Well done. I like your chill cruiser style ride as I am doing this ride in Oct for 1st time on my Victory XC.
Thank you so very much! I hope you get to enjoy the ride and visit this location. Hopefully I'll be able to go back again soon. I appreciate your time!
Thanks for taking us along for the ride and what a beautiful road to ride on. I've never been there but it looks like fun. You guys are keeping those Roadglides looking good. 👍
Thank you very much for that. It was a ton of fun for the weekend. Thank you for watching!
I live in the Tri-cities area of northeastern Tennessee. Those rides are just a bit northeast of me, and I love riding up there! You must ride the Moonshiner and don't forget the "Widow Maker" on Hayter's Gap Road. That's pure insanity!! Also, if you ride the "Hungry Mother," it actually incorporates both the BOTD and the Widow Maker. Also included in that Hungry Mother ride is The Snake! I have ridden that one a number of times as well. Great riding everywhere in this part of the country!! Thanks for sharing your ride!!
Also, I totally agree with you about the Fail of the Dragon versus other rides. I enjoyed pert near every other ride much more for the reasons you stated. Fail of the Dragon is the result of good advertising. It's certainly FAR from the top of enjoyable rides in this region. Fun, sure, but it's not all that and a bag of chips in my book. Ride safe, ride well, and ride often!
Wow! Thank you so much for those recommendations. Some of them I have not been on, but I will take a look and at them to my list. Thank you so much for watching and I appreciate your time very much!
I've ridden down from Pennsylvania to ride the BOTD several times on my ST1300. I absolutely love that road!
Yeah man. I really want to go back this year and hopefully I can make that happen. Thank you so much for watching and I appreciate your time today!
Great video, looks amazing
Much appreciated sir. It was a great weekend of riding.
Nice video! Takes me back... to July. I gotta find my way down there when it's dry - it looked like you got the clouds, but not the heavy rains this time!
We hit a bit of rain but it wasn't too bad. I've never ever been to Tazewell without getting rained on. It's crazy!
Thanks for the Ride Along.. You can Wander around That Area and Still Find Roads some of Us Haven't Ridden.
No doubt! It is so beautiful over there. I love it. Thank you very much for watching!
Great to see that NH sticker. Riding season is coming close to an end here in NH. Not finished yet but can feel the end coming up. There's been so many rainy days, it feels like there was no riding season at all. Good bye 2023.
That stinks man. Sorry you guys have such a short riding season. I appreciate your time today!
It's q very nice ride, I'm about 20 miles away. I've rode all parts of the dragon. I like the tail of the dragon but like the scenery of the back of the dragon. Next time, go through the underpass and ride Hwy 58 across Grayson Higlands State park and all the way to Damascus, VA. More mountain and valley views.
I appreciate that recommendation very much. I can't wait to go back next time. I appreciate your time very much!
Man we were fortunate to ride the Back of the Dragon in the fall with all the beautiful colors and absolutely loved it. Of course we love all roads that twist and turn lol.
It's so beautiful over there and I just can't wait to go back soon. So much fun and the riding is fantastic. I appreciate your time and thank you for watching!
Love that road. I'm hoping to spend more time down that way next summer for Vamm24, take some extra days and hang out and explore.
I hope I can make it! This year they planned it right on my wife's birthday so that was a no-go. Thank you very much for watching!
One of my favorite roads, and there are a bunch of great rides in that area. A must visit area. ... Bob
Me too sir. It's beautiful in that part of the country. Thanks for watching!
It’s definitely a challenging road. Was great to meet you at VAMM this year.
For sure man! I hope to see you at another meet-up again soon!
Thanks for the ride and video 👍👍
Happy to share and give my feedback. Thank you for watching!
I like the Back of the Dragon! The sticker next to Road Glide Andy was Wandering Yankee. I have his sticker. 👍🏽👊🏽
That's cool! Yeah, I know of his channel. I'll have to check him out. Thank you!
Nice video keep up the good work Ty From Tennessee
Thank you very much. As always I really do appreciate your time!
