Real talk. What do you think about hybrid supercars? This was filmed before McLaren announced their new car so forgive the "predictions" that came true 3 days later. HUGE thanks to my Patreon Supporters for making this possible. Snow is on the way and I hope we can have a proper snow drive in it and get a little drifty.
Supercars should be at the very forefront of technology and that's where technology is headed. Cars like this should spearhead the transition.
I think they're just so cool. When the first hybrid supercars came out (Porsche 918, Mclaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari), I was fascinated by the tech inside the cars. I also think it's pretty neat that they can get relatively decent gas mileage. As we move forward to an electric future, hybrid cars are the best way to get the best of both worlds (Instant torque and of course, noise). Btw, I love your channel!
This is necessary. I wish we had more performance hybrids. My daily is a 2013 BMW ActiveHybrid3 (or 335ih) and it's insane having 350hp that can still get 40 to the gallon on the freeway. I want more like this.
You're onto something about Acura being ahead of the trend. Remember the ZDX that came out in 2010? Then from 2015 on everyone and their dog launched SUV coupes
As a Prius owner, the NSX would be at the top of my list if I had supercar money. Japanese reliability, eAWD for snow, 0-60 in 3s, and a guy at a Cars and Coffee said it gets 30mpg with cruise control on the highway.
It feels like: economy when you need it, supercar when you want it, can you test long distance economy?
Damn the NSX is good!
good isn't gonna cut it for that price
Hans Wurst it’s actually less expensive than most
I live in this state (Massachusetts) but I don’t live in Michigan
Of course it's good. And those who say that the NSX is not in the competition, let them see this as an example among many others. Honda are on the top with Porsche, Nissan, and AMG recently in GT300. And Honda also won the official FIAA SGT Super GT 2020 on the GT500 category too. And that's just the beginning.

Glad to hear you want to do another snow drive. The video "BMW M3 VS BLIZZARD - Snow Storm Night Drive (POV)" was epic!
looks like snow tomorrow! We'll see if it lives up to the weather predictions
One of the most relaxing videos on the internet
@@TedwardDrives The snow driving is definitely fun, just be sure to not put yourself in danger trying to make content with it.
Then again, I live in the south so I'm probably more afraid of snow driving than you are.
@@TedwardDrives the M3 VS BLIZZARD is what made me sub haha great video !
@@nate0088 Yup, for sure!
11:30 ironically enough, most dogs actually do see in a spectrum from blue to yellow, so maybe it did like the color of the car.
These cars are criminally underrated. The car community has been so stuck in the land of nostalgia that they've ignored how fantastic this thing is. They'll miss it one day.
I 100% agree
How is it underrated? Somehow beeing a 200k Honda makes it great now?
@@hanswurst6742 Underrated in the sense that the larger car community under-appreciates the capabilities of the car in comparison to the competition.
I'd trust my life to the Honda before ANYTHING the Italians still slap together! They call it "character", but consumers aren't as dumb after GFC 2008!
2:48 mclaren just unveiled their v6 hybrid artura
Haha this was filmed prior to the launch so I guess I was right
That mclarry should be very fast.. +100HP and 400lbs lighter than the NSX..that should be good for mid-low 10 sec 1/4.. then falls apart after a few runs :D
@@leemiks that last part is exactly how I feel haha. This press car has 16k miles on it and its fresh as accord with those miles. Most supercars are seeking new owners around 10k
Relating to introvert vs extrovert and how we're doing: I'm not really a total extrovert but i have really missed being with my friends all the time especially since I'm a senior. It sucks that i can hardly see the people that make school fun. It's just kinda hard to stay motivated
Me too man. Me too.
@@qx4n9e1xp let's just saying people are dying from pandemic from more than just Covid-19
stay strong my dude. Just remember that you aren't alone going through this !
@@ciello___8307 thank u!
The fact you talked about the windshield wipers makes me so happy. I'll never be able to own a car that costs 200k plus but these videos are so awesome!
Dont say never
Don’t give up man
I mean maybe not as new, but perhaps as used in 10-15 years time, then odds are that they’re worth under 100k, which still is a lot of money, but slightly more accessible
The NSX does not deserve all the negativity it’s gotten. Such a beautiful and reliable super car.
"I want that the things I buy work everytime I jump in them"
Has an M3 😂
Love your videos by the way, Keep it up!
Haha fair attack.
I found this channel recently, the cannonball car videos drew me in and this type of content made me stay. Great video can't wait to see an NSX in the snow!
My fingers are crossed tightly for good snow tomorrow and Friday. This car needs to be sideways!
