Oh man that was the initial line up of the Three Friends project! Kerry stayed for a very short period, those who attended the first gigs were really lucky.
Wow, had to fight back the tears. I remember buying this album new. It was a favorite song of a girlfriend and mine at the time. I didn't see her for more than 30 years. She started recited the lyrics, and I continued them. So very touching. Thank you Gentle Giant.
I was at this gig so I was initially pleased to hear the music start - but the message on the screen prompted me to check the title of the video... :( Damn. Ray Shulman was one of my favourite bass players out there, and in one of my very favourite bands! This hit hard to be honest. Rest in peace.
Just lovely. Anyone who was ever moved by this song cannot be other than crushed by it now. Ray's memory, and that of Giant collectively, will not be measured by the number of people who remember, but by the passion with which they remember.
This is one of those pieces. Total genius from any age. Human emotion and great music craft. In the same space as Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D, Yes' Wondrous Stories, Barbara Srozzi's Dolcissimi Respiri and a few others. This man should have a Gentle pat on the head
Kerry, the most epic modern keyboard player ever. There was Bach then there was Kerry. No one ever pulled off syncopations like he does in such a natural fashion, which also happens to be memorable and epic.
I didn't know Ray Shulman had passed away. Sad news. Such an incredible musician, and a vital part of GG. It's a shame the band aren't well known enough to have got the reach they deserve, but for those of us who know their music, we know the impact and influence they had, and we can enjoy some of the best music created.
So wonderful. I sure wish GG would put this whole concert on Blu Ray DVD. I've seen a lot of other songs from it and it's just amazing. I saw GG opening for Sabbath in 72 and have been a fan ever since.
😅Absolutely BRILLIANT Kerry is such a Talented Musician I was fortunate to see GG quite a few times. Being a Bass Player myself.. I miss Ray. He was so talented
Simply fantastic. A true masterpiece !
Kerry’s voice sounds as great as ever
Yes it does, lovely.
I love Kerry's voice
Ohhhhh... such beauty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GG was/is the GREATEST band, any genre, any time, past/present/future.
Blessings to all.

Tune from Heaven🌹
That song almost had me in tears, back then, and still has that same effect, thank you guys for a life time of such Memorable songs!
Had me in tears.

Happiness and Sadness come rushing through 😞
Sei nel cuore di tutti noi che ti abbiamo seguito dai tempi dei Gentle Giant.
The world lost a great musician. Ray will live long through the beautiful music he created with his "friends".

Well said!
I saw them, GG, twice as a teen, and they were a knockout.
Best of all the "Prog scene" in my book, and this is gorgeous.
Amen
Beautifully put
Thank you, Kerry Minnear
Gigantic Giant.... Phenomenal

…und die Musik lebt weiter. Danke.
Thank you for sharing this, Malc! I shed a few tears. Such a special song and a touching tribute to Ray. Hope you and Lynn are well - Anthony
Wow, what a rendition. My favorite GG ballad. I'm sure Ray would approve. RIP.
Ray Shulman = Genius. Gentle Giant = decades ahead of their time. Possibly the most original, tasteful, and hilarious band ever.
Kerry Minnear wow.
Kerry and Ray are the dynamic duo of all time in music simply put they made it my favorite band!

GREAT SONG FROM A GREAT BAND. Good cover!
Nothing will ever beat G.G.
One of the greatest songs ever about the theme of separation!
This song has been breaking my heart for 50 odd years. You are so right. This tale of the ending of a relationship is so very powerful.

This song has always felt special to me, and it's nice to find such a truthful rendition of it. Thank you!
Ray died? Oh man, such bad news. What an incredible musician he was.
I loved Ray. He was the first of the Shulmans I met, in Detroit @ Cobo Hall
Man!!!😭😭😭😭
We want more videos!!! ❤❤❤

❤ Very nice version of this.
Tears….😢
Ray...............💖
Their best song ever
No way, they have many more just as good. It's like those who say that Epitaph is the best King Crimson song. They don't listen to full albums.
Thanks for sharing, great song and nice tribute
A very special song indeed.
I didn’t know about Ray. RIP =(
Brilliant!
Very nice.
Meraviglia.
