouble dealing with them, and we shouldn't have to, but the oppression myths are really tired.
@@catphuckers I am Anglo Romani living in Australia, I agree somewhat with what you are saying about victim mentality. And yes there are two sides to a story, but there is also more to any story. There are a lot of similarities in regards to social problems with the Rom in Europe And Aboriginal people here in Australia. I live in a town that basically has out of control Aboriginal youth crime. I have been robed assaulted and threatened on several occasions. But I still have respect for the aboriginal community due to the ones I know that don't do that and are trying to fix what is wrong.
Blaming white man for everything is not fair. And the same goes for usually left wing soft hands and welfare guilt policies. Change only works on a grass roots level.
There is also a large number of Romani in Australia, I have never heard them mentioned in regards to any crime or public nuisance. I understand your anger if my cousins have caused you trouble, but Rom have been in Europe a long time and are part of its makeup and history. I am not going back to Europe and they don't have to go back to India.
@@raclark2730 I appreciate your reply. I'm aware that Roma who have been in Northwestern Europe for the past few centuries (and whom have a ton more White admixture, this being relevant to their behavior in my opinion) are of a totally different temperament than Balkan Roma and are much more adept and upright. This, I should have clarified. Since the people are not quite as monolithic as others, it would be unfair to treat them as such.
I hate to say it, but I cannot observe Balkan Roma and come to any conclusion other than "These people have to go". The worst part of this all is the more intellectually inclined whiter Roma, Jud Nirenberg and Ian Hancock being good examples of this, are no criminals, but they insist that Europe tolerates the dregs of their people and for European taxpayer money to be pumped into Romani communities in the Balkans where inhabitants have been dead set on not working for hundreds of years. The Roma from NWE, with the help of antiwhite socialites, have built countless NGOs which are focused on the aim of subsidizing lower-caste Roma birthrates and defending Roma criminals from prosecution.
I'm a believer in race as a biological reality and determinant of behavior and intelligence, and I just do not see a way forward unless the West's racial and demographic policy is completely overhauled to be unapologetically pro-White. This doesn't necessitate the victimization of the entire Roma people, but we will definitely have to repatriate large groups of people, especially ones that are criminally inclined, unproductive, and whom pose a demographic threat. If people consider this to be too harsh, I don't really care because I see it as an issue which is not of immediate urgency but will remain an everincreasing problem for Europe if unsolved.
A good first step we can hopefully agree on if repatriation is too much is for the subsidies to end. Roma should not get a paycheck just for being Roma, especially if they do not work or have a criminal record. If the least capable of a people have the resources and drive to reproduce beyond that of the most capable, this creates a dysgenic effect and lowers the overall aptitude of a people. European law currently disagrees with me on this, but I think it's good hygiene which should be practiced everywhere.
@@catphuckers You speak your mind sir that's getting to be a rare thing these days.
I have suspected that the same over compensation and " positive discrimination" as they say was happening in Europe also. I am dead against that also. Its not helpful to anyone and just makes some people look like they are helping. And on immigration matters, though I am from a immigrant family myself, what is happening in so many countries is an uncontrolled mess.

Apart from Sushma Swaraj, Roma people have never been admitted to India, the Jewish community has forced the world to take notice because of its education and economic well-being, but it is sad that India and Indians do not take notice of their own blood Roma people.
Thank you Abhinav you are really trying to give justice to these people 🙏🙏🙏🌹

Please help me share it with as many people as possible. I would like every Indian to know about our dear Roma brothers and sisters. Thank you ❤️🙏🏽
@@abhinavinsearchofthelost I have seen original Roma people in India 30 years ago. They come from the Lohar caste, iron Smith caste. In the Indian society they are a lower caste and can live free as nomads. Not very respected because from a lower cast. In Europe they got similar problems. But in Europe it's about settlement and give a school education to children and many Romas did not accept social housing and permanent residence. So there children could not attend school.
@@reginaneulandner8321 They are not originally "nomads" or from any particular caste. They were taken as slaves, during various invasions of India. There are many accounts from Indian history of huge amounts of Indians taken as slaves and then sold in the markets of Baghdad and other cities. This happened after the Arab conquest of Iran, which was then used as a base for incursions into India. Consequently, they were likely sold into kingdoms of Europe. Later on, they gained freedom, but were not given rights.

Romas were hindus captured in grater India and sold in Bagdad markets and turkey markets by muslims, purchased by Europeans for work.
They were converted by force or for material consideration. Indian Govt . should be bold enough to acknowledge the same. Very few people know about them backhome.
PRAVINVEER If you are correct then the culture you hold responsible is now in Pakistan and Bangladesh. The relatively few Hindus who eventually fled the muslims and became Roma then were not enslaved but escaped. If they were enslaved they would not be able to escape. How Europeans bought slaves in India at that early time in history has got me baffled somewhat.
Right. This happened after the Arab conquest of Iran. Then invasions into India, led to innumerable people being abducted into slavery. Some of the most brave people who opposed the invasions, were the first to be taken into slavery. This needs to come out! Indian media needs to start talking about this regularly.
@@loisstenner123 There was a slave trade that abducted Indians and some others and sold them into Arabia, northern Africa and Europe. This happened after the Arab conquest of Iran. Although other ethnic groups were also enslaved, Indians appear to be the most populous group.

