Thank you Margaret for keeping the Bob Ross technique alive. You've done an amazing job, as you probably are NOT artistically challenged as I hope I'm not either, in any sense, ty for posting your beautiful art here for us to all enjoy.
Thank You!!! I have so many still wet paintings in progress and was in the mood for a wet on wet inspiration. Your work is remarkable. Please add more videos!!!
Margaret; love your paintings. I was always fascinated as a youth watching Bill Alexander and Bob Ross turn a blank canvas into a masterpiece in 30 minutes. Still amazes me today. I love landscapes, but would really like to learn florals. Nobody films florals. I'm a big fan of Iris, sure wish you would post an iris video.
Man, you have REALLY helped me!--I'm going to try this as an exercise! I'm an old retired, colored pencil artist, used to really tight realism, (Medical Illustrator and Portrait Artist-mostly horses), and I'm studying oils, acrylics and pastels to continue to grow artistically. I can't thank you enough for putting this video out here! Merry Christmas! Marlene from GA
Margaret, Did you realise that this painting is following the golden rule. I just checked your canvas with a Fibonacci rule / Gauge , And Hunny you are spot on. Brilliantly done Lass. I am Impressed...
Wow Love the work !, I have only just begun to paint ..acrylics.. don't know much about oils, I am so far from having any art talent but love what I do, kind of weird!, I find what you have done here very inspiring, I have been painting mostly salftwater game fish but your purple work has given me alot to think about! ,, hats off to Bob Ross as well!, I "study" his videos,, Peace!
Margaret, you're a natural teacher and a talented artist. Thank you so much for this work. I love the sky and am going to try to replicate it. Unfortunately, I have no imagination. While the sky is awesome, if like to have something in the foreground with a bit more interest. Do you think this sky would work over some land with trees, etc. instead of a baron beach ? I too am a student of Bob Ross and you know how he put trees everywhere. I'm very new to this and having some minor success.
Awesome painting job you did!! Thanks for not using time-lapse, it really helps us to see how you do it! I'm sure it takes a lot of practices :-) I'm guessing you used oil paint...can this be done with acrylic without it drying too fast? I noticed that there's many different fan brushes...is yours flat top fan brush (wasn't able to see if it is)? Really enjoyed watching you paint and encourages me to keep on practicing! I live nearby the shore, love the scenery! Keep it up! Thanks again!!
I have been painting this wet-on-wet oil painting technique for over a year and a half now, so I can help answer this question. Liquid White is a thinned-down oil paint which is applied to the canvas. The technique of wet-on-wet oil painting requires making the canvas wet. Any type of thinned-down oil paint will work. I have even seen artist use pure linseed oil applied to the canvas to make it slick. Wet-on-wet means blending color and pigment on the canvas itself instead of on the palette. Liquid White is just a white oil paint thinned down with some type of oil, such as linseed oil or other type of artistic oils (there are a lot of oils to use, each with different properties and drying times.) This technique was used by many other artist during different time periods such as the Renaissance. Even though people associate Bob Ross and Bill Alexander as the creators of Wet-on-Wet painting, their predecessors invented the technique. I hope that this answered your question.
wonderful! happy to to your back. thank you for your time and sharing. hope to see more.
I like the calm way you teach.
Thank you!

Merveilleuse artiste... j'aimerais en faire autant... mais à 80 ans, il faut du temps? Merci!
I like your paintings so much.
In this painting, why you left the sun reflections in the sea without being highlighted with bright white.
Thank you for your answer Margaret, but as I am living in south of France we have not in a shop a material from Bob Ross :(
Love this I paint with acrylics so what would I use to get that wet on wet technique instead of the liquid white ? I'm a beginner painter.Thank you
Outstanding. Margaret next video you are going to have to give your dogs some air time.

Bonjour Margaret which kind of white do you use at first on your Canvas ? Thanks à lot. I like all your paintings :D
cám ơn bạn- video này đã tạo hưng phấn cho tôi trong lĩnh vực cảm xúc hội họa
awsome
I am painting on a regular canvas with a bob ross floor easel with oil paints.
Can you also do it with acrylic paint too?
nice
I have a question for you, how come you paint the whole canvas white first? It's already white, is there a reason?
The white paint is why this technique is called wet-on-wet.
I have been painting this wet-on-wet oil painting technique for over a year and a half now, so I can help answer this question. liquid white is a medium it allows paint to blend more fluidly