With downsizing continuing in the future, cars like this and 911s are gonna sell like hot cakes; such an underrated car
Especially with Lamborghini keeping the v12 and v10
OMG I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS CAR FOR SO LONG!!!
Something that I can aspire to buy used in about 20 years.
It would probably appreciate by then
@@RomaneMaticaliseGordon no shot
@@RomaneMaticaliseGordon agreed, better to shoot to buy it in 5-10 years when it bottoms out.
This car sparks joy. I love yellow cars too. I really respect Acura.
Stopping to take pictures during the drive was my favorite part of this video. Please do that more lol
I appreciate you being vulnerable throughout this video.
It honestly sounds way better than I expected! 🤤
Same.
Yes man.. Yes
@@TedwardDrives does it make any sound when you start it? I need to ask because it's a hybrid.
@@lightorchestrator it always starts with the engine on hence the start stop button says "engine start stop" and not "power" like other hybrids
“Look at this dog, he’s happy too! He likes yellow!” 🤣🤣♥️ Love this
I really like how it puts down all the power effortless
11:05-11:35 made me LOL. the dog showed up perfectly during that exposition
I love this NSX the most out of all the supercars. Most supercars are so hardcore, trying to cut weight, using plastics, carbon fiber everywhere, no leather, which is all fine for those that only care about the performance aspect. However, this NSX looks luxurious and feels luxurious and gets great mpg at the same time. It's really a good supercar for the road that looks amazing!
Oh boy have I been waiting for this! God it looks perfect in that colour! Sick vid!
Loving the vibrant yellow
14:50 you got us! thanks for the videos dude, life has been boring lately and you videos cheer me up, I dont usually like watching videos that are more than 15 minutes long because they just end up beeing boring, but not with you, I always end up watching the videos from start to end, greetings from spain btw!
This is my dream car and my favorite colour! It looks like a blast to drive. Thank you so much for this high quality content!
Thanks for the great video. I have one of these and an LC 500 convertible, both on Sotto Zero 3 tires for the winter. I agree that taking these cars out for a drive (or going for a walk in a nature preserve) is great therapy during Covid times. Unfortunately winter hit Chicago hard for the last month and they have been hibernating in the garage. Looking forward to your next videos with the NSX. Make sure to get some blow off valve sounds captured as those are a really fun element of driving the car, plus the amazing handling in the twisties.
I really like it, looks like it rips and actually sounds really good for a V6.
Well yeah, it’s a Honda V6
I really like these but at the price point the competition is just so good. Not sure I’d choose this over a GT3 RS or R8 or even an AMG GTR. Keep up these awesome vids man!
GT3RS OVER THIS ANYDAY
GT3RS doesn't serve the same purpose. You wouldn't want to daily the RS. It'd beat you up. RS belongs on track and occasional weekender. The NSX could be your daily.
God that's a great color on that thing. We've got a fella in our neighborhood who has a dark red NSX that he drives all the time, rain or shine. These cars are drop-dead gorgeous in person.
I’ve got to say photos never sold me this car. They looks amazing in real life
Without a doubt you are the best car channel! Down to earth, realistic opinions and overall great content. Great to see!
so underrated the old nsx is a dream car but this 2021 version is mad underrated
I really liked when you took the pictures and put them on the screen, that was nice :)
Honest car review and also a small talk where you are very natural and wholesome, you are a legend my friend!
Ah finally, a real person. Much love, great videos
Sometimes the best things in life are kept secret. Such is the new NSX. Incredible feat of Engineering.
The quickness of the up shift is literally a video game.
I think people criticise it because it’s not the same track weapon like the old NSX. It went a different way this time but it’s a real supercar hands down .
There’s something really cool about this car. Yeah it might not be as raw as some other super cars but it’s so much more liveable and reliable. The nsx really can be a daily driver with some crazy performance
And the cool thing about the NSX like any other Honda or Acura products just a oil change and routine maintenance is all you need. None of these we got to take the engine apart to get to a air intake etc. You just drive. Definitely a underrated car
Honestly not holding up great mental health wise, but your videos make a huge difference. I live up in nh so seeing the roads so similar to my own does provide comfort. Keep doing what you're doing man, I'm thankful for ya
Spring is around the corner. I know it’s not a complete fix but in a matter of weeks the sun will feel warm and you want to go for aimless walks just to feel it. That’s what keeps me going
@@TedwardDrives couldn't agree more :) I appreciate the reply ❤
Hey man, can't wait to see another video of your Porsche, I bet it will be after winter.
same. I miss driving it!
Another great video! Driving a bright yellow NSX can definitely help relieve the tedium of work. Glad you are doing well and enjoying some fast cars!
Thanks Clayton!
