- In this third instalment of the kill all teenagers show, we have a ROLLERCOASTER of an adventure lined up as several more innocents are thrust into a daring cat and mouse predicament.
Will they defeat death? probably not but as long as it's funny, who cares!

Imagine if one of the pictures was just a guy getting mauled by wolves, and they're all like, "What could this mean?" and then cut to someone at the zoo. But then they get crushed by a truck with a wolf on the side. These could be amazing R rated dark comedies with just a little tweak.

Then you have the idea of, Andrew Garfield (president of US in the 1800s) getting shot but surviving only to be killed by infection cause the doctors couldn't be fucked to wash their utensils. Not only has death got the stupid victims helping him, but everyone else's stupidity as well.
I almost died on a rollercoaster once because all the stuff that was meant to keep me from falling out just decided to fall out itself.
I spent the whole time holding on for my dear life thinking that I'll die like in Final Destination 3.

Honestly we need a Final destination movie where you can see Death messing with everything to cause how the people die, in different outfits fitting to the location Overtop his cloak, crossing off named on a list, eating popcorn in the background while people are talking, taking notes while people are theorizing on how they die, and celebrating when his plans go off.
I just want him to be in 80s workout gear in the gym scene with headphones setting up the swords and bear lifting little weights because he doesn't have muscles and it's a fun groovy montage...
Death should be pointing at stuff with a laser pointer and getting all the measurements right. "That'll crash into this... this is gonna crash into that..."
That would make an amazing parody/horror, Cabin in the Woods style

I think this is where the franchise goes into SAW territory, as in there are creative deaths that you remember but you can't remember which movie it is because all the films feel the same at this point.

I don't know. I think you can at least tell which death can from which movie since the effects vary in quality between movies. Like if a Final Destination death has unbelievably terrible CGI with stuff obnoxiously flying at the camera then you know it's the 4th film.
The Saw films, on the other hand are pretty much interchangeable for the most part when it comes to the violence. The effects are pretty consistent throughout that franchise.

It's not SAW levels but at this point, it's getting to new movie means more deaths and these deaths are just kind of there and the more ways to die there are, the easier it is to get confused which movie it came from.
Only for the third and fourth ones, the fifth one is actually pretty good (the FD movies I mean).
A couple of my buddies and myself once waited in life for like 30 minutes to go on a Rollercoaster…. When we finally got on, we were immediately pulled off cause there was mechanical issues.
My one buddy asked the conductor what happened and he said a bolt was missing.
Immediately everyone in our group brought up Final Destination 3 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

So a little info about why this one feels different. This one started production as a spin-off movie to try new things and change things up. It was during the test screening that New Line Studios stepped in to change things like A: A shorter runtime which resulted in alot of cut stuff. B: A new ending to be added, the original ending was that white fade before the 5 month later scene and the 5 month later scene was shot after these orders from New Line. C: Because New Line was affraid of confusing the fanbase, they made the call to just make/call it Final Destination 3. And D: no more reshooting to make the stuff after all the cutting flow better as the movie had already gone over budget at that point.
Honestly, probably for the best.

For me its because they didn't deserve it or at least the most brutal kill in the franchise. In most of the movies the people who die are usually either an ass or plain evil so that when they do bite the dust you don't feel as bad. With the girls they were really nice, but its one of those universal movie tropes where the hot chicks who show any kind of sex appeal die the hardest to punish them for being hot or skank.

People say the movie punished them for being “skanks” or whatever, but I genuinely don’t know by whose set of values they’d actually qualify. If anything, I’d imagine they’re getting punished simply for using tanning beds, since those are controversial to begin with (and that’s assuming these deaths are actually supposed to be _saying_ anything, which I kinda doubt; I think it’s just mindless torture porn).

I think the idea is they're pretty and skimpy, and they die horribly to something that's supposed to make them prettier, the irony. I'm not a fan of the trope of pretty girl dies like a dog because she's hot, which I think this movie treated them as. I don't think it has a lot to do with the tanning bed more so the irony of it.
The kill itself was fine, but the thought put into the characters and story around it was lazy like this and the next entry.
Especially when the assholes who deserve it get quick deaths, with only the emo seeing it for a second or two before dying.

I just want to point out that I also had the DVD "Choose your on adventure" gimmick for this movie and if I remember correctly; you can actually choose whether or not Frankie, "The Perv Character", can live or die. Spoilers, he lives in the alternate version and is taken into custody for harrassment.
I just find it kind of funny that the movie gives you an option to save the pervert's life (albeit he goes to jail), but not the two nice girls who were burned alive. XD Kinda Fucked Movie!

I had the "chose your adventure" dvd too; I got an alternate scene of the tanning bed girls. One of them moved the shelf and got out and tried to get her friend out but they both got electrocuted. Them getting electrocuted is probably better than them getting burned alive.

