I'd love to try kayak fishing off the island here! Something I have on the bucket list for sure! Have to stick to the boat for now though! Thanks for the video!!
@HuyFishin haha I bet my boat has a lot more maintenence and upkeep costs though! Also I am pretty attached to her now and the only way she is leaving is if there is a bigger one taking her place lol!
Absolutely beautiful! Getting my PDL 120 soon! Once you walk your kayak to the dock, do you keep your wheel cart in your car or is rigged up to the kayak when on water?
We are looking for more Canadians!! We need to unite for this proposition....LOL I think this tourny idea will be great.....its under my tab...go check the channel an let me know! Thanks!!
So good fishing 🎣 How far do you stroll away from the shore and still feel safe? Do the currents make you drift a lot? Does it get difficult sometimes to paddle back to the marina?!! Sorry!! a lot of questions, but trying to learn before taking the risks of going alone :D
If you're going alone make sure you you stray off too far. Try to invest in a VHF radio and always wear your PFD. I generally go pretty far but if you're a little nervous I don't recommend it. Once the current starts pulling you out it can get tiring to go back in to the marina. I do feel safe on my kayak but I have been doing it for a quite a while.
Haha always disappointing when you lost your first fish of the day , next time show us the rock fish close up on the camera :), dont just let it go haha 🎣
It’s the one of the cheapest sealed saltwater rated reels on the market lol quantum reliance and the shimano saguaro saltwater spinning rod. Medium heavy 8 foot fast action I believe. The reel is actually pretty good for a lower priced sealed reel
One of my favorite is the Mac deep lures. You can also get the knock off versions from gibbs delta called "mac fish". I was just out same place last week caught a nice chinook on white/pink flashy buzzbomb. where are you fishing out of?
@@HuyFishin have you tried or used the sportsman 120pdl on the ocean? Does it do reasonably OK in waves or is it basically just a lake boat? Great vids btw!
@@thehonfleur I own the 106 which is the shorter version. I have friends that use both the 106 and the 120 for the ocean. Its manageable but its a flat bottom and it pushes water more then cutting through water like the bigwater and salty pdl with its V shape hull design. Out of 6 guys I fish with on the coast. 2 of us have the big water and 3 have the sportsman 120 and one uses a 106. The sportsman I would give it a 5/5 for stability as for the bigwater I would give it a 3/5. as for speed the bigwater and the salty are much faster. The most important thing is you will catch fish on any platform you choose.
Great video wonderful place I'm in vic hope I see you out there
Ohhh you will!! I’m currently looking for another home in Victoria at the moment. Real estate on the lower island is insane
Dont forget a bad day of fishing is always better then a good day at work haha. How much does your yak weigh??? They look heavy!
With all the tackle and gear onboard? I'm not sure haha HEAVY!! with nothing on it maybe around 92lb
So beautiful and calm.
It really is!

@@HuyFishin fair enough haha! Ice fishing soon comeback here in AB 🎣😂
115 feet deep. Yeah thats pretty far down. Long way to reel up and see what you got.
Its quite a chore when you bring a small fishing up from the deep haha
what combo are using??

What kayak model is that?
This one would be the Oldtown Bigwater 132 PDL. Its great for the big lakes and ocean!
