*Hi friends. I hope you all have a great weekend ahead of you. Thank you for supporting my series ❤*
Another fantastic episode! Thank you so much for enriching our beauty community through history and your amazing content. As always you have all my support and admiration! XO! 💖😘
Thank you so much Jackeline! I really appreciate all of your support 🥰
This was so marvelous Allison! What a fascinating woman and designer! I hope the return of her house honors her vision!
I hope so too Christina! 🥰
How fascinating!! I love surrealism and I’m so glad someone resurrected her brand 😍😍😍 love her dark whimsical style
Me too! Such an interesting person.
Oh my goodness how amazing Schiaparelli was. I had know idea who she was. I will be on the look out for her designer looks in modern day fashion. So interesting. Thank you so much again Allison for this amazing beauty history & your beautiful makeup as well 🥰🥰🥰
Right?! She was so interesting. I'm so glad to bring her up to more people.
Admitting that I have been binge watching these episodes in the last 2 days!
Never had heard of Schiaparelli as a fashion icon, but because of you, yes you, I’m so inspired by her artistic works in clothing. I’m inspired and motivated to purchase some pieces now that it has a revival-I’ll jump on that train! With Chanel I was….sucked up by the hype, but because lately, from what I hear even on UA-cam, Chanel is just ridiculous with their pricing and let alone the degrading quality of the bags so I’m skipping Chanel.
Thank you for the cool history! Love it!
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you appreciate my series Leslie. I know that Schiaparelli is not a household name like Chanel, but I hope you can spot Schiaparelli pieces in the future and think back fondly on this video.
Glad i didn’t try to guess this one! I never heard of Elsa! I love to hear how well you pronounce all of the French names! The old/vintage photos are so special! I love Trompe-l’ oeil!!!
This one is a bit more niche so no one guessed this one. I certainly hope her trompe-l’œil design comes back!
@@AllisonChase me too!
So funny! My favorite Chanel lipstick is in the shade “shocking pink” 🤣
Oh my gosh that's too funny!! 🤣🤣
Learned a lot! Did not know the trompe le “a you know “ 😂 was Schiaparelli. I once had a cardigan with a big bow knit into the front -wish I still had it, I loved it!
Oh fabulous! I wish you still had it too 😂😂
Such a lovely way to spend on a chilly Saturday evening.
Thank you for sharing your passions with us so eloquently💐❤️
So nice of you to spend the afternoon with me 🥰
I love Salvador Dali nice to hear of him in this one wonderful job!!
Thank you very much!
PS: Fascinating about her inspirations through Dali! he was so interesting in his own right! So many stories.. so little time! I love history!!
So many stories and so little time is the motto of Beauty History! LOL
I bet it takes a long time to get all of this information organized together for these wonderful presentations.. let me tell you, you are killing it!
Knowing what I know about Chanel’s background & even Lagerfeld, it’s hard for me, as a Jewish woman, to support the brand.. How fascinating about Chanel’s insidious jealousy and rudeness towards Elsa S. She was like the “Lady Gaga” of her day! Scaparelli!
@@Loralarify Oh my gosh thank you so much!!!!
@@Loralarify I can really relate to how you feel. For me I can separate Coco from Chanel because 1) she's dead and 2) she isn't directly making money from me. I don't support creators or brands that I don't respect like Jeffrey Starr for example because I don't want to give people like that my money. I think it's important to remind people that Coco was allegedly a Nazi (I'm not trying to get sued 😂 ) because there is so much free information available online. I trust and respect my audience enough to know that they're smart and know how google works 😂 . All you have to do is type in "coco chanel ww2" and all of this pops. I've seen other creators refer to this as a rumour. Best case scenario is that they're lazy researchers, worst case scenario they're choosing to omit to this information because they think it'll help them get on a pr list. 🤷🏻♀ Anyway that's my two cents on that 😂
Soooo interesting, I throughly enjoyed it. Thank you. Gill 🇬🇧 xoxo
😘😘😘
You’ve hit it out of the park once again! Loved this history episode, Allison! One of my favorite moments of art history. Thank you!