I went on a date with a girl once and we were talking about how much we liked horror and I brought up how hard I laughed at the tanning bed scene and she said it was the only scene that scared her because "it could actually happen."
There was no second date.
Oh gosh that was the scene that pissed me off the most, I used to work at a tanning bed place.
It is literally impossible for those girls to die that way. No amount of fiddling around with those machines can change it is impossible for them to ever get that hot. They are not designed to EVER be able to reach that temperature, not even close.
It could never actually happen, glad you never went on a second date with someone so clueless.
The worst part is the scene originally was going to have them die a different way. While very convoluted, basically it would end with the girls getting electrocuted from the tanning beds due to convenient 4D chess from Death. Ridiculous? Absolutely. But getting electrocuted in a convoluted freak accident is far more likely than the impossible of being cooked alive by tanning beds that physically cannot ever reach those temperatures.

FD 1: Lead guy and girl go around trying hard to save friends and watch them die and lead guy is deeper and deeper into being a suspect. Its a risk and some amount of stakes.
FD2: Lead girl manages to survive but is fu*ked in the head by the end and...kinda does the sane thing by committing herself to a padded cell in an asylum.
FD3: Mary Elizabeth Winstead is a cute plain jane. Look, she's crying. Aww! You spent half the movie looking at pictures and pointing at things around you from the pictures while standing there as people got killed. And half of the reactions to heads being crushed and such, isn't even realistic. They don't even spend time on her processing the deaths as they happen. Only once after the roller coaster disaster.
"You Watch Them Die: The Movie" actually sounds like a plausible 2000's self-aware movie title.

There is a Russian movie "Photo for memory". They found a polaroid that shoots you and prints the pictire of your death, so they panic and accidentally die exactly like on the picture. It's terrible, but it may be inspired from this movie.
That is pretty old trope actually, pretty sure it is in the original Omen (which is what, 1980s?). Also something similar is used in The Ring, at least the american one, to the point of beign parodied by Scary Movie 3. Most of them are polaroid photos though, I guess it is easier to imagine when photos are scarce and can easily get fucked up if you develop them wrong.
That’s actually from an old episode of the Twilight Zone… for all I know, there might even be older versions of that story

Well, technically that Russian movie had a twist for the camera - you didn't die UNTIL your photo was taken. So in essence, the camera CREATED a moment of death where none existed before. I also believe the camera had a backstory to it - a demonstration of its capabilities that kinda killed its creator, if I remember correctly. Plus there was both a plot twist in who one of the young people were and how the movie ended with all those policemen.

Rewatching these movies reminds me of a 2002 movie called Ghost Ship. These deaths never really stuck to me or were that scary but the opening scene from GS really left such an impact in my young child brain that I still get reminded of it occasionally today.

The electrical next to water reminds me of a video I saw of a guy putting an outlet right next to his toilet so he could power "butt washer"(not sure of the spelling of the proper name). Not only did he put it right next to the toilet, he put it right next to the water shutoff valve for the toilet, because those never leak, right.

Maybe it's just the modern Era where the premonitions become more avoidable. Before you would get a premonition of something and have no way of avoiding it because it would be like "the ship you are on is going to sink" but because the premonition happens just before the event your weeks long trip would be part way through and you'd have no way to avoid it.

57:09. The idea I always got from the movie was that whatever was in the background when the photo was taken would be the way a character dies. So if you took a photo elsewhere, the manner of death of the character dying would change. The devil statue at the amusement park also gave the impression that the entire theme park was more or less "unholy ground", and that the kids were kinda "cursed" in a way. :/

What if all the people who get premonitions are Junior Deaths who don't know what they are and they interrupt their own transition into reapers? And from that point on the rest of the movie is their powers working against them? It would at least explain why nobody they try to save dies until they show up.
The photographs predicting deaths is directly ripped straight off from The Omen, where character deaths are foreshadowed by lines going through the characters' photos, indicating how they'll die.
The Goth guy has the same vibe as “Take their wheels and leave them.”

I think the best revisit of this series would be for 1 person to be outrunning multiple versions of death. And the big reveal is the one being hunted IS death and the hunters are revealed to be the main characters from the previous movies. The real Final Destination was all the dead friends they made along the way.
I bet the guys and gals are thrilled for Final Destination 6.
Final Destination 3 is my favourite. I loved the atmosphere the Beattles song created and the kills on a spectacle level.

The later canon is that Death is literally just fucking with them for his own amusement. That's why Death lets them see his plans and sometimes seems to break the "rules", because there aren't any actual rules to it. He's just letting the humans think there are rules to give them hope before he kills them. But sometimes the humans will do something to annoy him or for some other reason he'll just strike them down out of turn.

The pigeon scene from 2 is just death fucking with them. "It's the pigeons" *chases pigeons to get crushed by glass*.
That whole rollercoaster sequence was so wacky that I couldn't help but imagine the song at the end of "National Lampoon's Vacation" as it was playing out (Lindsey Buckingham's "Dancin' Across the USA"), where the Griswolds, police and SWAT team are all riding on the rollercoaster together...I don't know, it just fits. XD (Kind of like the Yakety Sax/Benny Hill theme at the end)
