You don't have a man cave, you have a man home. 😆 Lots of really good looking storage methods.. Love it!

Ha, thanks Andy. My wife is awesome to let me have my spaces. If you saw the rest of the home, you'd definitely say it's hers. She actually drew up and designed our home. Our fourth build and you learn a lot each time. She is amazingly talented for sure.

I am definitely diggin the look of those gear walls! I've got so many questions for you too. First though, what method have you secured everything to the drywall/ gear wall? Surely everything isn't into a stud. For example, the black pipe shelf with the Alpinestars boots; how is that mounted? Next, the random hooks securing bags...do you have mounting hardware going into a stud? Also, are the Gladiator cabinets mounted directly to the wall? It certainly doesn't look like you're utilizing a slat track. Thanks so very much in advance for your response! Keep making these vids, you've got something here!

Thanks for your compliments and for the note. Part of the bonus of using barn wood is once I secure the planks to the wall with screws into studs, they serve as a base themselves. The vast majority of stuff that is hung is then only secured with screws into the barn wood and dry wall. Heavier items like the black pipe to hold wheel sets are long screwed into studs. Anything that is black pipe as a base for shelving is long screwed into studs. The Gladiator cabinet is hung on the Gladiator slat rack. I cut them about a half inch shorter than the cabinet and cut to small pieces that are hung toward the bottom of the cabinet too, so the cabinet sits flush. Hope that helps. Fire away with any other questions.

@@EdenToyBarn Ahh, I gotcha! I'm tracking everything you're talking about. Thank you for the response! Did you get all your black pipe from local big box store? Also, did you mount the Gladiator cabinet over accent wall? I'm guessing you mounted to drywall then butted planks up against cabinet? It's hard to tell from the video. I've created a barnwood accent wall in my garage utilizing planks ordered from Centennial Wood. It's quite pricey though but it sure does look good!

You can definitely get the black pipe at Lowe's or HD. It's a bit cheaper at plumbing supply places. At least from what I've found. Buy fittings in packs of two and four when you can and they are usually 10-20% cheaper than buying single. From a cost stand point, depending on what I'm buying, the projects are 1/2, 3/4 and 1 inch pipe. 1/2 is obviously significantly cheaper. I aesthetically get pipe diameter to look right for the project. Project to project, mis-matched sizing will never be noticed. As far as barn wood, I am in a small town with hundreds of barns, some that are more than a hundred years old. I try to grab what I can from failing sttructures. People are usually more than happy to let it go if they know it's being repurposed. But there is plenty that I've purchased too. I'm sure there are lot's of great mills out there, but I've bought a lot from this group out of Oklahoma. Service and product are awesome. No kickbacks for me for referring them. Just happy to pass along their site. rockinwoodusa.com