The snow videos are my favorite for sure and I’m so glad you’re trying to make more of them while we still have this epic winter in the northeast
This looks so much better in a bright color that contrasts against the black trim on the nose
I'm holding up. But this cold snap has been making therapy drives difficult. A yellow NSX and some slightly better weather would be great right about now.
Great video. I appreciate seeing NSX in the "real world" during the winter season, I honestly think you are the first and only person to do this.👍
This car is soo underrated yet beautiful I wish it got more attention
I feel like I’m the only one who loves nsx so I’ve been waiting for somebody to drop a pov of it thank you so much
That yellow is stunning, almost looks gold in that overcast light.
Yup, this car is now on my bucket list... The sound of that engine is utterly delicious, reminds me a bit of the GT3
That speedo blur made my day XD
This video was therapy for me! The subjects you talk about and the car you're driving! Win/win! 👏
3:03 he definitely thought that was a cop for a split second lol
This one gave me the feelings🥰
Damm I’m really proud of Ted I subscribed a few months ago when he had like 20,000 subs and now he has 100,000 subs
I gotta say, you’re one of the most down to Earth car youtubers I’ve watched
I feel your comment about having something you really enjoy driving during gloomy times. Been pretty gloomy past few months in the PNW but my Cayman S makes it all better :). Something to look forward to after getting up, making that coffee, attending that zoom meeting, and working
Are you in a place with snow or just getting a wet cold season?
@@TedwardDrives I'm in the Seattle area so not so much snow, but plenty of wet & rain
This is what I needed on a Wednesday.
What a machine.
That pull to 65 onto 146 was awesome!
These are the videos we need! Real life driving not just the fun parts
More more more! I love the NSX. Thank you for making this.
Are you able to make a video of a Lancer evolution someday, is one of my favorite vehicles and is so badass.
I know that is not just by yourself, you need to know if someone near of you has the vehicle and you need to convince him to spare for you for a time, but I still cheering that this year you will record something about this car!
Long-life man.
I drove and filmed an evo 1 over the summer. What generation would you want to see next?
@@TedwardDrives I think the 3rd gen is very good, you should try record one, and thanks for the anwser man!
Great video man, I love this car a lot from what I can see in the video. It just has the perfect supercar shape (imo) and it sounds amazing. Sending you positive vibes and thanks for the video, I enjoyed it a lot. (Now I just need the cash for that car)
Thanks Luca!!!
Nothing better than seeing a video about a car that I never will buy, because I don't have the money nor sell in my country neither I have an interest in the same!
But I still enjoy
That looks like a beautiful drive at 80 MPH. Holy moly
I’d absolutely love to own an NSX, good ole Honda/Acura reliability
I live in Southern Ontario, and yes, those plows and all of the salt is such a love hate relationship for car owners. Our roads last about a year
Such happy vibes too from driving the NSX. Much needed pick me up during the winter.
One of the few very good sounding V6s
Every time you push the pedal down I think, “and it’s a Honda” 🥰
Such an underrated car in my opinion. Also the exterior is beautiful, the interior typical honda interior thats the only downfall but I would still would want to own this car. The performance is perfect for for almost any given scenario
nothing like a bright yellow acura to offset the dreary winter in the northeast haha
That yellow is just gorgeous on an overcast day.
I don't think I've really appreciated how good of an engine note these have, underrated for sure!
It looks so cool... and then you see the cupholders
It's a good video when Tedward busts out the speedometer blur
16:23 I wondered that exact same thing. I was doing virtual school for about nine months, and everybody had stopped talking to me. I was like you, i just sorta... Existed, without any outside interaction, and I got REALLY weird. I don't have any youtube following either, so I felt really isolated. I finally went back to school concerned for my own mental health and I couldn't communicate with people, i had no social skills. Now after about a month and a half of school, I've gotten better, but I'm still not quite at the level i was before the pandemic... So I get the situation you're in, and I sympathize with you.
It'll get better, I'm sure
You should do more videos at the night time. Your videos are therapy!
Planning on filming in the nsx in the snow tonight
@@TedwardDrives i got my notifications on 😂
я тоже одиночка , только работаю и отдыхаю дома , но я купил себе спортивный сивик fk7 , и очень этим доволен.....красивый синий цвет, дизайн, и то как авто разгоняется и управляется, вызывает восторг, и лечит от депрессии .
Having driven an NSX here's my take.
I have a love/hate relationship with the car. On the one hand, the power is beyond words. I got back in my RS3 afterwards and it felt like an A3. However the other thing that truly blew me away was the ride quality. Along with some very comfortable seats (which were very broken in since the tester I drove had 50K on it), you could use it everyday on the worst of New England roads, without compromising handling. Truly impressive. The torque from the electric motors is amazing. The induction noise is great, but still leaves something to be desired in my opinion. I wish the exhaust were more vocal and had a little over run because without it, it all just seems synthesized.
