Great video! My favourite symphony and one I listen to on repeat, but I realized I knew nothing about it! Wonderful insight and lovely letting the musicians talk. Big fan of Stephan Beck as well, I like the way he phrases things! Thanks :)
She comes from a Mexican family, grew up in Mexico and lived there for many years. We don't know her passport, but she is commonly referred to as a Mexican conductor. We hope we have been able to help clarify 😊
She obliterated Turandot in it's last run at Liceu in Barcelona. Nonsensical choices for one of the worst conducting I've listened to. But she seems to have good connections and sponsors.
Stefan Beck ist wirklich ein guter Musiker. Über schöne Maestra gibt es viele Frage. Allein eine Begabung zu dirigieren reicht für dieses Beruf nicht aus.
I can't shake the feeling that conductors are overrated and almost entirely unnecessary. At least during a performance, Their role before a performance is a different matter.
@@declup Maybe so for the Baroque and early Classical period music where not so many players/instruments are involved, but stuff from the Romantic period onward usually require a conductor, I think (and especially for the atonal stuff and the more rhythmically complicated stuff). Orchestra musicians may have different ideas of how to phrase things, and the conductor is the one unifying the different ideas into one cohesive interpretation/way-of-playing-the-whole piece. A lot of Mozart and early Beethoven bands can still be heard today with no conductor (or maybe the soloist also does the conducting, and everyone else have to follow the soloist's vision of the piece), but you'd just about never see that in post-Beethoven music. Too complicated in many ways.

I really love her passion for all of the music she conducts!
Absolutely great video!!! I do really love videos like this, especially with Alondra de la Parra!! She's amazing!
The look on her face as the last note slowly fades…wonderful. During four movements she was the music.
Too good. This is one of my favorite works.
A superb piece, nice to see such an interesting video about it! Thanks.
Gute Dokumentation. Die Musiker spielen einfach toll und Alondra topt das Ganze mit Eleganz.❤❤❤

Loved this❤ Alondra is amazing!

She is *rapidly* moving up on my list of favorite conductors. She feels and expresses the music like no one else. Her "Bolero" is hypnotic.

I had a great time watching this analysis video :)
For not being Mexican she has the strongest Mexican accent. Wonder why that is?

Sergej Razinkow Alondra de la Parra war an 2 Universitäten zum Musikstudium. Sie spielt mehrere Instrumente. Einfach ihr Portrait ansehen.

I write this because I would like someone, if possible, to either confirm my impression or change my mind.