Rode it last year. Very beautiful areas and roads but I must point out that if you're used to riding in the N.C. area these roads are not as well maintained. Use caution in the turns.
If you really have the desire to be challenged try hwy 738 northward out of Pulaski all the way to hwy 42. We've ridden the Dragon 8 times and the B.O.T.D. and even the Beaver Dam Rd in NC. They're Cub Scout level next to 738. The switch backs are from hell, sharp, ascending steeply in the middle and narrow. It's no surprise we didn't see anyone coming down from the other way and if we had met someone in a car in those switch -backs it would've been dump the bike time. 1st gear in every SB.
It's listed on the local biker ride brochures and I can't remember but I think they call it the Devil's Elbow. Not for the beginner but if you're up for a skill test check it out!
That is a great recommendation! Thank you very much. I will most certainly research and check into it. Thank you and have a great day!
Catching up. Great video thank you for sharing
Much appreciated sir. Thank you very much!
Great video. I had so much fun on the dragon
Thank you very much for checking out the video!
@@TyFromTennessee every time you post I’m watching yes sir
@@kellybgliding Thanks man. I really appreciate that.
Been in Bahamas..gotta set up 1000 mile check up when we get home...
Lucky! I'm really looking forward to Jamaica again next year. Ride safe!!
My sticker is on that guardrail also.
That’s a nice road, but must be respected.
I saw one of yours at another location we stopped at. They cleaned a bunch of them up because they were gone!
@@TyFromTennessee
I’ll put a fresh one up next year 😃👍
Cool looking road!
Yeah man. It is so much fun. Can't wait to go back again. Thank you for watching!
Man they stripped all the stickers off that guard rail. Mines gone, makes me sad. 😂 BOTD is definitely a great road.
I stopped at another spot too and yup, they must clean them off ever so often.
Back of the dragon is awesome. Nice country side.
Love it. Such great riding over there. Thank you for watching!
awesome roads!
Thanks AB! Yes sir, lots of great riding in that area. Thank you for watching!
I’ve never heard of this. I’ve been to the Tail of the dragon once.
BOTD is a great ride. I highly recommend it if you get the chance. Thank you for watching and ride safe!
Ty are you using your 10c pro for audio?
No sir. I rarely use my Sena at all unless it's in a group setting. I have a mic that is wired to the GoPro via a media mod.
I live in Chattanooga also how far is it from us?
About 5ish hours to get there on the interstate. If you take backroads add an hour or so. Thank you for watching!
@@TyFromTennessee oh wow thats overnight trip
@@DSPAINTWORKZ Yeah. We made a weekend trip out of it.
Virginia!!!! Not TN
Yeah, I know. Just a little slip up. Thank you for watching and I appreciate your feedback.
What is that clunking noise everytime you shift?
Hey there...I think it's just the normal shifting of the bike, but I'd have to take a close listen and see. The ride was beautiful and I sure hope to go back soon. Thank you for watching!
@@TyFromTennessee thanks for the video. I rode it last June and your video brought back some good memories.
Maybe it’s the lack of talent the reason why you don’t like “ tail of the dragon “ …back of the dragon a long ways to go to get in the twisty when there’s plenty of stuff to ride in WNC…
Can you define “lack of talent” so that I don’t make an assumption on your part? Which roads you like or done is really just a matter of personal opinion.
The tail of the dragon used to be pretty awesome, now it’s full of traffic and kamikaze test pilots on motorcycles and in sports cars. last time I went it was literally a line of cars and motorcycles, going up and down the mountain with the occasional wreck off in the weeds. the back of the dragon at lest for now offers a scenic route with lots of twisties without all the drama.
😎👍👍
Thank you very much for watching!
10 years ago, yes. Now tourist trap.
I was just thinking about this ride. Considering if I should go back this year for a solo ride. Thank you for watching!!
What's the back of the Dragon is it anywhere even near the Tail of the Dragon
The Back of the Dragon is near Tazewell, VA. It's at least 4 or 5 hours away from the Dragon. I like Back of the Dragon better because it is much less crowded and the ride is beautiful. Check it out when you get the chance. Thank you so much for watching!
