A lot of hate in the comments for new cars. You swap the drivers in this race and the Hellcat wins, we all know they can run faster than 12.03. Respect for people building their own cars but face it, what Dodge has done with the Hellcats is miraculous! On top of the potential to run in the 10s on pump gas, you have a supercharged daily driver that requires zero additional care, they're reliable going from stop light to stop light sitting in the heat all day, inside they're insulated, quiet, and as comfortable as the world's best grand tourers. AND the best value with a dollar to horsepower ratio of less than 100:1. We all have our preferences, clearly I'm a Dodge guy but I respect the Chevy and Ford lovers out there, they make great cars too. And none of them should have just closed their factories in 1973. I love my 1968 Charger R/T and I think it looks way better than my modern Chargers. But that's subjective. Meanwhile, my modern Chargers are objectively superior to it in every measurable way: safety, performance, comfort, reliability, handling, longevity, etc. Continue to love the classics but accept that modern muscle has its merits.
This is what frequently happens when someone buys a performance car, spend entirely too much time bragging about owning a 10 second car, then get their ass handed to them by what the owner thinks should be a easy win. Go watch another fast and furious movie.