@@abhijeetkumar2204 You're wrong. As a proud White man who is historically literate, the Abrahamic blood cult of Yeshua did a number on our heritage and morality. I am very proud of my European roots and I feel as if we have done very few truly wrong things throughout history (for example I don't buy the Romani atrocity propaganda for even a second), but breathing life into the Jewish supremacist cult known as Christianity and spreading it to other lands is something my ancestors did and I hope we can undo these mistakes someday. One day Christianity and Islam will be tossed into the trash heap of history and our collective dignity can be restored.
@@versus1156 Well not really. Our treatment of Roma was not on the basis of their race, rather their habitual criminal offenses. We removed Romani children from abusive families and protected our own from criminal gangs who prey on us and this is the thanks we get? I think the Romani should return to India and make ghar wapsi. You guys can have them back. It was a very traumatic time, but you must tell your story and let Indians know who you are. I am sorry that Indian media has not done enough to show your plight, but we hope to change that very soon. You are a part of the Indian diaspora and must be respected as such!
First of all, much gratitude to Abhinav for working on this issue and bringing it the attention that it deserves. This was long overdue. I know that every Indian watching these videos, myself included, feels that they are one of us and we want to see them live well and have equal opportunities and a safe, secure life.
To Diana and all other Roma, I would like to say that India is a very warm and welcoming place should you choose to come here. You shouldn't worry too much about the cultural and language differences, we have so much diversity that it makes us very accepting of all people.
A special thanks to Markus too for his support and understanding. I hope I spelled his name right.
Historically I would like to point out two events:
One is the Parsi migration to India around 600 AD due to the Muslim conquest of Persia (modern-day Iran). Today more than fifty thousand Parsis consider India home and many of them have contributed immensely to the development of India, the most famous of them being the TATA group.
The second is the influx of Tibetan refugees who fled from Tibet along with The Dalai Lama, their spiritual leader, to escape Chinese rule; Today there are about two hundred thousand Tibetans living peacefully in India. All this proves beyond doubt that India is a very unique and accepting place. We believe that the whole world is our family ( Vasudaivam Kutumbakam).
Coming back to the Roma population, it appears that what they need most today is to form an organization across Europe so that their voice can be heard and they are able to seek some sort of support and recognition.
Much love from India, we all pray that your lives and destiny change for the better very, very soon.

Thank you so much :)
Hey abhinav...Its great to see how you are showing such a great content of undiscovered world of roma. I hope to see more content of roma/indian people through your camera lens in future. So buddy just keep going.
Thank you Abhinav doing great work...loved your efforts...keep it up
Abhinav you are doing a great job! God bless you
Keep hustling love your sister ❤️🇮🇳♾️
Romanis have IP rights on India. Let's India be stronger and powerful enough I believe $10 trillion economy to atleast make some effort towards Romani people. We can exchange 7-8 Crore Indian Muslim population to Pakistan with 5-6 Crore romanis from West and Europe. As Pakistan is made by west, the deal seems quite great
Don't blame the West and Europe for Gandhi's foolishness. We have serious faults and responsibilities, but P*kistan is not one of them. And yes, take the Romani people in. India will be a great place for them since they cannot get along in the West, though if you are blonde-haired and blue-eyed in India there is a high change you will at least be groped. Western tourists have filmed themselves showing it is unsafe to walk down the streets while White. I hope Diana returns to India because Romani are not part of Europe, but at the same time I fear for her safety.
Abhinav you are a gem!! Thanks that i came to know about our long lost brothers and sisters.. My heart goes to all Roma people...All Roma people are all welcome to come back to your old India... It feels so sad to see them being persecutes and hated every where... They were forced to leave india due to Muslim invaders and their fight for survival still goes on...
thank you so much, brother ❤
Imagine when they learn about the greatness of their ancestor's contribution to humankind.
Yes, sadly the slavery and persecution really set them back
Yes we survived so i thank them for that. I am swedish romani allso.
Indian government should do something for Roma people's betterment. They are our brother. Indian government should offer Indian citizenship if they wish. They are not in good condition.
Yes, please keep sharing this video so it reaches the right people in authority! Thank you :)
I’m sure many Romas would love to have Indian citizenship! I would! Many Romas I speak to online feel connected to india, especially younger generations from Balkans. They are even closer linguistically to Hindi than my Romani is. And I think all of us at least wants to visit india and discover our roots.
@@Donan95 Hey Diana Love from Delhi, India. Whenever in the future you decide to visit India, please visit Delhi too I will be very happy to show you around my beautiful city Delhi and one last thing, you are way too beautiful Diana.
India is not a rich country, but I am sure they are always trying to do their best for everyone.
Wow, you just have changed my perspective about Scandinavian countries. I will never think about Sweden the same way as I did.
Abhinav, please continue your work. Only because of your video, I came to know about the Roma people and interest grew to learn more about them.
Dear Abhinav, I strongly suggest that you also visit some Sinte (Sinti) people. Most of them live in Germany, Eastern France, Austria, Northern Italy and parts of Slovenia and Croatia. They consider themselves a separate branch of the Roma people and their language is a separate Indian-derived one, nowadays strongly influenced by German. Apparently, their ancestors’ migration route is different too and began in Sindh. A famous Sinto is the “Gypsy Jazz” founder Django Reinhardt. I grew up in Hamburg where there are both sizable Roma and Sinte communities, Sinte particularly in the part of town called Wilhelmsburg where there is the famous Reinhardt and Weiss clan that now has a notable jazz music enterprise. If you haven’t already done so, please consider looking into it.
Thank you so much. I filmed with a Sinti brother in Germany a few weeks ago. The story will be out soon :)
This video was amazing i really enjoyed it. Everyday I pray that God protects them and blesses them. My heart goes out to them, i would love to see more videos like this.
Thank you so much! Many more coming ❤️
Great initiative by Mr Avinash. Keep it up. Love u Roma brothers and sisters.
Great job Abhinav, thank you for bringing these amazing stories to us! Heard of Roma people being of Indian heritage, never heard of their true story. Quite enlightening to know of these resilient people, who kept their culture through centuries of persecution and social vilification.