You are so welcome! Thank you so much 🥰
Thank you Allison! Another fabulous (fiery) episode of Beauty History🔥.You look fabulous as always 💄
You are so welcome! 🥰
It sounds like Cocoa Chanel was the one who was jealous that fuelled her “ hate” for Elsa. Elsa had a wealthy life and life seemed easy for her which sounds like it rubbed Cocoa the wrong way. Thanks for this video. It kept me busy while I was doing my archaic thing of ironing. 😂
I think you’re right Hilda. And I’m so glad I could keep you company during your chores 😛
Very interesting episode! I've heard about Schiaparelli as a modern brand and have seen their dresses on the red carpet but had no idea about the history behind the brand name. I see their designs in a new light now. Thank you for the fabulous video, can't wait for the next first Friday of the month.
Thank you! I love to add perspective and humanity behind the designers.
Very interesting history.Something I never heard. So happy to watch Your series and
learn about beauty history.Love it,and congratulations.
Glad you like them! 🥰🥰
I didnt know Schiaparelli so this one was very interesting. Thank you.
My pleasure! I'm glad I could bring her to light.
Awesome Allison! Thoroughly enjoyed this as I have every other single one!
Awesome! Thank you so much 🥰

More to come! 🥰
Love this so much and love watching you apply your bronzer and blush. 😍
Thank you 😊
These videos are such a treat. Thank you. You bring a lot of interesting perspectives to the story.
The pleasure is all mine.
I loved this video! I learn so much from your beauty histories episodes. 💖
Oh thank you! 🥰🥰
Allison, thank you! Another terrific episode! Love these! xoxo
You are so welcome! 🥰
What a fun episode!! Love it! Also, I could listen to you say "couture" all day long. Sounds a little fancier in your accent than in my Texas accent, LOL.
Oh thank you! 🥰🥰
There’s a great novel all about WW2 in France, the rivalry between Elsa and Coco called The Last Collection by Jeanne Mackin. There’s another novel based on actual facts about haute couture seamstresses working for the French Resistance during Nazi Occupation called The Dressmaker’s Gift by Fiona Valpy. If you like to read, I really enjoyed both!
Wow! How did I not know about this? Thank you so much!!
@@AllisonChase My favorite line in The Last Collection tells about how Coco dourly referred to Elsa as “That Italian Woman”.
@@alisondavis2601 Yes! That rivalry would have put the Real Housewives to shame 😂 😂 😂
The Last Collection was excellent and is where I first heard of Elsa.. I ended up searching for more about her. I'll have to check out The Dressmaker's Gift too.
Very very interesting history episode! A lot of funny comments on Elsa husband 🤣🤣🤣
Right?! He was such a schmuck! 🤣
Great episode! Learned so much ❤️ thank you for your time and research
You are so welcome! ❤️
My darling this is another great episode, thank you so much for this hard work..i have learn so many things 🤩💖💖
You are so welcome 🥰🥰
There should be a movie about this rivalry 😁
Seriously, someone cal Netflix!
I’m now waiting for the first Friday of the month - I love all your videos and reviews, but beauty history series is what brought me to you, I enjoy them immensely! Thank you so much for your work, please do know it’s not for nothing, it’s greatly appreciated! Thank you so much! Few years back I was able to see Schiaparelli at the MET, it was fabulous! Such and interesting story, what a fabulous hour! Again, thanks a million!
Thank you so much Elena! Thank you for the encouragement. That must have been fabulous to see in person.
This is one of the most fascinating episodes of the beauty history series, though they’re all great!🥰 so educating and entertaining at the same time. And the best bedtime stories ever😉
Imagine owning (or at least wearing!) a couture gown by Schiaparelli, that would have been magical🥰
So glad you enjoyed it 🥰 Yes! Can you imagine owning one of he pieces? 🥰
Allie! I intended to comment before now....thanks again for another interesting video! I really appreciated hearing about her. I knew of the name, but that's really it. I love all of your vids but these are my fave.
Thank you for commenting Teresa 🥰🥰
super interesting, thank you :)
So nice of you 🥰🥰
This was great! I never heard of her so I learned a lot with this story. I bet she was a lot of fun to be around. Now I will look out for her fashion influence on celebrity clothing. Thank you for the enlightenment and a fantastic job narrating. 🤗
Please do! Let me know what you find!
Well that was interesting!
Sincerely, Susan
Thank you so much Susan 🥰🥰
