I already loved the look of this bass, but bought one on the strenght of Tyler's demos. I am in love with it. I have had much more upmarket Jazz basses, but I play this all the time. In my opinion, Fender have entered another golden era of pickups, and playability. For the money, this bass is fantastic
I have been very impressed with mine!
I have this exact bass, same color scheme. I got it new-open box damaged from an Amazon returns re-seller for $135 all in. It had been damaged in shipment from Amazon - dropped too hard and the strap button at the bridge was pounded into the body. Since I wanted to learn slap and I always sit down when I make noise I jumped on it. Sounds fantastic through by Ampeg BA112.
Just purchased the exact one ! Great color.
Getting this in black 👍🎸 thanks for a great review
No problem at at all! Thank you for watching! T
I own this very bass, and it's more than legit! Going to get the CV Precision Bass in White now
I really like the CV stuff! My kinda vibe for a low price. Let me know you get on with the P! T

Will do, need to buy the Fiesta Red CV 50s Strat first!
I’m here after buying the 50s cv p bass. After only ever play j basses. I also prefer the rosewood/ Laurel fretboard.
This might be the one! I love the top end squires!!
And you don't have to take the neck off to adjust the truss rod which is a huge plus
I just put one on lay away because I had to buy the Girlfriend something for Valentine's Day. I have a set of MJS pickups I'm going to put in it. Some better pots, tone capacitor too for sure!
I love the Sunburst colour, classic!
Can’t go wrong with a sunburst Fender shaped object! 😉 T
awesome I need it
Great review. Thanks Tyler !
No problem David, thank you for the support!
@@TylerSpicer I bought one yesterday based on your review. The neck is so comfortable. Brilliant instrument!
bought your A SLight 112 - great IR!
nice review!
Just bought this bass, the black one though, CAN NOT WAIT TO SLAP THAT THING
It's a lovely feeling bass! Slap away! T
I got this in black, it's a great bass. I did a bit of a set up on it at home and put some rotosound 100 nickel steels on it....sounds great, plays well.
What adjustments specifically would you make to the pick-ups to improve the overall sound of the bass?
Great demo! Honestly I want one but I don’t need a 3rd bass 😅
Ofcourse you do!
I'm after a bass to start learning on. Quite liked the sound and feel of the Player Jazz when I tried that out.
I really like the look of the Squier classic vibe 60. Would it be worth getting one of these new, or spending a little extra on say a 2nd hand Mexican/Player?
I have both a Mexican jazz and a vintage modified 70s jazz, which is the same the as this one,and I can tell you their both the same basses for the most part, the mexi has a little bit better pickups, but I think I just got some botched pickups in my VM,no one else I've talked to about it has the same issues,or maybe I need new pots, either way your getting a really good bass, only with the CV your going to save some money that you can use to add better pickups,he didn't say it but these come with Seymour Duncan designed pickups they sound awesome.
The sunburst model in the 60s jazz looks great also. I didn't care for the 70's model. Had one, got rid of it. Did not like the pickups in the 70's version. Sounded really weak and thin to me.
is it vintage?
Hi! How does this bass compare to the Sire v3 and V7 line? Is it still worth going for a V7 if I don't need the preamp?
I’ve got to be honest - I’ve (somehow!) never played a Sire. I hear good things but can’t compare. A preamp that can be bypassed is always the best option in my opinion. I have bypass-able preamps on all my active basses with the exception of MTD, and it just makes me feel a lot more comfortable with taking a bass out, knowing if the battery dies I can put it into passive. T
I always think that Sire basses are much more percussive and appeal to the slappers whereas Squiers are more vintage sounding. Depends what appeals to you but if you don't need the preamp, I'd go for the Squier.
Thanks for this. How heavy is it, relative to the average bass?
I think this specific one was a little heavier than average! T

Hey! Do you experience any problems with the low E string touching the pickups when playing?
I had some I’m not a bass player more of a guitar player ,it’s not huge tho
Take a look at Dave's World of Fun Stuff - he will show you is to setup. If you plus string too hard for sure you can hit the pickups with the string. But adjust the pickup height and use reasonable plucking action and it shouldn't bit.
My wife just got me one of these for my birthday - will.be posting my reice and setup on my channel.
What would be better, this bass or the the Stirling musicman ray 4h ?
I prefer the classic vibe. The electronics in the Sub leave a lot to be desired! T
Wish you did guitar videos too. Can’t find a good review on an Epiphone SG
If I played guitar better - i would do! Always improving so maybe one day! T
@ Tyler Spicer honestly man even if you are bad at guitar which I doubt, I think you could still make better reviews than 80 percent of these guys on here. Trying to find a good in depth review of an Epiphone SG is like pulling teeth. You have the best bass reviews on UA-cam by far!
Sorry what is the difference between this bass and the 1970 which one is better in quality
Pedro Garcia the 70s classic vibe Squier? They should be the same, though every bass is different.
Ok thank you
The 70s classic vibe jazz has the bridge pickup positioned nearer to the bridge a bit so it sounds snarlier. Maple fingerboard too.
@@SiFi5478 Yup, I have the black jazz bass 70 and sound like my 75 Jazz ! Impressive
@@SiFi5478 and block inlays. They are both good basses - but I have to say I love my SX basses and recently got a J & D bass that I added EMG J pickups to. I love it.
Is this the daphine blue? Cause it doesn’t look the same
Could be the lighting?
Is this DI'd or thru a micd up amp?
Di! T