This is so sad. I wish racism would completely end. Europe and the Middle East MUST establish policies to protect the Roma people and allow for equal rights. It's disgusting to see that even today there is very minimal progress in 1200 years since Romas first left india 🙁.
Gypsies need to adjust. Europe is fine.
Thanks for bringing this topic to light, brother!

EMOTIONAL BUT VERY INSPIRING
Indian government do something for roma people
They are not Indian, they're european. Indian government should think about Indians

As a swedish rom, I’ve had a similar experience
I felt the same way my whole early life because my biological father is 100% Roma and my mother is a blonde haired, blue eyed Irish/German woman and her whole side of the family shares the same looks. I have never felt like I belonged in my family as I have dark olive skin and brown eyes with dark brown hair
You are loved and welcome i don’t look swedish or indian 😂
Please study some thing about Indian culture. Here after you wont feel low for your self. Feel good for you.

Bahut badia kaam. Ise dekhkar documentary ki nahi balki interview ki feeling aa rahi hai. Documentary ki quality AKTK channel ki 'Silence Of Swastika' ko kehte hain.
I feel sad for our Roma brothers and sisters 😢 no community should be persecuted 😢 We are working for declaring Bharat as natural Homeland for all our Sanatani brothers and sisters be it Roma or Doma people❤
Be proud to be Roma and be proud of your root India. Love and know the culture and heritage
My great aunt is Swedish and passed away in the 1990's. She was in her 90's born in 1890. Her parents on both sides were from Sweden her Dad immigrated from Sweden with his brother from the island of Oland. Her mother immigrated from Sweden with her parents and moved to Minnesota than also came out West and she married her husband a Swede, 10 years older. They had 10 children and farmed 800 acres. She wrote a book about a Swedish Pioneer Family, and she would tell us children, that gypsies moved into Sweden in the 1500's or around there, and would steal gold buried by the Vikings and our ancestors. That's why so many Swedes had dark hair. I don't know if any of this is true but she believed it.
Someday I shall meet our blood brothers and sisters, the "Roma" people ❤
My ancestors left India 200 years and we are now a new race having mixed with Africans and Europeans. It is very sad what happened to the Romani people in Europe.
This is an amazing video Abhi. It’s 02:36am and i’m watching your content with a weird mix of emotions.
My grandpa was a blacksmith, a horseshoer. I grew up within the Turkish Roma community. Locally we call them “Aga”. I’ve always loved them. But as a grown up, I’ve been concerned about their place in the society, both in my country and others. We owe them so much. Not only because of what they gave to us but also what we have taken from them.
Roma people are rather happier in Turkiye, comparing to many countries and they are pretty much integrated, excepted and loved. Mostly. As you go west, the picture is getting darker and darker. Such a shame.
We owe them. We all owe them.

Love the stuff you make brother thanks for showing the truth ❤
I feel the issue of hiding my identity. It was only in my 40s that I totally accepted my Romani heritage. Why I didn't accept it while my Gran was alive and living the lifestyle in a trailer is the biggest regret of my life. Don't let anybody dictate who you are
I have the same experience, my mom was Romani and was trying to keep the culture alive, but it's been so supressed that no one feels proud enough of it to keep it alive so it's almost entirely dead in my family. I wish I'd talked to my mom more about it while she was till alive, I could've learned so much. At first I was in denial, being a "gypsy" was the lowest thing I could imagine, but I've come to accept it for what it is.
I have always been fascinated by Romani people from childhood, their music, dressing and detached simplistic lifestyle. I was so excited when I eventually met some of them in Constanta, Romania.
I admire their resilience.
God bless the Roma race.
Love from Ughelli, Delta state, Nigeria.

Yes, I will a few Romas to India soon brother :)
Sending much love and respect to the Roma people from Windsor, ON, Canada.