Now the bad news. The overall feel of the car IMO is basically the same as an off the lot TLX. I know that every manufacturer borrows parts from the parts bin (case in point the R8 has the same garbage shift paddles as my RS3), but it seems that Acura's design, parts and materials still don't compare to Porsche, Audi, Lamborghini ETC. And I'm sorry but at their original ask of 180-200, it just didn't "feel" like a car of that caliber. The performance was, but the pedigree wasn't. It reminded me of how the BMW i8 starts off life as a $150k car yet they're for sale all day for less than half, and I get the same feeling from the NSX. And the cupholders? Jesus christ guys. Wasn't this designed in AMERICA? Where we have big gulp drinks? This is not stuttgart in 1980. Complete afterthought.
Comparing it to other cars I've driven (particularly 1st gen R8 V10, Huracan, AMG GTS), the NSX electric motors is certainly the party piece. However it's obviously no where near as sharp as a Huracan nor does it have the theater of the 10 cylinder cars. And IMO the long nosed AMG has an interior head and shoulders above what Acura can muster.
In my mind it's a great car, for someone who want's GTR (or better) performance, supercar looks, and Honda reliability. You could use it everyday which was the original ethos of the first NSX. Just make sure you get the car at the right price. Acura told me the tester that I drove with 50k on it only had one repair, a blown, strut, and that was after doing multiple track events at Watkin's Glen! So I wouldn't rule an NSX out of my future, if it ever gets below $100k...
NSX is so underrated.. some day people will start to appreciate the specialness of the car when it's long gone. They only sold 6 in January and 120 all last year. I don't really have any large complaints about the car except the 100% electronic world takes some getting used to when coming from the mostly analog 6MT e92 m3 and the 14 gallon gas tank is a little too small because i'm not getting the greatest gas mileage.
That car is actually pretty nice, looking forward to that snow drive!!!!
this car is one of the most underrated performance cars
Tedwards content never disappoints
The NSX looks so good 😩😩
I'm halfway in the video and this is already a dream car it looks and sounds so amazing (also love the pictures you took)
Those shifts are *brutally* quick.
I didn't notice but that nsx sounds really freaking good if you ask me especially in the 3 to 5k range
10:03 LOL the blur lets me know you had some fun. Rock on.
This car deserves some more love from enthusiasts tbh.
This car is on its way to appreciating status 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
as a big nsx fan this makes me super happy lol, it's such an amazing car. glad i stumbled upon this in my recommended.
also to answer your question: I'm doing pretty well. I've been socializing with people on video games, and i like being at home a lot so quarantine isnt really bothering me.
That's Great! I think I'd feel more social if I played video games. maybe I should set up my Xbox again. I like alone time for sure but I think the winter is taking its toll on me. I need some sunshine.
Wow first video I'm seeing of yours. Love the attitude and enthusiasm. Great review, subbed for sure .
Thanks David!
I always admired the original NSX for it's purity and simplicity. My first thought on this generation was they made it too complex. Put that aside, though, and this car looks like a lot of fun to drive, with a more conventional driving position than any other supercar.
Anyone who calls the nsx slow is 5 and never been in a car before, 0-60 in what is it like 2.8 seconds, that is mind blowingly fast, just because it’s 2 tenths slower around the Nurburgring doesn’t change the fact that car is ungodly fast in a straight line and still handles better then 99% of the cars on the road, if you’re worried cause the car is slightly slower around a Track to the point where it’s un noticeable you care way too much about the brochure and less about the car it’s self. This car is not the bmw i8 where it’s slower then the entry level m car yet is 10x the price, and I’m a bmw fanboy and I know tedward is a big fan of them too, and I’m sure he’d agree to some extent, that car was a massive disappointment, this car is actually fast not just a good looking car yet seems too be almost lumped in with the i8 cause it’s hybrid yet people love the shitty quality control Tesla for the same reason the nsx is hated and I don’t get that.
How the hell can anyone seriously sit there and say that 'this isn't as good as a 458 Italia'? It sounds amazing, it's ferociously quick by the looks of it, it looks great. As an all new, clean sheet design for Honda, it's a wonderful effort.
Matt Farrah just shat on the sound last week and I was shocked. This v6 sounds incredible
In your review, I want to see the dash changing modes, like after 9:28 into quiet mode.
This video made me an NSX fan
It ain't all about the spec sheets and lap times, it's how the car feels and how you feel when you drive the car, nobody could tell the difference between 3 sec 0-60 and 2.7 sec 0-60.
