Today we are talking about taking a break. This month marks the 8 year anniversary of my first upload here in UA-cam. Since then, I have consistently uploaded 3 videos a week for the better part of that time. It's time for to take a break. This is a sabbatical, not a retirement. I will be back in the New Year feeling recharged and inspired again. I will not be uploading new videos for a couple of months, however, I will be responding to comments so feel free to reach out. Think of this as your fancy friend in Montreal taking a semester abroad.

I have decided to take a small break from posting here in UA-cam. Recently, I was left wondering "are all of these collections and brands uninspiring, or am I simply uninspired?". The best way to find out is to take a pause. This month marks the 8 year anniversary of my very first upload here on UA-cam and since then I have posted consistently 3 times a week. It's time to rest and recharge and I look forward to coming back and sharing my morning coffee with you ☕ I will not be posting new content for a couple of months but I will be responding to comments so fee free to reach out.

A well earned rest, Allison. There is so little inspiring makeup these days, Chanel behaving like Colourpop pumping out these random releases which lack cohesion. I wouldn’t blame you for feeling uninspired by it all. I feel the same.

Allison, Take care of yourself! Honestly, I'm surprised you lasted as long as you did. We need to look after ourselves so that we can be our best for others. Self-care is so neglected unfortunately and I fall into that category as well. You give so much of yourself to others that you have nothing left for yourself.

I like ur videos, I like how u bring out items in ur collection that u love & still use on a regular basis that may not necessarily b new releases,but jus part of ur collection bc a lot of us have those items as well & it inspires us 2 get those items out & use & appreciate them without having 2 spend money on every new release,I think that makes ur channel unique & more practical & some of us need that,so thank u 4 helping us appreciate the nice things we already have.:)

Your videos are not shallow like “this is blue, this is black”, but they are actually in depth, sometimes even to the beginning of that brand.
You educated us, some things just pierces the heart - nobody is come running to you in the mall and asking “Are you wearing Gucci bronzer” 😁😁😁
Even I’m growing tired of endless new/limited releases. Many of them are used only handful of times. And then there is new release. Are we supposed to wear ONLY expired makeup?????

How can anyone use up all this make up! I imagine it has been quite costly trying to keep up with it because it certainly is for me and I don’t buy all the make up that you do to show on your channel. It is a strength to know when you need to step back for awhile. I hope that you will feel recharged and return refreshed. I will miss seeing you here in UA-cam while you are gone, and look forward to your return when you are ready. It’s a brave step that you’re taking, and I admire your courage and self-awareness in knowing you need to do this.
I am beginning the 34th year in the classroom. I wish a sabbatical were possible for me. I do plan to retire in a few more years, though.

Well I am bummed for my own selfish reasons. You have become my favorite makeup guru, I always watch although I don't comment that much. Your videos are great and stay true to the luxury beauty arena when others seem to sell out to the mass brands for sponsorships. Your own "brand" has stayed very high level. I will have to get thru this with Angela's videos as she is a very close runner up to you. I'll be back when you return though. Sorry to hear you will gone for a bit..but you must do what’s best for you. I will miss you and I might even save some money until your return. In Europe now and just bought some of the Chanel you mentioned recently and the gorgeous Cle de Peau quad palette. Coral palette is just beautiful and I grabbed the V. Happy sabbatical, I will miss your videos. Enjoy and take a good rest and come back revitalized. I wanted to let you know that I recently retired from my position of 41 years and guess what everyday is a new day and I am always finding stuff to do whether it is laundry or stuff around the house or going out. I am sure you will be fine. Oh yes there is some news on my part hopefully my daughter gave me some news by next year I will be even more busier. Take care and enjoy the rest of the summer plus the fall and the start of our winter months. See you next year.
